The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting WWE has backed off on signing Moose right now due to a past domestic violence allegation with he was in the NFL, given the timing of recent issues with Jerry Lawler and Adam Rose.

It was noted that Moose was told the door is still open for him in the future; he was reportedly expected to be a part of the Fall class at the WWE Performance Center. Moose has also had offers from Lucha Underground and TNA, and he could always stay with ROH. It was reported that TNA offered a deal around $100,000 per year, which is the most of anyone, but plans for his ROH future could always change. According to the Observer, there are no plans with Moose being booked going forward, and plans were likely laid out with the impression he was already leaving, citing losses on TV and PPV, but he could still stay with the promotion.

Silas Young wrote the following on Twitter this morning:

A year ago yesterday I signed a one year contract with @ringofhonor I guess that means I'm a free agent now.

— silas young (@lastrealmanROH) July 1, 2016

We are told the two sides are currently in discussions for a new contract.

Ring of Honor star Moose is no longer locked down to an exclusive deal and Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned he’s currently contemplating offers from multiple companies — including TNA Wrestling.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us an offer was recently made by TNA for the wrestler to join their roster … but ROH has made one as well, and they’re not the only ones.

We’re told Moose has also had discussions with AAA, and if he signs on the dotted line with their company, it could include a Lucha Underground gig.

The wrestler’s last match in ROH was a 6-man tag with Cheeseburger and Will Ferrara on June 25th. His team lost to The All Night Express and Caprice Coleman.

Our sources say Moose plans to make a decision by next week.

On another note, I watch the Women of Honor episode of ROH and oh my goodness Mandy and Hania put on a clinic! Those chicks are for real! Great wrestling, great storytelling. One of the best wrestling matches I've seen all year.

Bullet Club member and former Ring of Honor World Champion Adam Cole joined CBS Radio/106.7 The Fan DC’s Chad Dukes Wrestling Show last week to promote Ring of Honor’s Aftershock show THIS FRIDAY, July 8th in Baltimore, MD at the Myers Pavilion. During the interview Cole talked about joining the Bullet Club, being at the top of Cody Rhodes’ list and more.

The show airs live at 7pm on Wednesdays on 106.7 The Fan Washington DC (http://washington.cbslocal.com/station/106-7-the-fan/) and the full show is also available as a podcast on iTunes, Play.it, and
 http://chaddukeswrestlingshow.com/

On the Bullet Club:

“I think it goes without saying now that the Bullet Club is the most influential wrestling group that we’ve seen in years. It’s transcended not just New Japan Pro Wrestling, which was where it started, but now it has a strong presence in Ring of Honor, a strong presence in NXT, and even a strong presence on WWE television on Monday Night Raw, which is just insane. The Bullet Club itself was just a bunch of guys who were the most talented guys in the world. A lot of these guys were friends, a lot of these guys were showcasing to the entire world how talented and how good they are. To be a part of that group is huge for me, not just because of how popular the Bullet Club is, but because of my close personal relationship with guys like the Young Bucks and with guys like Kenny Omega. It’s my foot in the door in New Japan Pro Wrestling. I’ve been looking for a chance to get back over there for a while now and getting the chance to not only go back over to New Japan, but do it in a main role in the Bullet Club is pretty, pretty cool for me.”

On Being on Cody Rhodes’ list:

“Considering the kind of man that Cody Rhodes is, the kind of performer, like you said, that we know that he is, to be at the top of that list is really, really cool. And to me, Cody creating this list and doing what he’s doing is just showcasing even more how crazy pro wrestling in 2016 is. It almost has created this ‘Attitude Era’ feel, where you never know where guys are going to show up anymore. All your favorite guys in Ring of Honor could end up in WWE. You have guys in WWE leaving to come and do this Ring of Honor and New Japan schedule. A lot of people are going to get to see a lot of dream matches they never thought they’d see. A lot of people are going to see people pop up in promotions they never thought they’d see. It’s a great time to be a wrestler, it’s an even better time to be a wrestling fan right now.”

On the Vader/Will Ospreay-Ricochet Controversy:

“I understand where people are coming from, I totally get, you know someone like a Vader saying that he doesn’t like that particular style but my favorite thing about pro wrestling is there are so many different styles that there are and there are so many different styles that haven’t even been created yet. In the world of pro wrestling to me, we can create any reality that we want, and as long as there’s a niche group of fans, or a large group of fans, whatever it may be, that enjoy that particular piece of work and are interested and decide they want to tune into pro wrestling or they want to buy a DVD or buy a t-shirt or order a pay per view or even watch it on television, to me that’s a win. What we do is an art form. What we do is we entertain people. We create emotion out of people. For as many different styles as there may be for that group of fans, there are also an entire other group of fans that enjoy a particular different type of style. I love it, I love all of it. I love pro wrestling and as long as fans are being entertained and people are being entertained, then it’s a win for me.”

Hania has the potential to be a good wrestler. She has a neat character and she really does have a great sense of ring psychology. She's also very technically sound. My problem with her is the same problem that I have with most female wrestlers. Her moves look crisp, but they lack intensity. They look choreographed and diva-like. How come girls like Hania and Mandy Leon know how to properly pull off all of those great moves but they can't even run the ropes right or throw a punch that looks like it would actually hurt? Who is teaching these girls to somehow wrestle like Bret Hart while still getting around the ring like Kelly Kelly? Them being girls is no excuse. These are the fundamentals of wrestling, and I've seen girls master them. And it's not just them, it's almost everybody from the indies, to WWE, and even a lot of girls in Japan who should know better.

I was watching Lucha Underground's tag team match between Mariposa & Sexy Star vs. Ivelisse & Taya. As expected, there were some awkward little moments and hiccups. But I thought it was interesting that at a lot of points, they used their videography skills to switch camera angles at the right times and it made the match seem a lot better than it probably was in person. I also think that all of these girls know how to highlight their strengths and hide their weaknesses better than most. They usually don't attempt things out of their wheelhouse.

I think Women of Honor is a really cool concept. I like what I've seen so far and I think it's smart for them to try to capitalize on the growing popularity of women's wrestling, but I'd like to see them have matches that set them apart from the girls in NXT for example. I want to see more speed, intensity, and aggression and less generic technical wrestling.

Ring of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal was the most recent guest on the Ross Report with WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross. The two discussed everything from Lethal beginning his wrestling training at 16-years-old, his place as “the man” within Ring of Honor, the partnership between ROH and New Japan, Adam Cole, the Bullet Club, the Young Bucks and a whole lot more.

Check out the entire episode of Lethal’s interview on the Ross Report at PodcastOne.com.

Lethal also had high praise for Roderick Strong, who recently left Ring of Honor after a long career with the promotion:

“[Roderick Strong] to be honest, the best way I can describe him is one of the most finely tuned athletes that I’ve ever been in the ring with. It’s almost like he’s unreal; he’s a machine. That guy can go.” …. “We’re sad to lose him, but of course we’re happy to see him go on to bigger heights and new adventures.”

On his recent summer tour of the UK and getting to be a real WORLD champion through Ring of Honor:

“I love it in the UK. I believe that given the chance, I could definitely live there.” … “The fans were great. They all treated me like royalty, for lack of a better word. I can’t wait to go back. I was just in the UK a few weeks ago. There was a new promotion that started, and I got to wrestle Noam Dar, who is in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic that’s being filmed right now. They’ve got a lot of great talents in the UK, and I can’t wait to go back.” … “The coolest thing about that is for most of those dates, not only do I have the Ring of Honor world title with me, but some of those are real, sanctioned Ring of Honor world title matches.”

On Adam Cole, who is faces at the upcoming 8/19 ROH Death Before Dishonor PPV:

“Our styles really mesh well together. This is going to be one hell of a pay-per-view, because I’m coming for revenge. Adam Cole had the Bullet Club beat me down and shave my head. Now this babyface is out for revenge.”

Lethal and Jim Ross on the Bullet Club and WWE stealing the idea with Styles, Gallows and Anderson:

Lethal: “It’s the cool thing right now – it’s the new nWo. When NWO started it was the new cool thing, you could add or subtract a member as you please, and nobody would really shake a leg at it because it was so cool and popular at the time. I think each promotion out there right now, all the top ones anyway, have some form of Bullet Club or The Club in them. Ring of Honor, New Japan, WWE…”

JR: “As a former booker and a creative guy, I have no shame. If you’re doing something on your show that works, I may want to lift it and borrow it, and make it work for me too. That’s wrestling.”

On being “the man” in Ring of Honor and if he has to step up his game to hold onto that spot:

“There’s a reason that I’ve made it to this particular spot that I’m in on the card and in the company. I must be doing something right. When I can sit and watch the whole show go by, and they’re doing everything under the sun, because everybody wants to have ‘the match’, and everybody is stepping up their game – I’d like to thing that at the end of the day there isn’t too much I have to change, because I’m in that spot for a reason. To me it’s all about staying comfortable, and staying calm, and relaxing and trusting in my ability. But I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t hard to do. As the main event guy, you don’t want to go out there and have a stinker…”

“It can get to you – that pressure can get to you. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen it in other promotions that I’ve worked for. I’ve seen one guy from the main event yell at some guy that wasn’t in the main event for doing so much, because now it makes their job harder. But if I gotta complain to you about making my job harder, than I don’t think I know how to do my job.”

Would Lethal Go to WWE?:

“Most of the wrestlers from my generation, our love for professional wrestling started from watching the WWF. So me personally, it would be very cool, even if it was just for a minute, to get to work for the company that started my love for professional wrestling. Yes, I would definitely work for them, given the right time, given the right circumstance.”
