Recommended Posts

It's still an ad, he's just circumventing the link/address bit. It's annoying

hey, if you want to let people randomly pm your members and draw traffic off of your site, that's your business; we're just trying to help by being loyal caws.ws members. If that's the way things are, then I guess I can just jump right in and PM everyone on the boards asking them to pm me back if they want to join my efed.

Advertising? Yes, it is. It doesn't matter if there's a link; it's the very definition of the word advertising. Look it up. You wanna lose traffic, fine by me, but don't change your tune later when advertising idiots see this post right here and start sending slews of spam crap to everyone on the board.

Although an actual link was not given, he was still intending to advertise. Had anyone said yes, he would have most likely given the link via PM, which is PM advertising. If you say no, he still made the attempt. So, the fact is, he is trying to gain members through the PM system. That does not fly here at CAWs.ws. So, when an Admin sees this, he can make the final decision. The above was just my view on this.

Like JayDee said, the intent was there. Even if a link wasn't provided, he was asking people to join his site so that counts as advertising.

I've warned him anyway, thanks for the report.
