European Championship. More variety. Would be great for someone like Cesaro, while the Cruiserweight Titles restricts the number of wrestlers competing for it.

Wouldn't you want the opposite, then? The European championship could be held by anybody (so it would be just another mid-card title), while the Cruiserweight provides an entire division that we haven't seen since like 2006.

Gregory Helms was GOAT.

Exactly. There's no reason why anyone who would be going for the European title couldn't just go after the US or Intercontinental title instead. The European title could be a gimmick title for people of European origin...but that would be it. Cesaro could hold it, because he's Swiss. But then what? The Cruiserweight title could actually generate an entirely fresh division.

Also, I could totally see Fandango claiming that he only weighs 225, and trying to win the Cruiserwight title...going to extreme lengths to fake his weight, etc. Comedy gold right there.

Well, who's to say they'll actually bother with the Cruiserweight Title too by focusing on the entire division, rather than just centering it around 2-3 guys at most at a time? Thing is, they just need to be committed to focus on the superstars with a new title; they can do it with the European Title, as well as the Cruiserweight Title - it depends on their commitment and effort more than the title. Now that I think of it, I won't mind them bringing back the Cruiserweight Title either, provided they actually make use of it, but the reason I said European Championship is because it could practically be held by anybody, and not just limited to Cruiserweights. And, yes, while the US and IC Title have the same purpose, may be the reintroduction of a new title would give them new motivation, to promote it to the newer audience?

Lmao you just booked a story in one sentence and I legit LOL'd at how awesome that would be.

The Intercontinental/US titles are doing better these days in regaining a bit of prestige, we all should admit that. Yet, it's not at the point where we're ready to have another singles title. Until we get 6-10 more established/credible contenders, then there's room for more gold. That's why the unification of the Women's and Tag titles were necessary at the time - no depth.

How they'd introduce these additional cruiserweights? I don't know exactly, but there were rumors of a cruiserweight-specific show (unless that just turned into NXT.)

Cruiserweight Championship... no question. Guys like Tyson Kidd, Evan Bourne, Sin Cara deserve it.

In fact, I think when Rey returns he should re-debut the Cruiserweight Championship and have a segment where he pretty much brings light to it and makes it official that it's back. Then he can feud with those guys for the Cruiserweight Title until he retires.

It would be a nice way for the prestige to automatically be brought back to the title when brought back by Rey Mysterio and it would be a nice send off for Rey with his last match in WWE being against the next top Cruiserweight for the Cruiserweight Title.

My friend's sis was the Women's Cruiserwieght European Champion in Knokx Pro. And I just found that hilarious.

Talk about an obscure title. Well, that's a nice achievement anyway, I suppose.

It was just really weird seeing someone you used to play pranks on turn heel and win a championship.

Both would be a terrible idea, honestly. The WWE's cruiserweight division was poorly handled, and there are already so many championships that bringing in the European title would only diminish their value even more. Right now, I see things like this:

Main event: WWE

Upper mid-card: World Heavyweight

Mid-card: Intercontinental

Tertiary (ex. WWF European; WCW Television): WWE United States

That said, I wouldn't mind bringing back the European Championship after (if) they drop all of the WCW titles altogether.

Cruiserweight Championship comes back and the other 90% of the roster we never see gets to shine.

Remember when people like Jamie Noble were a BIG part of SmackDown! and were featured consistently and heavily?

Where the wrestlers of that division got to showcase their character and show out in the ring?

I rest my case. [/thread]

For some reason, this post sounded sarcastic when I read it, but I don't think it was intended to be...since Jamie Noble really did have some pretty decent storylines.

I prefer the Cruiser but I'd say bring in the European title as it would give people like Jackson and Ryan something to do as well as the cruisers.

Voted the Cruiserweight Championship, because it'd make for exciting match-ups and it'd elevate guys like Gabriel, Kidd, Bourne or even Yoshi (not to mention NXT talent like Pac). I loved the Cruiserweight Division, I'd love to see it back (as long as Hornswoggle stays away).

The European Title is no different to the US and IC Titles, either replace the US Title with it or don't bring it back at all.
