delete
WZ had reported along with others how there were problems in the relationship between Spike TV and TNA Impact Wrestling. The news was Spike TV didn’t want to renew their deal with TNA once it expired in October. Chair Shot Reality on WZ has been able to confirm the real reason that caused Spike TV not wanting to renew contract with TNA. Spike TV wanted to purchased a percentage of TNA Impact Wrestling and move forward as share owners of the business. Dixie Carter would not agree to this deal and it caused the news of the potential end of their working relationship. nWo_Kevin
Eh them being canceled has become another dirt sheet rumor at this point. We still have 3 more months until their deal runs out and we'll find out one way or another then.

Lunchbox
So...Spike TV wanted to ensure that TNA would have a spot on their channel long term and have another money backer and Dixie said no...
Mango kid
I understand why tna said no it basicly giving the network control of the show which might not be good

Lunchbox
The only downfall i could have seen from Spike TV owning part of TNA would be Spike TV forcing crossovers on the company.

Lunchbox
How so? They showed it on their own network already. If they had a problem they could have stopped it.
Mango kid
true but if the deal went though them being in more control they would really have the power and really have control over what the company does

WarGreymon77
Screw Spike buying TNA. That would have been awful. Viacom is known to make terrible decisions, like running Spongebob 24/7 on Nickelodeon, and turning all of their music video channels into reality show channels. RazR
At the end of the day, I want TNA airing on another network. Spike TV isn't doing them any good. TNA might have lost a chunk of their viewers in the past few years but as of now, their ratings have been stable 1.0's. I mean, for a cable channel like Spike, that's pretty damn good. Yet they want to cancel their contract with TNA?
D-Henry
As much as I want TNA gone, just to see where the talent go, I don't want all those employees jobless (especially the behind the scenes ones who will probably never reach a level they did with TNA). So I would be content with them simply moving networks. Maybe it will do them well in the long run.
lightning116
After the whole Hogan/Bischoff debacle and Spike TV wanting TNA to sign all of these MMA guys that many wrestling fans either don't give a damn about or haven't the foggiest clue who they are, I say Dixie was right for not letting Spike buy some of their shares. Spike in any kind of control of TNA would be even worse than what they have right now. At least this sounds like a more legitimate reason other than them cancelling the show because of Vince Russo. The Real J.J. Jones
Ah but were the deal signed, do you think Spike would've kept Russo?
