  1. Wow, your first Smash Bros game? You've missed out. I'd recommend trying the others as well (at least Melee and Brawl). Personally, even with the new game here, I feel that Melee had the best gameplay. The problem lies in that it had a lacking roster. Brawl had a great roster, but its gameplay wasn't as great IMO. Sm4sh seems to have a nice balance in-between the two; it has great gameplay and a great roster. This, go back and play Melee. You won't be sorry you did. Welcome to the Smash community though! Side note: I'm saving my "Not as good as Melee" reactions for a few years down the road. Melee had about decade of Tech skill developing, most of which weren't found until the major competitive stuff shown in the documentary that made it that fun. Now people are judging a brand new game by comparing it to a game that really came into its own not even 4 years ago.
  2. The controls definitely are something to get used to. On launch day, I know for a fact that I'll be changing the controls to the following; Attack - B Special - Y Jump - A & X Shield - L Grab/Shield - R On a side note, has anyone else tried the demo on a 2DS yet? I noticed that many people on the net have been saying that tilting is tougher due to the circle pad, but for me, its actually easier than doing so on a Gamecube or 360 controller (Dolphin). I'm wondering if that is because the 2DS circle pad is different than that of the original 3DS one. I have the 2DS and I can say I have 0 trouble tilting on the circle pad. Anyone who is running into issues are just having issues with how sensitive they are to touch it. I know this because with Link his FTilt is a better move than the FSmash so I constantly use it instead. Yeah, I don't have issues on the 2DS either. Considering some guys are also breaking their circle pads, I guess people are just being way to rough on them period. From what I hear its a case of people treating the circle pad like the old Gamecube controllers with Melee and thinking they need to have hard, aggressive movements to register the input. Takes almost nothing to register smashes and tilts on the circle pad, hopefully some will get that soon

  4. I talked to someone who broke theirs, they said they were too wreckless when trying to wiggle out of grabs and thats how they broke it. Super Glue does fix it like brand new though. Just be careful with how aggressively you move it.
  5. Gets some taking used to, but the only issue I've run in to control wise is how delicate the circle pad is. Have to be really light if you want to tilt instead of smash. Screen size is a none issue, I'm doing just fine with it as it scales really well. Gameplay wise, its what brawl should have been imo. It has Melee mechanics (combos are the big thing), but brings some new things to the table with some edge guarding tweaks. I enjoy it and personally am going to be playing the hell out of this at tournaments along side Melee. The online for 3DS is a great asset too so I can get some tek practice in with people I know and randoms in For Glory
  6. No one is going to use the 3DS controller over the GC controller. For real haha The custom characters thing is good though so I can play 3DS while waiting for my tourny matches to be called
  7. Anyone in here that's a Nintendo Club Platinum member, you probably received 4 Smash 4 demo codes today if you met certain criteria. Its unlimited plays for these codes, but limited to 30 plays if you get the public release next week. I can confirm Mega Man is REALLY easy to use and has super viable airs
  8. I hope Ridley never makes it into the game as a playable. Just for the pure salt. ICs are the biggest snub here and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. Lucas/Snake/Mewtwo cuts are fine. No Ridley is good.
  9. DK has the most ridiculous spike if they hadn't changed it from the demo. Its actually disgustingly good.
  10. http://mynintendonews.com/2014/09/10/sakurai-teases-smash-bros-demo-for-western-audiences-plus-demo-footage/
  11. Same with Lucario. He's also the only pokemon without his shiny. They also ditched the white Yeti Kong for DK. Pretty upset. Smash 4 demo supposed to come out tomorrow or friday though for everyone other than Japan though, so fingers crossed
  12. Sonic's are the worst. Just so bad....like they didn't even try lmao
  13. Young whippersnappers not understanding the nostalgia.......damn kids and their new age characters... I've heard of Duck Hunt, but I don't see how the dog and duck fit into this though, kinda like how they *censored*in' put in Pacman lmao. What are your qualifications for fitting in to Smash? lmao Its just a game where a bunch of characters from different games all fight each other. Basically any character remotely related to Nintendo has a shot. I don't see how an intergalactic Bounty Hunter and Pikachu ended up together either yet here they are haha

  15. Nope, was just a really poorly thought out joke on your behalf
  16. Aren't those the exact same thing? Anyways, out of the newcomers, I'll mainly use Greninja, though I'm not sure if it'll actually become my main. I'm also gonna use Palutena and Little Mac. Bowser Jr. and the mutt, I won't touch outside of unlocking stuff. Only logical reason I can think of Dr. Mario coming back is they had some extra time and figured why not. If he was a conscience decision made from the beginning, then it was a really stupid decision as far as I'm concerned. Very similar, but one has damage spread out through the sword and one doesn't. Marth does more damage at the tip of his sword while Lucina has equal damage throughout the sword. Lucina seems like she'll be the n00b's Marth. I was referring to the fact that saying Marth and girl Marth is kinda pointless considering Marth is a girl. In other words: >the joke >your head. Marth is a guy homie
  17. I'm maining Duck Hunt Dog for sure: Olimar/DHD/ and then the obvious pocket spacie or Marth/Girl Marth
  18. I've already seen some people who basically modded Smash and inserted characters so its not out of the realm of possibility. I saw Wreck It Ralph vs Duck Hunt Dog vs someone else who didn't make sense. duck Hunt Dog was a re-skinned Olimar with ducks for Pikmen
  19. Duck Hunt Dog and the IC's being out make me say its fake. If its real I'll be happy though
  20. As it stands (with having only tried the chars in the demo at Best Buy), I`m looking at maining Olimar, DK, and Robin in 4
  21. Chrom only shows up in one of their final smashes. Robin looks fun as hell, might main Robin
  22. Doesn't matter, it doesn't have Wave Dashing or Fox so no one will like it
