So how could he be so badly injured that his brain died, but still was able to make a valid statement while being injured in the car (and according to the pictures, he was completely out of it), where he stated that his actions were intentional? It only sparked even more questions.

Not really. Nobody really cares as long as they maintain a positive image in the society and there is little controversy surrounding the Dutch royal family. But some feel that we spend too much money on the royal family (they get paid with tax money).
