Crazy Moon
Most of the ones that are American sites, unlike this one since it's a UK site(UK is the right area, isn't it?), but just because this site won't be shut doesn't mean it won't lose a lot of it's members since a good bit are Americans and Caws.ws would have "copyright infringing" material. SniperOps
I dunno if they would track us all down though. And I don't think most sites would close down, just change the guidelines... A LOT.
Lyriqz ✪
Well they sites are accesable outside of the U.S right ? Most site's would just change servers and users in the states could use proxy's.
Rockstar™
Anything with copyrighted material, so for e.g if a member of a forum posted something like that the site would probably get taken down. And if it does pass that is just the start.

I was under the impression no site would be safe not even this one. So basically the site would get in trouble if people used any pics they didnt own in their avatar and the all stars pic on the top of the site would have to be changed. I suppose if the bill did actually go through the only internet sites around would be newspapers, wwe.com and supermarket sites.

I'm assuming sites based in the US will be removed completely, and sites based outside the US will just be blocked for Americans.

No, not just US sites, based on the US's alliances with other countries, they can sue any web owner.
EDGEHEAD15
I think there's a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to SOPA/PIPA. The bill was originally made so that it stops the 'lesser-known' pirate-hosting websites from using copyrighted material. HOWEVER, the way in which the bill was so badly worded made it so that the powers that be could basically take down any website they wanted that hosted just one piece of copyright material without permission etc. The person who posted the material would be fined and/or imprisoned and to Americans ONLY, the website would be BLOCKED (not taken down). If you think this doesn't effect anyone outside of USA, then you'll be wrong. Quite recently, a British student was extradited for creating a website that let OTHERS post links to pirated or copyrighted material. He never once posted a single piece himself, yet he was fined thousands by the British and is now facing American Law, when he's never even set foot in the country. Also, a website out of USA (including this one) can still be blocked inside USA, which basically could kill a company and bankrupt them.

He is the first one. He never did anything illegal, but laws and bills change.

He is the first one. He never did anything illegal, but laws and bills change. Exactly. I mean, it's not like this shit's been happening for the last goodness-knows amount of Centuries, with things like the Crusades and India's independence, but to actually ALLOW another country to take one of your citizens and do what they want with them is disgusting. In fact, if that country wasn't USA and was a country from say, the Middle-East, it'd be a catalyst for another war, but because it's Britain's younger, big brother, we go 'Oooohhhhh alright then, as long as you behave yourself with them, I'll let you play with my toys...' And what happens when we let our younger brothers play with our toys people? That's right! They get set on f*cking fire.
