Vince sits in a hotel room in Houston Texas, just three hours before he had been in a ring in front of thousands of die hard wrestling fans as one of the biggest heel turns in wrestling history had just happened. Wrestlemania X-7 was a success and WWF had just acquired WCW and ECW. Vince was going to meet with all the talent from the two promotions and offer jobs to those who he sees fit. He was happy with the recent times, but he felt this is a good end to the so called Attitude Era and time to start something new.

Vince lays his head down and falls asleep.

[Raw opens with a video package recapping the events from Wrestlemania X-Seven. It shows clips from Jericho/Regal, TLC II, Benoit/Angle, Shane/Vince, Triple H/Undertaker, and The Rock/Stone Cold. The crowd is ruckus and ready for the show as the pyro shoots everywhere at the ramp and we go to Jim Ross and Paul Heyman who breakdown WrestleMania and hype Raw. They announce that tonight Kane will go one on one with Triple H before they were cut off by the sound of Vince McMahon's music]
[Vince comes out and is nearly booed out of the building, he power walks to the ring with a microphone in hand and a smug look on his face. He makes it to the ring and talks about the fact he lost to his son Shane but only because Mick Foley poked his nose in his business when he shouldn't have. He then went onto talk about the main event between Stone Cold and The Rock, he says he had a good reason to help Austin and Austin had a good reason for accepting the help. McMahon says he has a couple of people he'd like to introduce tonight, the first being Stone Cold Steve Austin, he steps out the curtain and gets a negative reaction from the audience in his home state. Austin has the WWF World Title over his shoulder and walks to the ring. McMahon announces him as the new champion and they embrace one another with a hug. Austin is handed the mic and goes onto say he joined McMahon because he had to do what he needed to to win. He says that with Vince by his side they will accomplish anything and everything, and that Stone Cold will be the most dominant wrestler in WWF history. Vince then introduces the second person, which is Mick Foley who was the guest referee for the Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon Street Fight the night before. Vince asked Foley what made him think it was okay to attack him at WrestleMania and cost him the match. Before Foley could get his first word out Austin rushed him and hit him the title in the midsection and delivered a Stunner. He started barking orders to Vince, who went outside the ring and got a Steel Chair as he began coming in the ring The Rock's music hits and The Great One runs down the aisle with a steel chair in his hand, he smacks Austin over the head and signals for McMahon to try and step in the ring. McMahon instead grabs a microphone and tells Rock that he'll get his rematch fair and square, and not to worry. But as Vince goes to get in the ring The Rock runs to the ropes and pulls Vince in the ring he grabs Vince up and goes for a Rock Bottom but Stone Cold is up and pulls The Rock away, the two start trading punches before Vince hits Rock with the chair. Austin and McMahon begin stomping away and hitting The Rock with the chair until Austin grabs the mic and yells Oh Hell Yeah and they walk away]

European Championship
Eddie Guerrero© versus Test
The match started out with Test using his huge height and weight advantage to his advantage but Eddie soon got the advantage after a low blow when the ref had been distracted by Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. Eddie rolled Test up after the low blow but only got a two count. Test was able to hit a running powerslam but Eddie got his foot on the bottom rope before the three count. Eddie was able to counter a vertical suplex into a neckbreaker and then went to the top where he hit the Frogsplash for the three count to make his 1st title defense.
[After the match Eddie Guerrero and the rest of the Radicalz attacked Test before Chris Benoit rushed down to the ring and got the Radicalz out of the ring. He helped Test up as he yelled to Eddie that he was coming for his European Title]
---
[We come back from a commercial break to see the new WWF Tag Team Champions, Edge and Christian in the ring with microphones in hand. Edge begins to talk and they call out the Hardy Boyz and The Dudleyz to the ring. Both teams come out respectively and enter the ring but both teams being a bit hesitant. Edge stays on the mic and says no shady business tonight but that him and Christian want to congratulate all 4 of them for putting each other through hell last night, and even though they beat each other with chairs and ladders, and put each other through tables, that they earned their respect. Edge and Christian offer their hands for a sign of respect but just as Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley went to accept the handshake Edge began laughing, as did Christian. Christian got the mic and said that if they really thought they had respect for these two second rate teams they had to be some of the dumbest people in the whole WWF. Bubba Ray, D-Von, and both Hardy brothers didn't take acception to that as Bubba began throwing rights at Christian alongside his partner as The Hardys started attacking Edge. Bubba and D-Von ended up hitting the 3-D on Christian as Matt Hardy hit Edge with a Twist of Fate as Jeff climbed to the top and delivered a Swanton Bomb. Jeff and Matt Hardy began celebrating over top of E&C and then picked up the tag title belts and held them up high as D-Von and Bubba Ray grabbed the mic and said not to get comfortable because The Dudleyz would be the next tag team champions. As The Dudleyz left the ring Commisioner William Regal came out and announced that this Thursday on Smackdown! it'll be The Hardy Boyz vs The Duldeyz and the winner of that contest will face Edge and Christian for the tag title belts. But he told The Hardyz to be ready because they have a match tonight]
---
Kurt Angle versus Tazz
Tazz and Angle start the match with a simple collar and elbow tie up. Tazz was the first to get control but slipping to Angles backside and pulling his leg from under him. Tazz backed up and smirked at Angle who was obviously taken back by that. After a few more lock ups both men taken the other one down and after the traditional wrestling exchange Tazz tried turning it into a brawl with Angle, he began throwing huge rights and lefts to the body and then after banging up Angle's kidneys and ribs hit a big northern lights suplex and bridged but Angle rolled the shoulder at 2. Tazz stood up and stomped away at Angle's ribs. As Angle crawled to his feet Tazz ran towards him but Angle pulled Taz's leg and rolled away into the Ankle Lock. The Gold Medalist had it in for just a second before Taz turned over and kicked Angle away. Tazz jumped up and Angle ran forward for a clothesline but The Human Suplex Machine ducked and gripped him and hit a huge German Suplex. He stood up and taunted, the fans were behind Tazz as he went over to the corner and climbed to the second rope and came down with an elbow to the back of Angle's neck. Tazz stood up and dropped a knee to the back of Kurt's neck not once but twice. He then lifted him up and threw him the middle rope and went outside the ring where Angle hit a back elbow to the midsection and threw Tazz into the barricade. Angle began nursing his neck but back on the attack but ended up getting Belly to belly suplexed over the security barricade. The fans started chanting "Holy Shit" as Tazz rolled under the ring as the refs count was at 6 and he happily took the count out victory.
[Tazz got his hand raised and he began to climb each rope and celebrate but not before Angle was back in the ring and went to attack Tazz, but Tazz countered and locked in the Tazzmission, he ended up maing Angle pass out. Shades of last years Royal Rumble. Tazz asked for a mic and said only three words "Now that's impressive"]
---
[We go backstage where The Undertaker is in his locker room alongside his brother, The Hardcore Champion Kane. Undertaker tells him that if anything gets fishy tonight against Triple H that he'll be there at a drop of a dime. Kane says he's not worried about HHH. Undertaker then says he has to get ready for his own match]
---
The Hardy Boyz vs Justin Credible and X-Pac
The match started with Matt and X-Pac in the ring your basic tag team match throughout, X-Pac kept Matt isolated for a few minutes. Matt Hardy was able to hit a swinging neckbreaker and crawl to the tag to his brother on the other side of the ring Credible was tagged in but was met with a Forearm smash and another as he jumped up. Matt got back in the ring and him and Jeff both brothers hit a few right hands on Justin Credible before Matt threw him to the corner and Jeff threw X-Pac, who just came under the ropes, out of the ring. Matt had dropped down to his knees and Jeff ran and hit Poetry and Motion on Credible who stumbled out of the corner into a Twist of Fate from Matt. Matt then springboarded over the top rope and hit a cross body block on X-Pac. In the ring Jeff Hardy was on the top and hit a Swanton and covered Credible for the win.
---
[We come back from a commercial break with Chris Jericho in the middle of the ring with his Intercontinental Championship title. He has a microphone and talks about how last night at Wrestlemania he showed the Corrupted Commisioner William Regal why he shouldn't try and outdo the best wrestler in the WWF. He said that after last night in front of a capacity crowd at WrestleMania he showed why he is and will be for as long as he wants to be the WWF Intercontinental Champion. He says that he is willing to take an open challenge from anyone in the back who thinks that they can take the Intercontinental Title from him at Backlash. He waits for a minute and nobody comes out he says that he wouldn't wrestle himself either, he thanks his JerichoHolics for coming out to Raw is Jericho and goes to walk out of the ring when music hits the PA System and the crowd pops hard when they see who it is walking out from the back, it's CURT HENNIG. Mr. Perfect has came back to the WWF. Mr. Perfect throws his towel in the air and catches it and spits his gum out and walks to the ring. Jericho is backing up but Hennig asks for the mic Jericho tosses it at the ground. Perfect lifts up the mic and tells Jericho he may thinks he's the best but he's nowhere near perfect. And if he really wants a challenge at Backlash then he better accept the Perfect Challenge and try to beat the most perfect technician of all time. Jericho says he accepts and puts his hand out and the two shakes hands and as Perfect turns to walk away Jericho attacks him from behind, and ends up locking him in the Walls of Jericho and doesn't let it go until a group of authorities come down and pull him away. Jericho walks away running down Hennig as Perfect lies in the ring nursing his legs as doctors and officials try to aid him to his feet]
---
The Undertaker versus The Big Show
This match was a brawl from the time the bell first sounded. After a little over ten minutes Raw went to commercial and when it returned Undertaker had Big Show in the corner and hit him with a bunch of right hands before using a little bit of Old School on the Big Show. Taker followed it up with a leg drop and went for the cover but Show powered out. Undertaker lifted Big Show but got hit in the midsection with Show's huge fist. Big Show used a couple knee lifts on Taker before throwing him to the ropes when Taker came back he got caught by the throat and Big Show wanted the Chokeslam but Taker hit an uppercut and then a toe kick to the stomach. He put Big Show in position for the Last Ride but before he could even try and get the giant up he was backdropped. Show quickly dropped his whole 500 pound frame on Undertaker before Taker could move. Show then lifted Taker up and hit a Chokeslam. He covered but Undertaker somehow kicked out before the three. Big Show was outraged and grabbed the referee and pushed him into the corner. The referee called for the bell and The Undertaker won by DQ, but Big Show wasn't done yet he Chokeslammed the referee and left the ring.
[undertaker got to his feet after the match and helped the ref up and patted him on the back before Raw went to a commercial]
---
[We come back from the break and go backstage where Michael Cole is standing by with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Triple H says that last night was a fluke and that there is no way in hell The Undertaker could beat him again. He says that tonight he'll show Undertaker what he is really capable of after he beats Kane. HHH says he won't stop there though, and that he will end Kane's career he tells Undertaker that he better not watch because it's gonna be as painful to watch as it will be for Kane]
---
[We go to the locker room of Stone Cold Steve Austin where him and Vince McMahon are talking amongst each other. Vince tells HHH that Rock has invoked his rematch clause and he wants it at Backlash. Steve is outraged but Vince calms him down, he tells him that he has an idea and that is impossible for Rock to walk out of Backlash as the champion. Austin tells Vince he trusts him and Austin cracks open a beer before the camera fades out]
---
Triple H w/Stephanie McMahon versus Kane
This match was a battle from the start but at the 12 minute mark Kane had full advantage he had just delivered a sideslam and went to the top rope. As he stood perched at the top Stephanie McMahon got on the apron but the ref forced her down, but she bought enough time for HHH to pull the top rope effectively knocking Kane down. HHH dropped a knee to Kane's head and covered but Kane kicked out at 1. HHH mounted Kane and began throwing thunderous right hands at The Big Red Machine. HHH pulled Kane to his feet by the hair and placed him in the corner where HHH continued throwing rights and lefts to the head and the body. Kane finally ducked underneath one put Hunter in the corner and then started driving his shoulder deep into the abdomen of the game. Kane had Triple H right where he wanted him as HHH staggered out of the corner but got caught with a big boot which sent him over the top rope, and crashing to the floor. Raw went to a commercial break but when it came back HHH had Kane in a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring but until Kane lifted him up and dropped him with a Samoan drop like move. Triple H crawled to his feet but was met with a huge uppercut which bounced HHH off the ropes Kane went for a Chokeslam but Triple H kicked him in the midsection. The Game went for a Pedigree but Kane pushed him away and threw him to the ropes. HHH bounced back and went for the Harley Race like high knee but Kane sidestepped and HHH took out the referee. HHH turned around Kane hit him with a huge Chokeslam that shook the whole arena. Kane went for the cover and you could have counted all night by the referee was down and out and as Kane tried getting the ref up Mrs. Helmsley came in the ring and lowblowed Kane. She then gave HHH something out of her pocket. It's handcuffs, The Game has a pair of handcuffs. As HHH goes to restrain Kane, Undertaker comes out from the back but as he hits the ring Stephanie jumps in front of her husband to protect him. Undertaker steps forward and grabs Stephanie and pushes her out of the way but HHH strikes Taker in the forehead with the cuffs. He then hits a Pedigree on Kane who just stood up and as the ref comes too HHH covers him and gets the three count.
[Triple H doesn't stop there though. He mounts Undertaker and starts throwing fists at the American Bad Ass. Triple H then pulls Undertaker the corner and handcuffs him to the bottom rope. As Undertaker comes to Triple H crotch chops at him and Taker is outraged. HHH climbs underneath the bottom rope and goes under the ring and pulls out his famed Sledgehammer. He goes back in the ring and as Kane crawls to his feet hit him right between the eyes with it. Kane drops like a ton of bricks and HHH continues the onslaught by dropping the hammer deep into Kane's midsection, several times. Undertaker is kicking his feet around and screaming to The Game but Triple H just walks over casually and poses in front of Undertaker with the sledgehammer in hand before hitting Undertaker in the head with it and leaving the ring. Triple H and his wife walk up the ramp both somehow looking satisfied after the heinous actions he had just committed. Raw goes off the air with Triple H and Stephanie at the top of the ramp as medical attention is brought out for Kane and Undertaker]

I thoroughly enjoyed reading that, i'll admit at times with the shows that we all write i do sometimes just skip them and look for the result however this gave good brief details of the matches and weren't to me too long to make you feel like just wanting to find the result. I like how Perfect was bought back and obviously hope that something good could be planned for Commissioner Regal in the future, but i look forward to reading Smackdown
