As far as 1st party characters go, I don't think so. Inklings are definitely getting at some point and they have Miis. 3rd parties? Yeah that's about as much as you're gonna get.

I really don't get people who whine about high tier characters. These people are playing for money. Of course they'll use what or whoever'll help them win.

I got me one last week and bought two Mii costumes. Got $18 something left, so I'm definitely getting the characters. Not sure what to do with whatever's left. It took an 1 and a half of going in and out of the game, but I finally got the DLC to show up. It took about 30 minutes just to be able to buy it. I got all 3 characters for the Wii U version and Dreamland 64 and the inkling costumes for Wii U.

All the DLC's out. Unsurprisingly eshop's down so it'll be awhile before I can get on.

I remember something about the blazblue top 16 at EVO last year being half Kokonoe. Granted none of them won and or even made it to the top 8, but still. If anything, I think DLC characters are probably more at an advantage than disadvantage because not everyone is gonna have or play them which makes things easier for the ones that do.

There's also a Ken and female Inkling trophy as well as Zero(MMX), Megaman EXE, Heihachi, Isabelle(Animal Crossing), and some Virtua Fighter Mii costumes. I just realized that Captain Falcon, the Earthbound characters, and Morrigan Aensland are a lot alike in that they're all characters from pretty much dead franchises that many people want revived and at this point are probably more famous for their crossover appearances than their own games. Same with Ice Climbers, except no one's clamoring for another Ice Climbers game, though(slightly off topic) I feel like if they were to get the Kid Icarus treatment, a lot of people would jump right on it probably even more so than Uprisng since they've been around since Melee.

As far as the direct goes, I'm not expecting anything more than something beyond just stuff we already know about. As far as E3 as a whole, I actually think it's possible we could not get Ryu and he gets revealed at EVO because it just makes so much sense. Or we do get him at E3 and he's released at EVO.

It be cool to see other in-game trophies in real life even if not exactly amiibos. If nothing else they should have amiibos of the alt character colors like girl Robin, male WiiFit Trainer, Alph, and the Koopalings. The moment you get into an argument over Smash characters, especially on youtube, is the moment you've already lost. Some people will say or do anything to try to justify how their character can and will be in the game.

Playing the *censored* out of Splatoon. Just beat the single player and the final boss is one my favorites ever.

Lucas, Splatoon costumes, and Miiverse just got announced for the 14th. Wonder if we'll get a newcomer trailer at E3.
