RockstarAC
its probably dirt or a scratch on your disk. i baught a cheap ps3 disk off amazon when i updated from ps2 to ps3 ... the disk had had very sticky finger marks on it and often when trying to strong grapple after being in the strong grapple hold my superstar would turn 90 degrees then grab at thin air missing the opponant. i asked for help here and no one else experianced it after someone suggested disk cleaning the problem became drastically less frequent. apart from this try to stand different distances away from your opponant and try from feet instead of the side to see if anything works mean time. let us know how you get on.
