Mr. Carlton
Lately i've been wanting to get a capture card for my laptop/tv to record matches on SvR. But when i googled/wikipedia'd them i got a whole bunch of technical jargon that i didn't understand one bit. I dont want to spend my money on something that's not compatible/is the completely wrong thing. So can someone please give me a basic rundown of Capture cards and how they work?. I saw on wikipedia something about USB ones too? Any help would be greatly appreciated BTW if this goes in another section feel free to move it
Spyder78
http://www.amazon.com/ADS-Tech-Xpress-Video-Converter/dp/B000DZDMB6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307291074&sr=8-1 Bought this 5yrs ago and been the best investment for me so far, you can plug in almost anything as I've had my Xbox 360/PS2 and I have ripped programs off my cable box with this bad boy XD. No need to install this into pc/laptop as I said it plugs into your USB slot and using either S cables or those Red/Yellow/White av cords http://www.viddler.com/explore/BPW/ http://s790.photobucket.com/albums/yy190/BPWTrifecta3/BPW%20Roster%20Collages/ If you want to see the quality of the vids and pics I have gotten from using this cap card

Don't buy this unless you have a really good computer. I have one and it lags while I'm recording making it hard to play. Though this wouldn't be a problem if you have a splitter. It would also just stop recording after about 5 minutes and say it had an error.

It would also just stop recording after about 5 minutes and say it had an error. This isn't true at all. My computer has about 500MB of RAM, and a slow processer. I've recorded 30 minute videos flawlessly. It depends on how high your settings are and what program you're using. For example, I was using VirtualDub and it lagged like *censored*. On Ulead, it runs smoothly. T-Virus
I too am highly interested in a capture card. I wanna know is there one I could use far away from my PC. Sadly I don't have a way to do it with my TV and PC close together. Also I wanna know how people record commentary on it too.

Is this compatible with Mac? If it is then that price seems very reasonable.
