The Third
BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar are coaching the next season of TUF and then fighting at 145 in April next year. Can't say I ever expected that.
Ömniscieɳce®
Yeah!!!! That's what I talkin about!!! I knew Shayna Baszler was overrated! Julianna Pena beat the crap out of her standing up. And witnessing Ronda Rousey crying like a little wuss is all more satisfying!!! I can't wait until Miesha beats her face in on December 28th. #TeamTate
RVF
Is anyone interested in that fight? Seems like a waste of Edgar.
Flawres
Is anyone interested in that fight? Seems like a waste of Edgar. Not in the least bit. Edgar deserves high caliber fights, I don't see anything BJ penn has done in the last 3 years to warrant a fight with the #5 Featherweight. Lunchbox
I thought White was begging Penn to retire? So now he lets him host TUF against a guy he lost to twice?
The Third
Frankie and Faber were meant to be coaches but they couldn't agree on which weight class to fight at. BJ got lucky in that he rang up Dana and told him he wanted to fight Frankie at the right time. Sure it doesn't make much sense, but I'm still excited to see both of them coach and then fight. Lunchbox
It just seems like a waste of a season. I saw Edgar beat Penn twice in a row. Penn hasn't fought probably a year and a half when the fight comes around what makes me want to see this. Sonnen vs Wandi should have been the coaches. Sonnen reading poems and Wandi just yelling like the crazy man he is.
Ömniscieɳce®
Ronda Rousey is such a crybaby.
MopOfVirtue
UFN 33 fight card is shaping up to be awesome. I'll be booking flights to Brisbane as soon as I get tickets. Hunt vs. Bigfoot, Shogun vs. Te-Huna, Barry vs. Palelei, Perosh vs. Bader, Andrews vs. Hester. I cannot wait.
Ömniscieɳce®
Amazing fight last night! Jones went through a war.
The Third
Nate Diaz just tweeted that he's dropping out of his fight with Gray Maynard at the TUF18 finale because he has a high school reunion that night. I don't know if it's serious or not, but if so that's hilarious. He never really struck as the kind of person who would finish high school. MopOfVirtue
There was this awesome image coming out of Jones vs. Gustafsson: It reminded me of a certain album cover, so I decided to go all photoshop on it. Hope you guys appreciate it
MopOfVirtue
Oh, this Bellator situation just got hilarious. Tito has pulled out with an injury. Eddie Alvarez won't be fighting on PPV as promised. They're considering moving Rampage/Tito to sometime next year. This is just too good.
RVF
Sometime next year meaning never, right? UFC doing over 30 shows next year is just too much. Really finding it hard to keep up with them all or to be interested in ones outside the biggest shows now.
MopOfVirtue
I've got a feeling that it won't happen at all too. As for the UFC doing 30 shows next year, I think it's a bad idea. The talent pool is deep, but not deep enough to be stretched that thin, especially with the risk of injury.
Lunchbox
I feel like that many shows is going to have way to many people earning title shots and waiting forever to get them.
The Third
I'm glad the UFC finally signed Tatsuya Kawajiri. Hopefully they're able to sign Shinya Aoki at some point too.
Lunchbox
Im really hoping Uriah Hall doesn't get in trouble for punching Miller. He was totally in the right.
The Third
Dana's already said that Uriah won't be punished.
The Third
Dana and a couple UFC related people have just tweeted that current heavyweight Shane del Rosario just passed away from a heart attack he had the other day. He was only 30.
MopOfVirtue
Uncle Creepy, who found him and has been in hospital with him, and Ariel Helwani have both stated that he's not dead yet, but the outlook isn't too good. If his brain shows no signs of activity in the next few hours, the hospital is taking him off life support. Basically, he needs a miracle.
MopOfVirtue
Update on Shane: he squeezed his mother's hand, showing signs of brain activity, so things are looking up from here.
Lunchbox
Thank god because it didn't look good at all a few days back.
MopOfVirtue
It was looking grim. They said he'd need a miracle to survive those early days, but he managed to pull through. It's not over though and I hope his condition improves in the coming days/weeks.
Pac.
I was gutted when I saw the condolences vignette on the TUF finale last night, that was the first I'd heard about it. I'm glad Shane's doing better.
