There may be hope for pro wrestling on Destination America after all. DA General Manager Mark Etkind recently left to take a similar role with The Science Channel and Jane Latman is now working as the DA General Manager.

Latman is currently evaluating all Destination America programming. Etkind had made the call to eliminate wrestling from the network but because both TNA and Ring of Honor do above the station average, Latman may have a different opinion and could keep wrestling on the network.

With that said, the problem with TNA hasn't been ratings but the costs involved. The latest word was that TNA would be off Destination America some time in early 2016 after the original plans to pull them in September became something of a legal issue, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

ROH is under contract with the network until early December but as of this week, they have not been renewed. ROH is under the impression that Latman has not made a decision on their future as of this week.

It's worth noting that an advertiser tried to buy time on Destination America for early 2016 on the wrestling hows and was told that they would not be airing any wrestling programming at that time. This happened about a month ago, before Latman came on. This indicates that the network advertising department was still under the impression that neither show would be kept on the air. The advertisement department also received the original memo from months ago where it said TNA would be gone at the end of September, before the deal was extended for a few months.

The Observer also noted that wrestling is said to be such a low priority at Destination America that it's never brought up or talked about among higher-ups.

As noted earlier, AJ Styles was kept off last weekends Ring of Honor television tapings due to a back-related injury.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Styles was dealing with a sciatic nerve issue, and he needed time off to rest. Regarding his return to the ring, ROH stated that Styles will be back for Final Battle, however Dave Meltzer mentioned that theres a possibility Styles is ready for the November 7th New Japan Pro Wrestling event in Osaka.

I see Michael Elgin has changed his look up a bit with the new theme, beard, nickname and lack of entrance jacket. But why doesn't he go all out and change his stupid attire? It sucks so bad. I hate that *censored*ing singlet.

ROH is no longer allowing any contracted talent, whether they have exclusive or non-exclusive deals, to work for AAA. The reason for this is because ROH, NJPW, and CMLL are trying to work out a three-way relationship.

NJPW doesn’t want ROH to work with their competitor, AAA, and because of that, ROH is attempting to open up business with CMLL.

noted, The Young Bucks recently signed a full-time deal with Ring of Honor. The new deal is for one-year, so you can expect to hear the various rumors to start up again next summer.

The new deal is exclusive for North America, except for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. They are still able to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling and NJPW actually encouraged the brothers to sign the ROH deal because officials don't want them getting hurt by working so many indie dates with how hard they go in the ring. NJPW's relationship with ROH will also give them the ability to coordinate dates for the Bucks.

The Bucks insisted on being able to still work for PWG. They also retain merchandising rights and get to keep their official t-shirt store with Pro Wrestling Tees. This is significant as no other ROH contracted talents, even though with non-exclusive deals, are allowed to have PWT stores. It's also worth noting that other similar deals, such as Jay Lethal, Bobby Fish, Adam Cole, ACH, The Briscoes and Kyle O'Reilly, do not allow them to work for PWG or anywhere else.

There's a feeling on the indie scene that this new deal shows ROH parent company Sinclair Broadcasting is willing to spend more money than ever before for talent, making it a major landmark deal.

Ring Of Honor is reportedly no longer allowing any contracted talent to work for AAA, regardless of if they have exclusive or non-exclusive contracts.

The reason being given is mostly because ROH, New Japan Pro Wrestling and CMLL Mexico are trying to agree on a working relationship. New Japan apparently prefers ROH talent not to work for AAA (although it was not explicitly said), and wouldnt want one of their title holders, like AJ Styles, working for AAA.

[in other news,] WWE is reported to be showing interest in ROH star Michael Elgin. The company is reported to be looking at him because of his buzz from working for New Japan, and hes seen as a guy who can get a niche brand like NXT over.

Ring of Honor stars compete in the 2015 World Tag League that kicks off on November 21st with the final on December 9th. After a great showing in this year’s G1 Climax singles tournament, “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin will team with Hiroshi Tanahashi in the World Tag League. This is a tremendous honor for Elgin who is excited to return to Japan where he enjoyed great success this past summer.

Also both the current and former Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions are a part of this star-studded field. In one bracket, the ROH World Tag Team champs, Michael Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis represent the Kingdom while in the other bracket, the former champions, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian represent the Addiction.

While fans will see Ring of Honor competitors in both Block A and B, the favorites are “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. Victorious in 2013 and finalists last year, the Bullet Club duo enters also as the IWGP Tag Team Champions as well as; last year’s champions, Hirooki Goto and Katsuyori Shibata who look to repeat as World Tag League champs. Here are the teams in the 2015 World Tag League:

Block A:

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin

Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma

Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi

Kauchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI

– In regards to Ring of Honor star Maria Kanellis indicating on Twitter that her contract is up at the end of this year, there has been talk of WWE being interested in her husband Michael Bennett and his partner Matt Taven, as a tag team, when their deals are up. No word yet if they are interested in bringing Kanellis back.
