Backstage Heat on Hulk Hogan for 2K Video Game Deal

Even though people appear to be fine with Hulk Hogan making a deal with 2K Sports to appear in WWE2K14, many within the company took it as a slap in the face of TNA.

Hogan's contract with the company is also set to expire in the next couple of months. Hogan was not at the last pair of Impact Wrestling tapings as a cost saving measure, but will be returning at this Thursday's taping in Cleveland, OH.

As we have reported before, Hulk Hogan has signed booking licenses outside of TNA, including one with 2K Sports to appear in WWE 2K14. This is said to have upset many people backstage at TNA. Furthermore, it looks like he has more heat backstage now thanks to his non-TNA media booking appearances. This is specific to his appearance in an arm wrestling match againt Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. This garnered him an extreme amount of attention internationally, but there was no mention of him working in TNA.

After all of this time, it looks like TNA is wondering whether or not Hogan is worth the money that they are paying him. As they continue to restructure and cut costs, PWInsider.com is reporting that there is internal discussions about where the company is headed and if Hulk Hogan will be involved in those plans.

Regarding another match, Hogan said he could potentially work a tag team bout but could not work a one-on-one match with somebody.

As noted earlier, there reportedly was heat on Hulk Hogan in TNA for booking a licensing deal with 2K Sports to appear in the WWE 2K14 video game. Eric Bischoff since then has shot down reports, stating that there is no deal between both parties. Bischoff posted the following Tweets:

"Interesting to read the 'choir of idiots' suggesting that Hulk did a deal with 2K Sports. Illustrates just how ignorant these 'experts' are And how these 'experts' are attempting to frame a narrative to sell thier b.s.

"There is no Hulk Hogan/2K Sports deal. WWE is simply utilizing tradmarks/assets they currently own in a repackaged video game. Nothing new. But thats not what the parasites and morons who run dirt sites want you to know."

TNA agreed to allow him to deal with outside licenses in his contract (they share the blame). As the past has shown, Hogan is not a company man, he looks out for himself and himself only, this shouldn't be shocking to anyone in TNA, does know one in the company remember WWE All-Stars?. If TNA gets rid of Hulk in a few months, I bet he'll be back with WWE within a few months and will be bashing TNA on how minor they are in wrestling and how much of a mistake it was to go there, like every other former World Champion.

I'm not buying this. He appeared in All Stars, and when RVDwas in 12. Reports came out that TNA understood he had a separate deal with thq. Now they don't think the same for Hogan?

And if Hogan doesn't resign with TNA, that will be a blessing.

TNA has come to this conclusion after 4 *censored*ing years? We could have told you day 1. Hulk Hogan goes into business for HIMSELF, he only cares about HIMSELF, that's why he gets creative control and licensing perks, and it's probably the only reason why TNA actually signed him, because he wouldn't have given them a second look. They should have fired him when he buried Bobby Roode after he won the Bound For Glory series, they should have fired him when he said that the entire TNA roster couldn't have survived in his era and would have been "bagging his groceries", they should have fired him for not promoting them at all, they should have fired him when the "sex tape" was released, the list goes on and on. Stop being loyal to someone who doesn't give a shit about you.

The comment that Dixie Carter is the nicest person in the wrestling business is 100% true. She continues to hire and stay loyal to guys that continue to bash and exploit her kindness, what else could explain how guys like Vince Russo, Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff & Hulk Hogan stay employed for so long, the same "politicians" who ran WCW into the ground.
