More like the 2018 World Cup. In Holland, you get learned things at a very young age and one of the basics is to position yourselves well. He can't even do that.

Willems really was not ready. Van der Wiel might not be ready ever. Looked very good at the World Cup, but has just stopped in his development in the last two seasons at Ajax. Is very close to becoming one of those players who is stuck in potential for eternity, without ever fully living up to that potential.

The defence is not good, that is true. But we compensated for that at the World Cup due to unity and hard work. We have lost unity and hard work is lacking at several players. Also, Van Bommel, who is trying so hard, is just too old now.

I can guess, it's a combination of ego's by self-absorbed individuals who overestimated their own ability drastically (HUN-TE-LAAR) and intense media pressure.
