Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: EVERYONE is here!

The dog from Duck Hunt is in this game?!?! AWESOME!!!

... Well time to buy a Wii!

It will feel good to get back into this series as I haven't played Smash Bros since the first game. I played Melee once at somebody's house back in the day, but only for a short while.

... Finally, I can get my sweet revenge on that little bastard who has laughed at me after all those years ago!

I've spent the past 4 or 5 For Glory matches losing because of lag and I'm so *censored*ing done

I just SD and leave if there's noticeable lag. Not worth my time playing on a connection like that, I pay for good internet for a reason. I usually make the game back in the next one anyways

PS. Whats your DS tag? I've run into a ton of ZSS's on For Glory

BTW guys, apparently, you can check to see if a match will lag or not by choosing ZSS on the character select screen. If there is a "white flash" or something like that when you change attires, its almost guaranteed that the match will lag. I haven't tested this, but a bunch of guys confirmed it on Reddit.

Unfortunately, by older brother didn't have internet at his place yesterday (I went to watch his kids), so I had to play against CPU. That did help me to pick up Dr. Mario and Charizard though. Ha, I find it funny that whatever character I try to go in and main doesn't work out (I wanted to main either Rosalina, Game & Watch, or Lucario. None were my style).

Wanted to make MegaMan my 2nd in command, Charizard is just too awesome though!

I agree! I'm actually amazed at how great Charizard is. When I first played him, I thought that he was better than before, but he still sucked. Now I see he is a beast!

Well that's convenient. I'll give that a shot.

I think I'll be dropping Dr. Mario for Game & Watch. While I'm a fan of the Doc, his recovery is just too horrid. Perhaps once others find new tricks with him, I'll bring him back, but for now, see ya Doc.

I do have to admit though, it is fun to run off the stage with Dr. Mario and Up-B into a person coming back to the edge, bouncing them against the underside and killing them.

Dr Mario's aerials, Smashes, tilts, Up-B, and his Back-Throw (dunno why) are stronger than Mario's versions (this only accounts for identical moves, not the switches like Mario's tornado to spin kicks for Doc's D-air). Apart from the others, Doc's Up-B is now a kill move if hit on the first frame (much like Luigi's but easier to hit and not as strong).

While Mario's F-Air spikes, Dr. Mario's does not, however, it is 2% stronger when hit correctly.

Of course, Dr. Mario has the Mario Tornado as his D-Special, making his D-air spin kicks mentioned earlier. The Tornado has priority over many moves, such as Ganondorf's Side-B among others, and is also a kill move if you land the last hit. Using the Tornado in the air on someone with a high-ish percentage will guarantee a kill, much like ZSS using her Up-B on others.

Dr. Mario does not jump as high as Mario. Dr. Mario cannot jump as high as Ganondorf can when performing a full jump. This is bad for recovery, but good for approaching as his short hops allow him to use almost any aerial move out of a short hop. If your opponent continues to vector towards you and they are of mid-weight or higher, you can do shorthop backflips and hit multiple B-airs which do 13-14% each if hit correctly.

Finally, his taunts are quicker than Mario's (Dr. Mario doesn't have a taunt nearly as long as Mario's "growing" taunt).

------

I love how the only matches I'm losing now are ones that lag to hell. Why couldn't Nintendo at least make the match-making system match you up with someone that is close to you?

Thanks for in depth analysis (i never liked using Mario) but with the little differences Dr Mario has I may give him a shot.

No prob. You should definitely give him a try. You can perform some sick stuff with his Tornado, like using it on someone trying to recover at the edge and bounce them up against the bottom to kill them.

I met one guy that beat me down bad yesterday. Given I was playing as Dr. Mario instead of my main Yoshi, but still. I lost a couple percent on my win rate. I've gained one back. I've got another 27 wins to go before I have 80% again (given I don't lose again).

Couldn't they just tech it?

They def can, but I promise you pretty much no one I've faced on the Smash Forums tech stage spikes. Takes them all by surprise for whatever reason. People in this smash seem completely bewildered at gimping recoveries. I'm not great at it with my Falcon so I rarely go, but when I do the person seems to panic and missed the ledge either way
