SuicidalKissesProduction™ Posted March 20, 2012 Report Share Posted March 20, 2012 Besides that Jerry "The King" Lawler & Micheal Cole does Commentary for everything, what is your main issue with Commentary? My issues are the Repetitive or random nature of Commentary, such as With Randy Ortan at the beginning of the match for no reason they'll start talking about how he's going to "That place in his head". When in fact, neither superstar had done anything. There is also the Old Commentary Left in for CM Punk, but to an upside there is neat commentary pieces (Few but they are there) such as When Kane is Wrestling Jerry Lawler will say "I think Kanes looking over in our direction" and then you hear "Don't make Eye contact Micheal" which is neat or the Micheal Cole Bytes for Danial Bryan matches. But in the end Commentary seems to lack something, mainly actual Match or Move calling whatsoever. The Literal lack of Call-Names for Commentary for CAWS & The Predictable Three Specific Call-Name Phrases such as "The Phenom" earns you the catchline "That was a Phenominal move", "the Show" earns you the catchline "that was a showstopper". But then you have the large amount of Old Rivalry notification commentary about certain superstars/Divas on the roster depending on who is facing who... What's your main issue with commentary? THQ should have them recond ALL NEW lines. not one line should be recycled. another issue with WWE'12 commentary i have is the same issue as SvR11. when you are playing a divas match Coleor Lawler will refer to one of the divas as 'him'. wtf? when having a match with the superstars and you hit a finisher(like Orton hitting an RKO on Miz) Cole or Lawler will something like "Ohmy god she just nailed her with the Chick Kick"........wtf? it's not as bad in WWE'12 like SvR11 was, but it still happens. i would like to see Josh Mattews and JR in the next game. even getting to mix and match in Universe mode. Cole will ask Lawler something, Lawler is silent. Cole will ask another question, Lawler is silent, the third time Cole says something Lawler will speak. this happens to me about 2-3matchs of every 5 matchs. The lines that seem to have been glitched out are anything that requires a variable response from King. Specific responses are still there. I by the skin of my teeth make an opponent tap. Most of the lines have been around since 2006 so I think it's about time they record some new material besides 20 character specific lines. Oliber. Posted March 21, 2012 Report Share Posted March 21, 2012 If anyone here played KoC and understand japanese, then you will know it has one of the greatest commentary ever. The fact that we get to switch the color commentator (along with Giant Baba on the 1st game). The fluidity of the commentary, and variations. Example, you use a piledriver. For example, "What a massive suplex!" & "His back was slammed across the mat from that suples. But of course the more common moves like the suplex, ddt, headlock & even piledrivers should have much more than that. They should also make it so that the commentators actually talk about the feuds going on with different universe characters. For example john cena has a feud with Kane, but they aren't really connected to the match, or are in the main event, and they would say something like this : Cole: Well our main event tonight is JOHN CENA(generic john cena sound byte) vs Kane. Lawler: This feud is at its highest level! I wonder how it will escalate further! So yeah i didnt even answer the OPs Q. My main issue is the poor variety of commentary bytes, and stupid ones repeated over and over and over. Like Lawler always says(memorized it btw): You know what I like best about summerslam! The Divas! Every year we get to see divas in bikinis! WE ALL KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT SUMMERSLAM! NOW SHUT YOUR POTHOLE! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RnC Posted March 24, 2012 Report Share Posted March 24, 2012 Mine are pretty much the same as several people on here Lack of enthusiasm-Lawler and Cole sound like they have been labotomized or are watching paint dry...I want the "oh my God!"s and the "DID YOU SEE THAT?!" lines for epic matches, TLC matches and HIAC etc Repetition-Lawler and Cole churn out the same line over, and over, and over and OVER Lack of outro lines-I am SO sick of "There is no way to underscore this victory....maybe the biggest in his life" or "You can bet this match is going to be discussed heavily on WWE.com" or the lines on whether it was a gruelling match(when it wasn't) or the near squash matches(which are usually back and forth with big moves and near pinfalls! Commentary flow-Mainly the Cole asking Lawler a question and Lawler not answering, but also the old "favourite" you doing a DDT and one of them saying "what a suplex!" Lawler or Cole talking then in mid sentance cutting to another line, the gender issues like referring to a male wrestler as "her" or vice versa Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When I'm playing the game, I usually tune out the commentary, but once the match is over, I do listen. And EVERY SINGLE TIME it's either "this was an even, back and fourth match" or "He just never got out of the starting gate blah blah blah". It just gets annoying. At least it's better than "A ladder's been added to the mix! A ladder's been added to the mix! A ladder's been added to the mix!" being said 50 times in a row during the ladder matches in 2010. I did a missile dropkick with Cody Rhodes, and he said. "Swinging neckbreaker by Cody." I did a clothesline with William Regal and King said "He's got the Regal Stretch locked in!"
