On January 6th 2014, Jeff Jarrett quit TNA Wrestling with immediate effect after having much known creative differences with the management of TNA and the direction the promotion was heading. It was on April 7th 2014 that Jeff Jarrett revealed to the world that he would be starting up, Global Force Wrestling and teaming up with Dave Broome of 25/7 Productions.

It was then announced on the 25th of April that legendary NASCAR racer, Hermie Sadler would be joining Jeff Jarrett on the Board of Directors in GFW and 5 days later, Jeff Jarrett had announced a working partnership with the biggest wrestling promotion in Mexico, AAA. It was then on 23rd June 2014 that Jarrett was able to strike another partnership with one of the biggest promotions in Japan in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

With Jeff & Karen Jarrett already searching the globe for independent talent as well as striking up partnerships with AAA, NJPW, Scott D'Amore, Mick Foley and more the depth of roster for GFW is going to be phenomenal. It's with great pleasure that the GFW Board of Directors, Jeff Jarrett & Karen Jarrett are able to announce the signing of the first three members of the Global Force Wrestling roster. Jeff Jarrett is also pleased to announce that the former WWE announcer, Matt Striker has signed up under his real name of Matthew Kaye as the colour commentator for GFW.

"Real Rock 'N' Rolla" Fergal Devitt

As some what of a coup for Global Force Wrestling, Jeff Jarrett was able to get the signature of one of the hottest independent wrestlers right now in Fergal Devitt. Known for his career with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Fergal Devitt is a former 3 time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and former 6 time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He has also won the Best of the Super Juniors twice in his career and is most notable recently for his run as the leader of the Bullet Club.

"The Prince of Queens" Brian Myers

Following his release from the WWE, Brian Myers didn't rest on his backside as he immediately began finding independent bookings around the USA. Having been one member of the Edgeheads with Zack Ryder, Brian's stock dropped as soon as the team split with Zack Ryder being the more favoured member of the team. Myers however has re-invented himself and is out to prove that he is an asset to any company.

"Da Beast" Shad Gaspard

Following his career in the WWE as one half of Cryme Tyme, Shad Gaspard took the the airways and began a career as part of the Inoki Genome Federation. During this time Gaspard was able to get more recognition for his work instead of being known as JTG's tag team partner. Global Force Wrestling welcome Shad Gaspard to the brand.

Global Force Wrestling News - 5th July 2014

With already 8 names announced on the roster the GFW Board of Directors, Jeff Jarrett & Karen Jarrett thought it would be fair to announce the next four names who will be joining the likes of Brian Myers, Drew Galloway and Prince Devitt. Karen Jarrett also announced that Valerie Wyndham who is better known as SoCal Val will be joining the backstage team as the interviewer for Global Force Wrestling.

"The Dead Wrestling Society" Chance Prophet & Krimson.

A duo who are not well known on the wrestling scene are, The Dead Wrestling Society. With the pairing of Krimson & Chance Prophet these two face painted wrestlers send shivers down the spines of both the audience and the wrestlers who step into the ring with them. With the aim of striking fear into their opponents, Chance Prophet & Krimson look set to kill your idols and leave a path of destruction.

"The Knockout Artist" Chris Hero

One of the former Kings of Wrestling, Chris Hero recently returned to the independent circuit following a brief stint in the developmental system of the WWE under the name, Kassius Ohno. His time having trained in the United States, Europe & Japan will be a huge benefit to Hero as he looks to knock everyone out on his way to glory in Global Force Wrestling.

Global Force Wrestling News - 10th July 2014

With the growing roster, Global Force Wrestling management took it upon themselves to announce five more names of the GFW roster with a mix of independent talent and well known talent. Jeff Jarrett has also recently conducted an interview with Valerie Wyndham on Globalforcewrestling.com

Jeff Jarrett Interview by Valerie Wyndham - 10th July 2014

Valerie Wyndham: You join me at this time with Global Force Wrestling founder, Jeff Jarrett. Now Jeff this is your first interview for Global Force Wrestling; I've got to ask, what have you got planned for Global Force Wrestling?

Jeff Jarrett: Well Val, GFW is exactly what it stands for. I'm gonna be taking wrestling back to the global stage it deserves to be on. Now you may question that another promotion is currently their, but they're not drawing the crowds that they used to. Ok they still pack out arenas but nobody is tuning in anymore. Folks wanna watch Monday Night Football or on other night UFC, but GFW is going to take these on and win the war. Now I'm looking to go to war with the other global brand but I'm certainly looking to take the top spot in the wrestling world.

Valerie Wyndham: Wow that sounds phenomenal. So already we've got quite a roster announced, who could you see being the breakout star in Global Force Wrestling?

Jeff Jarrett: You're right Val, we've got quite a roster announced already but it's hard to choose a breakout star. The reason I've hired these folks is because they are the right package we're looking for. I mean you've got Chris Mordetzky, not a breakout star in the other brand but has revitalised his career outside of the USA, so I'm sure he can hang with the boys. Then there are guys like Mike Bennett or The Dead Wrestling Society, Krimson & Chance Prophet. These guys have never had a chance to prove their worth in the big leagues but I've seen them wrestle and can tell you that they are worthy of being on the roster.

Valerie Wyndham: Thank you Jeff, my final question is what can we expect from the deals with New Japan Pro Wrestling and AAA in Mexico?

Jeff Jarrett: I've worked with these companies before and to do deals with the number one promotion in these countries is simply great. Working with AAA i can say came around due to my own deal in the promotion, but you can expect to see some of their wrestlers north of the border and wrestling on our shows. Then the deal with New Japan well what can I say, everyone is watching New Japan right now so having the deal with them brings their viewers to us too. So expect big things Val>

Valerie Wyndham: Thank you Jeff for taking time out of your busy schedule to sit down with me for this interview.

2q3t0ma.jpg

Ignition kicks off in front of a sold out Nashville Municipal Auditorium with 8,000 fans in attendance as Jeff Jarrett and Matthew Kaye stand at the side of the ring welcoming fans to the first episode of Global Force Wrestling: Ignition. Kaye brings fans up to date with the rules in Global Force Wrestling stating that there are no count outs and no disqualifications. Jeff Jarrett then thanks the fans for packing out the arena for the debut show which features the likes of both established talent and independent wrestlers. Kaye then runs down the card before handing over to Larry Legend to announce the opening contest between "The Great American Nightmare" Drew Galloway & Tyson Dux.

GFW Global Championship Quarter Final Match

"The Great American Nightmare" Drew Galloway vs. Tyson Dux

Tyson Dux made his presence felt on the global stage against Drew Galloway nearly putting away the Scottish sensation in the early goings of the match but Drew was able to quickly turn the tide around in his favour and put away Tyson Dux after a hard hitting Futureshock DDT and advance into the Semi Finals.

Winner: "The Great American Nightmare" Drew Galloway

We then see a clip of The Dead Wrestling Society, Krimson and Chance Prophet who hype up the fact that The Bollywood Lions, Harv & Gurv Sihra are mere mortals compared to themselves and that victory lies with the dead.

GFW Global Championship Quarter Final Match

"The King of Queens" Brian Myers vs "The Stampede Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith Jr.

This match looked like a war for the ages as Brian Myers took it to Davey Boy Smith Jr. with strike after strike but the latter didn't show no hesitation to hit twice as hard as learned from his time in Japan. Both men then took the battle to the outside of the ring as Brian Myers attempted to use the No DQ factor to his advantage attacking Davey Boy Smith Jr. with steel chair after steel chair. Once back inside the ring however the action soon became one sided as Smith Jr. was able to pick up the victory following a Running Powerslam.

Winner: "The Stampede Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Following the match a graphic then appeared on the screen hyping that The Bullet Club were coming to Global Force Wrestling.

Tag Team Match

"The Bollywood Lions" Harv & Gurv Sihra vs "The Dead Wrestling Society" Krimson & Chance Prophet

With both teams not too familiar with the global audience The Bollywood Lions attempt their best and flashiest moves to try and wow the crowd but were soon bought back down to earth by The Dead Wrestling Society who just seemed to want to beat their opponents to death (pun intended). Krimson was then able to end the match following the Witches Wheel (rolling cutter) to pick up the victory.

Winners: "The Dead Wrestling Society" Krimson & Chance Prophet

Valerie Wyndham is then backstage where she interviews "Real Rock 'N' Rolla" Fergal Devitt asking him about his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling and what he hopes to achieve in Global Force Wrestling. Devitt tells Val that he hopes to become an even bigger star, some might say a global star but he also fears that The Bullet Club might be coming to haunt him.

GFW Global Championship Quarter Final Match

"The Knockout Artist" Chris Hero vs "Da Beast" Shad Gaspard

With both competitors having competed at the top level in America and Japan no hesitation was shown here with both men laying strike after strike against each other to try and knock the other out. However being a specialist at knocking people out, Chris Hero was able to advance to the Semi Finals after hitting Shad Gaspard with a Rolling Elbow and then the Cyclone Kill.

Winner: "The Knockout Artist" Chris Hero

Backstage The Bollywood Lions are discussing what went wrong before in walks Rich Swann and the newest addition to the GFW roster, Ricochet better known as the Inner City Machine Guns. Swann and Ricochet offer The Bollywood Lions a match next week to teach them how to win.

Chris_Masters16.jpgJohnMorrison.jpg

GFW Global Championship Quarter Final Match

"American Adonis" Chris Mordetzky vs "The Shaman of Sexy" John Hennigan

This match was a battle of the bodies to begin with; In one corner Chris Mordetzky flexed his muscles to amaze the crowd but in the other corner, John Hennigan lay across the corner of the ring as ladies took photos of him. Chris Mordetzky then decided he had enough and was out to teach John Hennigan a lesson but Hennigan was too quick footed and was able to dodge most of Chris' offence. The end of the match came however as Chris Mordetzky made a mistake and was knocked down to the canvas following a roundhouse kick. John Hennigan was then able to take to the top rope for Starship Pain giving him the victory and advancing him to the Semi Finals.

Winner: "The Shaman of Sexy" John Hennigan

Following the match Jeff Jarrett made his way into the ring to congratulate John Hennigan but also to bring out the other winners in the tournament. Jarrett then made the announcement that next week, Drew Galloway would be taking on Davey Boy Smith Jr. in the first Semi Final and the following week Chris Hero would be taking on John Hennigan in the second Semi Final as the show came to a close.
