BREAKING NEWS: Daniel Bryan travels time

Daniel Bryan and Husky Harris became close friends during their time on NXT. When Bryan is fired after the tie-choking incident, he starts tinkering around with an idea for a time machine. At some point Bryan, still upset over his firing, mentions the idea to Harris and reveals his plan to become the most popular and successful wrestler of all time by stealing the future’s greatest gimmicks.

He tells Harris that the machine works but he believes it is too dangerous to be used due to its potential side effects on the user’s brain. Harris tells Bryan to destroy it, arguing that he should focus on training and improving himself in the ring because simply becoming popular with the fans by using the machine would not guarantee victory. Bryan refuses to destroy it because he believes that the machine is his greatest work and instead asks Harris to keep it away from him so that he will not be tempted to use it. Harris agrees and swears never to use the machine himself.

However, after a punt to the head by Randy Orton, Harris is not thinking clearly. Unbeknownst to Bryan, Harris uses the machine to travel far into both the past and future. After years of journeying across time and space, Harris has experienced severe psychological side effects. He finds himself stranded and confused in the Louisiana bayou, where he is taken in by a mysterious Sister Abigail. Harris comes to believe that his true identity is that of messianic figure Bray Wyatt, and that his life as Husky Harris was an illusion. Wyatt returns to April 2012, killing and replacing the Husky Harris of that time (hence why Wyatt claims he is “already dead”). He soon debuts in WWE with newly acquired followers Luke Harper and Erik Rowan.

As he witnesses Bryan’s considerable WWE success, Wyatt becomes suspicious. He kidnaps Bryan and confronts him. He discovers that Bryan had built a second time machine and traveled into the future, where he stole the “YES!” catchphrase from future universally loved mega-face Bo Dallas. Bryan had even gone far enough to plant the seeds for the catchphrase in the past. Wyatt and Bryan’s feud culminates on the final Raw of 2013, where Bryan finally admits that Bray was right and that no matter how much he got the fans to cheer for him, the machine would never let him win.

The two men agree to destroy their machines, but as they attempt to do so, one of the machines malfunctions, sending Bryan into the past. Bryan uses his knowledge of wrestling to obtain a job with the World Wrestling Federation, which he uses as an opportunity to steal cables and other technology to build a new time machine and return to the present, where he and Bray Wyatt can not only put an end to the chaos caused by their adventures across time, but also combine forces to achieve the kinds of wrestling success that Bryan could never have achieved by ripping off future Bo Dallas.
