I did too at first but actually going up against Oxide's ghosts made me push that much harder and as a result i became a much better player compared to when the game came out about a month ago, which at the time this seemed like an impossibe task to do. Try to beat Oxide's ghosts on the more easier tracks first(the CNK ones really aren't that hard) and just built from there. Look up other time trail videos on Youtube if you can't figure out why he's still that much faster. And use a speed character. The difference it makes is huge.
