My point of view of WWF vs WWE

Recommended Posts

I'm just saying that If WWE wants me to start watching their program. They need to bring back the Attitude.

To me it's like this

WWF=Superman:

WWE is the weak version of Superman aka Scott Summers: John Cena is even duller than Cyclops. I personal think that Cyclops is the most dull Superhero ever.

Both have their pros and cons. WWF had a lot of great entertainment value because they pushed the envelope and were able to entertain both kids and adults with it. WWE is great because not only did they keep things entertaining (and still continue to do so) but they evolved the product to include more wrestling. The Attitude Era had wrestling, but the product was mostly entertainment. It's still entertainment now, but they amped up the actual wrestling to where you get a good blend of it. Just look at the Ruthless Aggression Era, it started right when around the time they became WWE and it's in my opinion (as well as some others) the best period in the company because it balanced wrestling and entertainment so well.

Really both the WWF and WWE eras have the things that makes them good and things that make them bad. It's how everything balances out in the long run that makes the product good. We can sit here all day and piss and moan about which era is the best. That's because we all have an opinion that forms from what tastes we have. The company reflects that tremendously well in my opinion. In the time they've open for business they've always had something for somebody. What one guy likes somebody else won't like. It's that simple. If you like the pre name change product, cool. If you like the product post name change, cool. Like what you like and don't let anybody say you're stupid for liking that.

P.S. Superman is the most boring, generic, and stale superhero of all time as far as my opinion goes.

One major difference I see is the lower-card wrestlers.

In the WWF, someone like "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan was over, when his music hit, the crowd was going to cheer big time. Same thing during the Attitude era. When someone like the Godfather came out, the could was excited.

Everybody knew Jim Duggan and the Godfather weren't ever going to be World Champs or main eventing PPVs. But they were over and there was a spot on the roster for wrestlers like that.

Today, it seems like a lower-card wrestler doesn't get much of a reaction at all.

that's because there is no low-card anymore.

Main Eventers

Former World Heavyweight Champions

Former "Next Big Thing"s

No-Card

Seriously though... People like JTG, Yoshi Tatsu, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Curt Hawkins, etc... combined they had less airtime in the WWE for the past two years than Hugh Jackman.

Ofcourse no one gives a shit when X wrestler squashes them after a jobber entrance in under 20 seconds

  • Too many sponsors to please now
  • Vince McMahon getting more older and senile day by day
  • WWE officials punishing talents for having a voice
  • Refusing to give a damn about anything other then who Cena feuds with or the World Heavyweight title

Those are the two biggest factors right there, Vince spends more time worrying about sponsors & the media & whether or not they'll get all p!ssy & so he has become nothing more than a glorified corporate kissa$$.

During the WWF Attitude days, you had groups like the Parents Television Council hounding Vince & he was like "screw you", now not so much....Vince's balls have dropped so low he almost has no balls any more.

Edit

Nevermind, I thought you said midcard for some reason.

If tag teams count, I would say 3MB and Los Matodores, along with Swoggle and El Torito are getting pretty good reactions lately. The Usos always do as well.

BINGO!!!!!!!

and this is what people fail to gets in their damn heads! the product id PG so they can keep their sponsors. and it has been documented(on dvd's, not dirtsheets) that Vince didn't even want to go the AE route but had to to compete against WCW. let it f****ng go people. the Attitude shit IS NOT coming back. besides, even if they did bring it back, pffff, it wouldn't be the same. it would be a piss poor watered down version that would suck so many donkey balls because they'd try too hard. *cough*WWECW*cough*
