Vampiro
I may seem like Im venting but Im not. I make alot of very cool looking caws on the xbox 360 anda lot of my work is on the first few pages of CC. A couple of things Ive noticed is people downloading my caws and reuploading them as there own, yeah my mistake for not turning that off, I mean come on someone does the work and gets 550 dl's and 50+ reviews as an example and Joe Blow suddenly downloads your caw and makes it as his own, you send him an a message saying give credit, and your called a whiney little cry baby ? Then they get mad when you say dont do it again, they go and give a "boo" review to all your caws and thats just immature in my book. Im just saying if your going to download a caw make a tweak and reupload give credit to the original owner in comments. Its only respectful. But to the thiefs that steal caws looking for self glory the lazy way you just a loser noob with no talent at all.

WWF WrestleFest
I never understood why people bother stealing caws or why people bother getting upset by it. Who cares? You're not getting anything, just some credit from someone who you've never even met. Unless I see a cool CAW on this site and then go download it, I never even look at who made the CAW I'm downloading. If it's really a great CAW, i might search the other CAWs he's made to see if there's anything else good on there, but by the time I exit Community Creations, I've already forgotten the CAW maker's username. I've uploaded a few CAWs so far on PS3, a great Legion of Doom, Sting, and Lex Luger. I'll be uploading more soon as well. But I have no Idea if any of them have been copied by someone else and re-uploaded, I never bother searching for them after I upload them, I don't even know how many times they've been downloaded. I never check. I don't really care. I upload CAWs because someone who's a fan of those wrestlers might enjoy using them. I don't upload them for the credit. CONight
I put 3 CAWS up on PS3. One is a completely original character, which has gotten a download. The other two are real wrestlers that are not that well known, (The Spoiler, the guy in my avatar image, and the Super Destroyer, who has been portrayed by several different wrestlers.) I've been making these guys since the last SvR or WWE '12. This is the first year I've seen someone besides myself make these guys. The others weren't just someone DLing mine and claiming them as theirs. I looked at them. Some jabroni gave a boo rating to my Spoiler CAW though. These other CAWs used a similar design to mine, but they are significantly different.
Vampiro
Im not bitching, my point is I spend hours to make a caw look awesome and some asshat downloads it and reuploads it saying its his work. I hate that and sorry if it sounds like bitching, if someone stole something from you and said it was there's you'd be upset too.

I used to think that way, but this year I noticed that someone stole my CAW and it really did feel bad. I put hours of my life into that CAW, I worked hard, and this guy claimed my work as his own. No, I don't get any profit from my work, but it's just my sense of justice that makes me think it's wrong to take someone else's work and claim credit for it. CONight
If you guys are all very concerned about this, and I'm not saying you shouldn't be, then I have a suggestion going forward: Add a personalized watermark to all your CAWs via the custom logo tool---and yes you can do this. You can even make it transparent, depending on where you place the logo. You can also add the watermark logos to your existing CAWs and replace them on the servers if you wish. You may lose the records of downloads/reviews/etc., but it's up to you how important all that is vs ownership.

TheGreatWallOfChinoy
I feel for you man. Plagiarism is never okay.On a side note, is there an easy way to view your own uploads? I uploaded a custom logo for backup but I don't see an easy way of viewing it unless I search for it.

american dream
go to the "user only" option.. to see your uploads. and I gave up on this yrs. ago.. since it seemed I was in the wrong for complaining about thievery. People will find a way to steal your work. I always give credit if I use some one's morphing, p. tool, etc... shame more people do not do this, because they are glory hogs. Turning off the re-upload only goes so far.. cause if they want it bad enough... they'll download it, and write down the morphings.. and if they are good at paint tool.. nba2kfanman
Caw thieves are taking the act to a whole level now. The rude thing is not giving proper credit. Some are not even re-uploading, they copy the formulas by hand. This mark took my n.w.o Hogan paint tools and transferred it by using a 2nd tv screen and PS3 and copying my logos to 2k14. Here's my gripe, it's a waste of space on CC to have the same old stuff uploaded or copied PT's for a Hogan model that's already in the game. A re-upload won't change the face that it can still be stolen. Times are changing because the caw system hasn't.

nystyle
Thats the risk you take unfortunately. I had 3 caws in wwe 12 re uploaded and no credit given, but i knew when i uploaded them there was a chance it would happen. Im not making money off my caws. Cant copyright them. Putting them out in a very public forum its bound to happen. If it really upsets people they shouldn't upload them then in the first place. Odd how fans will complain like hell if someone uses one of their CAWs and use the word steals. That sounds a little harsh considering these same fans never got permission to create a copyrighted character in the first place.
jdbchurch
Yeah. Odd how fans will complain like hell if someone uses one of their CAWs and use the word steals. That sounds a little harsh considering these same fans never got permission to create a copyrighted character in the first place. I come to caws.ws to post previews in the PS3 section. I read the General Chat section for the humour. The thing is if someone created a thread here and posted a bunch of caws that weren't theirs they would be slammed by the community and then banned, probably. But when someone posts a thread about how annoying caw "thievery" is, the majority response is "quit complaining" or "get over it". I suspect most people giving these responses are not creators themselves...
