Because at this time Trish had sided with Christian who was managed by Tomko so he was her manager/bodyguard, They were also feuding with Chris Jericho after Trish double-crossed him at WM XX, so he(Tomko) was brought in as a "problem solver" to deal with their "problem" (Y2J).
