What a final match. My fav match of the G1 and at least 2nd fav match of the year. I got emotional af by the time it was over. What a moment, what a setting, what a great atmosphere. This is what pro wrestling is all about.

Yeah, I felt they held back too for a rematch on a bigger stage. Ibushi is definitely taking it tomorrow.
I could see it going either way, because even if Tana wins we'll see Ibushi vs Kenny for the belt.
Personally, I'd say Ishii vs. Omega is the best match so far.
That's probably my fav too. Goto/Ishii, Ishii/Ibushi, Ishii/Omega, Naito/Ibushi and Omega/Ibushi were my Top 5 in no particular order.

It was and I actually feel it could've been way nuttier, there was still quite a bit of stuff they didn't do. The way the match was I have a feeling we'll see a rematch...

The Bullet Club OG/Firing Squad have been suspended for 3 months.
It says IF they intervene. I don't know if what happened in the Yano/Tama match counts.

If any of the BCOG members interfere in B block matches tomorrow they'll be fined and suspended for 3 months! Good.

So from Block A it's down to Jay White (my original pick), Okada and Tanahashi. For Jay White to win he would have to beat EVIL and hope Okada beats Tanahashi, however that would mean Okada would be eliminated before his match and I kinda don't see that happening. Okada needs to win and hope that Jay White loses to go to the finals and Tanahashi only needs a draw to win the group.
On Block B it's down to Naito (my original pick), Omega and Ibushi. Naito needs either a draw and an Ibushi win or a win and a draw/Ibushi win in the main. But again, I think Naito might be losing to Zack because otherwise Ibushi would be eliminated before his match starts. Omega only needs a draw if Naito doesn't win and a win otherwise and Ibushi needs Naito to lose and beat Kenny.

Soooo....Anybody else got Ibushi/White for the finals?
I had Naito/White but now I think White isnn't making it to the finals.
For me there have been 4 five star matches so far in the tournament. Ishii vs Goto, Ishii vs Ibushi, Ishii vs Omega and Naito vs Ibushi. So yeah, my MVP for the tourney is Ishii. Can't remember ever watching a show with 2 five star matches back to back, so awesome.

So he's a workhorse because he's been around for a while? He's probably the dude with the least ring time in this G1, minus like Fale or Yano. You could say pretty much everyone on the New Japan roster is a workhorse if Tama qualifies as such...

Workhorse? Dude's having like the worst matches in the G1 lol. That's the description you'd give someone like Ishii or even Naito, not Tama Tonga.

Juice did a move I love during the Omega match that I don't see anyone doing anymore. When he had him in a headscissors on the ground Kenny did a headstand and he gave him like a piledriver but already sitting down. That's some Dynamite Kid/Tiger Mask shit right there, I loved it.
My fav match of the tourney so far was Goto vs Ishii, followed by Omega vs Naito. After that my fav matches were Ibushi vs Juice, Ibushi vs Zack and Naito vs Ishii.

I thought Cobb would end up on NXT sooner or later, I'm guessing this ROH deal will mean more appearences for New Japan in the future.

It's awesome that there are so many possibilities, last year it was clear from the get go how it would turn out.

I think Okada will make a comeback and then lose to Tanahashi on the last night, allowing Jay to win the block. I feel like they're telling the story of Okada losing matches to people he beat on his championship reign, he lost to Zack and to Fale, so he might lose to Suzuki and maybe to EVIL too (maybe not because EVIL has already beat him in a singles match).

So who y'all got for the G1? I've got Knife Perv Jay White winning the A Block but I'm not sure on the B Block, thinking Naito and he wins 2 years in a row. I'm finding that B Block kinda hard to predict, much harder to predict the finalists and winners than last year.

Anyways, Night 1 of the G1 was pretty good. MOTN for me was probably Okada vs Jay White, Elgin vs Evil was a great match too and Tana vs Suzuki and Yoshi Hashi vs Makabe were really good. Hangman Page vs Fale was a good match too, better than I expected, Page is really coming into his own.

I hate that New Japan never gives out full details on shit like this. Even with Shibata we were getting info bit by bit. Maybe Hiromu didn't break his neck after all, it sucks that we're kept in the dark.
