So anyway, Whats the has happened with Mercury? There was talk that he had resigned with WWE & was slated to return to the Smackdown brand, however now it seems there was never any mention of it.I also heard that he retired in October 2008 due to injury, but i'm not really sure what to believe.Anybody have accurate information about his current status? JDavis Posted March 23, 2010 Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 Not a fan of Mercury but I would like to point out a few things. 1-There is such thing as websites not knowing whats going on with certain wreslters. Monty Brown went to a indy promotion in 2008 yet theres no more info on him besides him showing up and saying hes back. There are some things that people arnt able to keep on with wrestlers. 2-about the morrison having single matchs and mercury having no matchs to compare single wise,theres such thing as watching a indy show or dvd he was at. He was in ROH for abit,ECW(original),Omega. Infact he has been wrestling quite abit before John got his big break on tough enough. People tend to forget Mercury lead a wrestling career before debuting with John. They didnt train and all that at the same time. CptHowdy87 Posted March 23, 2010 Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 I was amazed that in the last topic that people even cared about Joey Mercury to begin with let alone that people actually liked him and took notice of him let alone that some mental hospital patient think's he's better than Morrison Ok so I haven't seen anything he did in the original ECW and I've never seen any of his indie work but from what I saw of him in the WWEm booked prominentley as co-tag-team champion, he was dull and boring. I know WWE often hold back talented workers from their full potential but normally you can tell, with Mercury I thought he was a dull piece of crap from the start and nothing over the subsequent 15 months changed my mind in the slightest. Mercury was a boring heel with no look, no personailty and was as boring in the ring as watching paint dry while everyone else knew Morrison had charisma and 10 times the ability in the ring. The whole MnM tag-team was boring and massively overrated, everyone liked Johnny Nitro so they supported the team despite what a bland pice of crap Mercury was. Nitro/Morrison was only ever held back in that boring tag-team and has since had a really good career and plenty of quality singles matches.
