  1. why is the 2k23 Big E model the wrong color....but his old MyFaction model is correct?
  2. is it me or are Kofi and Big E too dark in this game now? Or are they the same color as 2k22.....but just the lighting is borked this year? and against all odds, they somehow made the mistake of not giving Dominik, wristape. 2 games in a row? They fixed it last minute last year if i recall?
  3. im not sure if i even tried Universe in 2k22? i pretty much dropped 2k22 by like May last year. And have only sporadically attempted to play Exhibition matches or Showcase every once in a blue moon since then. Universe used to be the main thing i played in these games. But i play it less and less every game now. Because i feel like the Rivalry system ruined it. Universe has somehow gotten more freedom and options....and also become more restrictive and less fun to play for me. I did enjoy when they added the Promos. but now thats gone so
  4. yeh im really hoping Jmann or whoever on day 1, can test that out. I still have a ton of issues with the game regardless. But it will go a long way to making the gameplay especially against the CPU, not feel terrible to me. If blocking, dodging, carry moves, diving, combos etc...can all be set to ZERO. and especially INSTANT RECOVERY. im sick of hitting a big move and the CPU just shrugs it off and gets up 4 seconds later.
  5. its kinda Apples to Oranges. The AEW game is purposefully trying to replicate No Mercy. Its a retro style game. meanwhile the WWE 2k22 changed everything about the gameplay. To make it more of like a fast arcadey fighting game. But it still has the same name and art design. So to me it was a complete snake move If they had changed the gameplay and made new fighting game or arcadey beefed up models for a WWE side game....and called it something else, fine. But they threw the baby out with the bathwater and reintroduced problems we had like 20 years ago. That had been fixed long ago. Can't wait to get my hands on the AEW game. To see for myself. But from all the footage, it looks closer to a wrestling sim than the 2k games now. Albeit an N64 style wrestling sim
  6. i would almost like to see someone try to really reinvent the way we think about wrestling games. Where the matches aren't a competition against ur opponent. But a collaboration. I would like to see someone try using the analog sticks for moves. As much as i like SKATE and the Tony Hawk games, the newest skateboarding game "Sesssion" really opened my eyes. It takes what SKATE did with the analog stick controls and really pushes that idea further. I think like the game Session, it would be complicated but rewarding. Having to do something like Pull both analog sticks down then quickly push them up to jump then smash both sticks to the right. To pull off a Dropkick. Try to simulate the actions with the sticks as ur legs and maybe the triggers represent each arm? too many times in a WWE game, i just feel like i have no control. Like im just waiting for a canned animation to end.
  7. man WM X8 on GameCube was soooo disappointing. Ppl think i hate 2k22. I'd rather play 2K22 than WM X8...thats for sure
  8. yeah realism and simulation aspect isn't an opinion. Thats like saying NBA Street is the best basketball sim of all time My favorite soccer videogame is Red Card or whatever on GameCube. But im sure thats not a better sim than some new Fifa
  9. i will interject just to correct ur statement that this is the best WWE simulation of all time. Thats just ridiculous to say. You can enjoy the game or whatever. But 2k22 is in no way shape or form an accurate representation of WWE. Even ignoring the fighting game gameplay change. The entrances no longer look like the real entrances. They removed Promos. They added that weird arcadey BLOODSHOT screen border. They homegenized all of the characters so they all play the same instead of being more unique. The only thing that differentiates them at all now is whether they have a Dodge/Roll/Boxing Bob n Weave as their RB/R1 move. No squash matches. The camera angles, replays, lighting.....all of it makes it NOT like the TV product And lastly the introduction of the combo system ruined the A.I-
  10. tbh i forget that last gen versions exist. They make it so easy to upgrade to the new consoles now. That i jumped in early on both of them this go around. Especially when GameStop does dumb shit like giving me $300 credit for my last gen console towards the purchase of a new one. I understand tho. I didn't jump to next gen during the 8th generation until 2k16. I skipped the next gen version of 2k15 completely. I was still playing Xbox 360 at the time. There just wasn't anything on XB1/PS4 that i felt was worth me upgrading at the time. the 360 versions of 2k15/2k16 were wonky and still had the 2k14 gameplay and features...but just more broken
  11. my opinion is that they are rudderless since YUKES left. I feel like some of the ppl there want the game to be like 2k19. Some of the ppl there want it to be an esports fighting game. Some of the ppl there want it to be Here Comes the Pain. there is no clear voice or direction anymore. It feels like they are just throwing spaghetti at the wall. 2k20 being a nightmare. 2k21 getting shelved. And 2k22 being a complete deviation from all the work and progress they made over the years points to one culprit. Poor management. too many cooks in the kitchen. They were on track. 2k19's gameplay and features with 2k23's graphics and smooth movement.....and we might be looking at a 10/10 wrestling game. But they are lost in the sauce. And now we're headed down this Madden Ultimate Team nonsense route. With gameplay to appeal to casuals and non-wrestling fans. That just want to make a weird CAW and mash buttons. Because thats what this game has become for many ppl. The game you buy to make a created character.
  12. No. Im completely with him. I hope this game BOMBs. I hate the new gameplay from 2k22. I hate this MyFaction card bs. They are still releasing very buggy games. There are still many areas of the game that don't get touched for years. There are quality of life things that still haven't been implemented over years. How many moves and features have gotten removed and then just never return? Money talks. If ppl stop buying the game they will start changing things and fixing things so quick it'll make ur fckn head spin. vote with ur wallet. 2k20 was the first time i didn't pre-order a WWE game since 2008. And i will not preorder 2k23. perhaps we treated YUKES too harshly. the AEW game will not be a yearly release. Its a game that will last for hopefully years. With support and DLC releases and updates. No card game nonsense. The opponents sell and stay down. No fighting game combos to utilize ur full moveset. i dont give a shake shack shit about MyRise or Showcase. I just want a wrestling game that i enjoy to play and can have matches that look like wrestling
  13. well, on launch day. Report back to tell us if u can actually stop everyone from using combos, blocks, dodges and carry moves completely
  14. new moves vid did nothing for me. 2k20 was the last game that got good new moves. specifically that DLC moves pack lots of Creed brother, Carmelo moves and womens moves mostly. Little strange that they only bring back one of the removed rest holds. and its the Surfboard stretch? not a, idk CHINLOCK Also a good bit are just new animations of moves we already have. Lethal Combination finally getting in is great. But thats just like 1 old requested move. Wheres the million or so other moves we've been waiting for, for legends or non-WWE stars these new moves vids can't be everything. Because they barely showed any ground, seated, kneeling, corner, stunned against ropes, diving or top rope moves. no apron stuff. So maybe theres a bunch more?
  15. i wonder if the Environmental Grapple also effects Carry moves? Because they fixed the issue of the A.i constantly doing carry moves years go, by allowing us to turn the carry moves off. And then 2k22 reintroduced the problem. Im curious to see if these sliders actually work. Its still a band-aid to fix the gunshot wound of the awful gameplay. But at this point a bandaid will have to do i guess. Even tho its fixing problems that they manufactured. As we already were able to turn off combos, turn off dives etc (prior to 2k22). Now Omos still has to have combos and dives. U can just make the A.I not do them? i feel like these ppl at Visual concepts no longer have a grasp on wtf they are doing with this game
  16. i can't even begin to care about the DLC. I see no gameplay improvements. Im not hearing about gameplay improvements to the horrid backstage area in 2k22. Im not hearing about any gameplay improvements to the GM mode (which just boiled down to a match game of classes). Gameplay and Bugs are the biggest issues with the game. Its not the DLC. Its not the roster. Not the arenas or creation stuff. I watched a 70 min iron man match last nite. And you know how many strike combos into suplexes i saw in that 70 mins? None You know how many lock-ups i saw? just two in the first minute of action and then never again. How many dodges and blocks did i see? Zero How many lock-ups to irish whip did i see? I don't believe there was any. How many Carry Move types of moves did i see? none. I saw lots of chain wrestling. Grappling transitions. ground submission combos. ground wrestling and technical wear down holds. I saw fighting on the apron. Not many standing strikes or back and forth strike reversals. (unless u count that AEW i elbow you you elbow me spot thats in every AEW match) No constant back and forth momentum changes every move. Just a wrestler taking control for awhile. then the other wrestler comes back. that iron man match really highlights how impossible it is to have a good wrestling match against the A.I in the new gameplay. You can play against a buddy and try to replicate stuff. But CPU is a lost cause. Every match against the CPU feels exactly the same. Walk forward attack attack/reverse/sig/fin/they no sell and get up rinse repeat. Till the 3rd finisher when they finally stay down and you win
  17. i watch a lot of wrestling.....and i have no clue who Damon Kemp or Nathan Frazer are
  18. idk. Call me crazy. But i think losing advanced A.I selling & feeding, close strikes, multiple strikes and strong strikes, quick grapples, rest holds, apron ground moves, normal irish whips, being able to turn off Carry moves, being able to assign unique skills and abliities for everyone and having reversal limitations....all for what? so everyone in the game could do 4 hit strikes into a suplex combo which nobody in real pro wrestling does? Or to bob & weave like boxers which like 5 ppl in all of pro wrestling do? seems like a terrible trade off to me
  19. well the close strikes are gone. What you think ur seeing is most likely the KO & FInn Balor strong strike elbows. The "assign more moves" thing holds no water, when you are talking about combos. That is like saying to someone playing NBA 2k, "well you can still do Michael Jordans fadeway jumper. You just have to hit a button combo...do a cross over streetball spin move first". And its not just Michael Jordan who has the streetball crossover now. We are talking everyone on every NBA team is now a crossover streetball type of player. Thats what this combo system did. Instead of building a cool combo system fighting style to assign to a unique wrestler or for a created wrestler. Everyone is that wrestler now. Do you like Malakai Black, Mike Tyson & that lucha character from Virtua Fighter 5? Well i hope you do because all 200 ppl on the roster play as one of those 3 ppl now
  20. i really despise this "just don't use the combos" argument. How many times do i have to point out that 98% of real pro wrestlers don't use combos??? How many times do i have to point out that they removed a bunch of moves and positions because of the combos? Remember having 5 strikes and 5 strong strikes? Thats gone. Remember having close strikes? Those are gone. Remember having quick grapples? Those are gone. Irish whips without having to lock-up? Those are gone too Remember when the A.I would feed into different positions and move all around the ring and sell? Yeh thats gone too. All thanks to this fighting game combo system they forced into the game and built the whole game loop around.
  21. more importantly than all of that combined, is that 2k22 was a complete gameplay overhaul. and the "foundation" to build on. and we know pretty much nothing about gameplay improvements.
  22. okay, so you can use sliders to make Omos not do springboards "as much"....but are there sliders to stop everyone on the roster from doing this^
  23. on one hand, it makes the moves look great and personal. On the other hand it ruins the move for created wrestlers. They should've thought of a system long ago to either trigger or cancel that type of stuff. We already have it to trigger if we want the pin combo in a move. One big example is when Sami Zayn had a unique Tilt-a-Whirl animation. He would do the move then a little taunt afterwards. For whatever reason they removed the taunt. but left the move in. So now we just have 2 tilt-a-whirl backbreakers that look about 99% exactly the same......for some reason?
  24. THQ seemed more upset that whoever was supposed to remove the moves, just locked them and left them on the disc. Then being concerned that we weren't happy with them removing like half of the moves in the game. what a shame. Because SvR 2011 was actually a good game. It just sucked because there were no damn moves. Which made everyone play the same
  25. yeh the accuracy of the movesets, fell off a fckn cliff when Bryan Williams supposedly took over. I can see what he did. He just used a handful of presets. applied them to everyone. And then assigned like a handful of easily recognizable signature type of moves that the wrestlers uses. And left everything else default. which isn't the worst idea in the world. But the problem is that instead of using presets that make sense. And are full of very generic basic moves, that any wrestler might do. He chose very specific moves like the Flaotover Neckbreaker (as opposed to just a normal running neckbreaker). Which how many ppl in ALL OF PRO WRESTLING have you seen do a floatover neckbreaker?? Maybe One? Just Kazarian. So in what world would someone choose that to be a default move to give everyone. That tells me you either don't care, or your just not using your brain to do stuff like that. another thing i've said before, that i will say again. When you have people like Kane, Undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton etc...in your game every single year for 20 years. Call me crazy but i expect those movesets to be perfect. You've had 20 years to figure that out
