  1. Showcase mode has always been so cringe, the way the commentators and narrator have to walk us through everything like we're idiots. ugh. I'm really happy to see 2015 Seth Rollins, he's immediately replacing freaking Rollins in my universe.
  2. Is this still possible on the base version of the game without DLC features? I would happily move everyone into the 60-91 range like the good old days, but I also feel like ratings barely mean anything while playing
  3. I'm guessing Seth vs. Orton means we're also getting Seth's old theme song? I am happily going to replace the current one with it. Would have liked to see Messiah Seth too
  4. Oh shit, I remember the weird rivalry Ledesma had with The Miz, lol
  5. I'm 29, and much like yourself, I've played most of them starting with SmackDown! My top two are HCTP and SvR2006. I credit the games (and my dad) for my interest in watching the actual product, and although I've skipped a couple of games in between, like 2k14, 2k17, 2k20 and 2k23, I still feel nostalgic for the escape that they provided. It's a blessing that wrestling could be flirting with mainstream pop culture again, and it's fitting that the 2k games have been picking up momentum alongside it. I don't watch or play nearly as much as I used to, but I'm glad nonetheless.
  6. One option that I'd really appreciate is if they brought back two buttons for reversals. I last played 2k22 and I found it was extremely easy to reverse all finisher attempts.
  7. I can't believe we're at a time where the yearly game just gets announced roughly 1.5 months before release date and people seemingly no longer complain, expect surprise announcements, have discussions or arguments or expect significant changes to the gameplay. I've been here for these reveals for 10+ years I imagine, and it's a bummer that the AEW game didn't leave any sort of mark and the 2k titles lack any willingness to innovate because of guaranteed sales from a loyal fanbase.
  8. The sound effects in HCTP are so freaking satisfying. I think around a decade ago was the last time I played it; a Rumble match with two other friends, and it was the most fun I've had playing a wrestling game. You whip your opponent towards the apron and strike them to eliminate them. Simple. Fun. Unpredictable. Hilarious at times. There was a risk/reward system at play, there was a constant threat of being eliminated. All because the animations weren't so hellbent on realism and 1v1 interaction. I watched the recent 2k23 video of the Rumble match on UUDD. Wrestlers hanging onto the ropes before being eliminated in the same exact way, or waiting around for the next animation for their cue to do something instead of having to stay on their feet and make decisions on the spot.
  9. Did we get any info on Universe mode? I read somewhere that you can decide how feuds play out...? Brock 03 is just reminding me of HCTP and I hate that, lol. This is so true, and it's something that's always in the back of my mind when I come across 2k news. The Rock, for example, had his own version of the spinebuster and DDT, wrestlers had their own fighting stance, and overalls amounted to something.
  10. I'm sad to see so little discussion over here, but here are some things I liked: - Different finishers will do a different amount of damage on your opponent. - You have a limited window to land your finisher (and it works so much like Def Jam here, initiated after a grab). I also like that you have to taunt once you're in the signature state in order to enter the special/finisher state, instead of performing a signature move. I also got the impression that pulling off signature moves in the special state would make your signature move do more damage, but at the risk of having an even smaller window to pull off your finisher. It sounds like the perfect system to allow momentum swings in competitive back and forth matches. - I noticed how Kenny Omega sat up for the "Boom" as Cole did his BayBay taunt, which is pretty neat (altho nothing remarkable since we're all used to wake-up taunts). But it shows that you can hit your finisher directly instead of having to hit your signature move first. - This might change in the future but I like music tracks playing in the background. It suits the vibe they're going for and I think it's an easier route to take than to attempt to have commentary be in matches only for it to be subpar. - Two button reversals are back! Buuut for strikes you get the puffed-up chest animation which doesn't really count as a counter. I don't know how I feel about this but I still like that we get two buttons. - It's good to know that you can customize the appearance of wrestlers.
  11. Is there a way to shorten the reversal window for finishers and signatures hit by A.I? Because I seem to be able to reverse them every single time, which is why I barely ever lose. I saw a slider in options but I'm not sure if it relates to that. Also, is the female MyRise any better than the male version? Wondering which to play first.
  12. I got the game today and played a few matches, but I don't like it much so far. :c I will really have to get used to the new combat system, but I feel like matches are ending too soon and it feels too easy. None of the matches had climatic moments and they just ended randomly. I don't even know what I expected, honestly.
  13. For PS4 users, are visual and graphical improvements noticeable?
  14. Kalisto vs. Apollo Crews Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs. Alicia Fox & Noam Dar Austin Aries vs. Neville The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro & Sheamus Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt I have a feeling I'll do terrible this time lol
  15. First screenshot from my Horizon playthrough:
  16. Guess you understand now what I was talking about earlier? lol Picked up Horizon a few days ago and I'm liking it so far. The main story itself intrigues me a lot and the side quests haven't bored me yet. The combat is also satisfying, especially when you're playing on hard. So far, it's a very cool experience.
  17. That sounds terrible. It's a shame because I'm sure you would have been enjoying the game since you made it to Chapter 11. I don't remember this particular mission, but that sounds like a shitty glitch. Played and completed Resident Evil 0 over the last week... Great game, but quite frustrating at times. There is no inventory box in this one and you're supposed to find a safe room yourself where you store all your important items as you progress through the game. Backtracking has never been an issue for me with RE games, but it was quite ridiculous with this one. I had to constantly revisit old areas in order to relocate a hookshot, a grenade launcher, a couple of grenade rounds, first aid sprays and ammunition throughout the *censored*ing game... Don't even get me started on those monkeys and zombies who reappear in hallways that you have already cleared
  18. Tell me about it. I'm still unsure about two matches.
  19. Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Naomi vs. Natalya, Carmella, Tamina Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler The Usos vs. Breezango Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal
  20. Dunne Authors of Pain Asuka Bobby Roode Strong
  21. Lol obviously there is much more to it. I'd be lying if I said Rise isn't a great game, but I realized that it just isn't for me. Horizon is giving me similar vibes right now, but I can't be sure.I haven't played the Tomb Raider reboots but Horizon is fantastic! What are your concerns? Is there enough incentive to do side quests? Open World is great and all, but only some games seem to get it right. I'd like to have a good reason to do side quests along with the main missions. Also, does the game let you select a difficulty? I'm concerned about the combat, don't want to get bored destroying robots repeating the same process. How was your experience? I personally love the side quests, because I love the world and its tribes and characters. So that's just me. There are at least two side quests that I know of that will definitely be beneficial to complete. Aide from that, the incentive is pretty much XP, which leads to leveling up, which leads to using skill points to learn and upgrade abilities. It's pretty much standard affair as far as that goes. You can pick your difficulty. I'm playing on normal, and there's still some challenge to the bigger machines. However, I'm not the best gamer out there, so my opinion may not mean much in that regard. Overall, I love the game. I love the world, I love the weapons, I love the characters, I love the gameplay. As far as the Tomb Raider comparisons, I've watched my girlfriend play some of the Tomb Raider game that came before Rise, and it gave me Uncharted vibes more than anything. Horizon doesn't remind me of Uncharted Looks like you had a lot of fun with the game. I think I'll end up getting it though, since there really isn't anything else that I'd rather get. Starting to think I won't regret it.
