  1. Just read some of the patch notes on the SmashBoards. Diddy got nerfed HARD. The reign of Yoshi begins.
  2. I thought you didn't have a Wii U? I don't. Luckily, I have a friend that has a Wii-U with Smash U and not the 3DS version. We linked those up just for Mewtwo. may be a thing. No Wolf sucks. Roy is meh. Ryu doesn't surprise me at all outside of Sakurai's statement about not wanting to use fighting game characters, but it's Ryu. If only it could be Chun-Li instead. Not too psyched about either one of those guys personally, but I can't deny more characters. Actually kinda surprised Ryu is being added if this is real. The "Street Fighter" vibe isn't exactly the same as the "Smash Bros" vibe, but I suppose it'll work well enough. ------------- YO! Got my code. MEWTWO, here I come.
  3. There's a guy that works at my local Gamestop that looks exactly like Mew2King. I know it can't be him, but every time I see him, I still chuckle. He probably thinks I'm insane.
  4. Woo, look at dem K.Rool votes. I'd like Banjo in Smash, if it was TRUE Banjo, not that blocky mess that was the N&B Banjo.
  5. Playing FG was too easy, so I changed characters. Switched to DK. Just had my 100th match on FG. 94% win rate. 2-stocked a Ness with DK.
  6. This. I doubt anymore 3rd party characters, besides any possible ones already planned, have any chance of getting in due to the ballot. I'd say the only people that will actually "make a difference" in the ballots are those that vote for 1st party characters that they actually have the rights to, but thats just me.
  7. Went ahead and put a well thought out vote for Captain K. Rool. Its a shame it only allows 500 characters. I was ready to write an essay. I'll probably give a vote to Captain Toad and Young Link (MM) as well.
  8. In other news, Mewtwo has a release date of April 28. WOOOOO.
  9. Of course a perfectly balanced fighting game is impossible to achieve, but you can't deny that Smash 4 is a much more balanced game than Melee was. In Melee, we had quite a few virtually useless characters that could never stand with the big 5, including but not limited to Kirby, Ness, and Pichu. In Smash 4, even "Bottom of the Barrel" Donkey Kong and Zelda are usable. There are still bad matchups, but every game has them. Being able to counter 2 or 3 characters is a lot different than being able to counter 3/4 of the roster.
  10. Undoubtedly, most any character in Melee can be utilized with enough knowledge, but the fact of the matter is that at the end of the day, in a match between two people with equal skill levels, people playing as the "big five" have a higher chance of winning.
  11. Melee is definitely my second favorite Smash game. The only thing that finally moved me away from it was the horrible imbalance in the character roster. When I played with friends, it was always the same fights in the same stages, with the same outcomes over and over. There's really no chance of beating your opponent when you decide to play for fun and play a new character, because in Melee, chances are the character sucks. I really wanted to use DK as one of my mains back then. I've picked him up in Sm4sh though, so I'm okay.
  12. He really is. Yoshi moves so much differently than other characters and has a lot more going for him. His U-Smash was changed, making it a beastly kill move, his neutral-b's can change direction in mid-air when going forward OR backwards (backwards is great, throws people off every time), he has combos that work on almost everyone and to top it off, he has a "jab-cancel" allowing him to lock people into true combos at higher percentages (you jab, then at the right moment, press down to crouch which cancels the jab, then jab again. The second jab won't be the 2nd jab from his combo, but a copy of the first jab. Repeat until you're ready to finish the combo, which you can do by pressing down to cancel the last jab and quickly use a Smash attack.) Not to mention hitting flutter-kicks perfectly will dish out 33% damage. Then you've got his meteor-smash F-air and a B-air that stuns opponents in the air if only the first and/or second hits land. Lets not forget a shield-breaking, kill move Down-B. Then when you think thats all he has, you have egg shenanigans all over the place. So much Yoshi, so little time... Man... I want an "Eat, Sleep, Yoshi, Repeat" shirt now.
  13. Little Mac is a monster when playing on defense if the stage is flat. Like, Omega stages are definitely Little Mac's playground. Even rushdown Mac's can usually hold their own on Omega stages. With nowhere else to go and Mac on defense, the opponent is forced to be the attacker, which puts Mac at an advantage due to all of that super armor he has on each of his moves. Now, once the stage adds platforms, things change. Doesn't matter either way. Yoshi race is master race.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klDfJ2Yb7wc Get hyped. The day of Mewtwo beckons. On a side note, I just got a new 3DS XL (not to be confused with a New 3DS XL [Nintendo...]), and due to my "setup", had to restart my Smash Bros file. Not bummed at all, as now I have the chance to redo my For Glory record. So far, 30 matches in For Glory completed, 0 losses. Reign of the Yoshi.
  15. I agree. He really paid attention to detail. Thats how you make a fake. Kudos to him.
