  1. If there was ever a better time for CM Punk to return to professional wrestling, its now.

The former WWE Champions mixed martial arts (MMA) career is currently on the decline. Punk recently suffered his second consecutive loss under the UFCs banner in June. After the loss there has been a ton of speculation that he could return to wrestling.

The possibility of Punk returning to the squared circle has drawn interest from Ring Of Honor (ROH). The promotion is reportedly interested in booking Punk for their upcoming Madison Square Garden joint-show with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in April.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that the chances of Punk returning for ROH are slim. It appears those close to Punk say he currently has no interest in participating in pro wrestling.

Punk departed from WWE back in January of 2014. The UFC inked Punk to a multi-fight deal just several months later. The former WWE Champ made his Octagon debut in September of 2016.

He succumbed to the jiu-jitsu skills of Mickey Gall in the first round. Punk trained for two more years before taking another fight. He squared off with former Houston Golden Gloves winner Mike Jackson this past June.

Although Punk went the distance with Jackson, he was defeated in a lopsided decision. Now with an 0-2 record in fighting Punks MMA career looks unclear. Many professional wrestling fans would love to see him return to the ring, but Punk seems to have no interest.

Only time will tell if Punk ever wrestles again.

  2. Former Olympian Jeff Cobb will debut this weekend for Ring of Honor at the Saturday Night at Center Stage TV tapings from Atlanta, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Cobb noted on Twitter that he has not signed an exclusive deal with ROH.

After representing Guam at the 2004 Olympic games in mens freestyle wrestling, Cobb went pro in 2009 and has been making a name for himself in various promotions across the world.

Known for his amateur credentials, power move-set and agility, Jeff Cobb has long been one of the top free agent prospects in the industry. Hes competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Lucha Underground, PWG, Progress, MLW and more.

Several months ago, it was reported that Impact Wrestling offered him a 2-year deal. He has independent bookings scheduled through the end of August, including an appearance for ICW on July 29th and a match against Brian Cage on August 19th for California Vagabond Wrestling.

With WWE continuously signing top independent talent and Ring of Honor looking to hold its ground and build momentum, this is a very strong acquisition for ROH.

  4. Women's wrestler and former Ring of Honor star Taeler Hendrix has come forward claiming that ROH World Champion Jay Lethal once sabotaged her career with the promotion after she allegedly refused his sexual advances.

ROH then released a statement claiming that they have launched an investigation into the matter, and that they are taking the allegations very seriously.

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com has provided a small update on the situation, stating on Twitter that according to ROH, Taeler Hendrix was never fired. She was not under contract, was working on a per-show basis, and was booked for events in April 2017, but then resigned in writing prior to those events..

  5. Ring of Honor has released a statement about allegations made this week by former talent Taeler Hendrix, who claims her House of Truth stablemate Jay Lethal said she was taken off TV for not sleeping with him.

It all started on social media this week when Hendrix tweeted negative comments about Lethal. After a fan defended him she wrote, the dude your standing up for is the same dude that told me because I didnt sleep with him they sabotaged me and took me off TV. that being the all mighty Jay.

Hours later she followed it up with an additional statement:

I know this is going to be on wrestling sites. My name is Taeler & this is my statement: attorneys on my behalf have an ongoing investigation. I know Im not the only one & ppl that have known of this investigation have been supportive. Ill continue to fight for whats right.Let the hate roll in. Doesnt change what happened. I came forward privately long ago & now its public. If I stay silent Ill be part of the problem. I cant live w/ that. Ill fight for whats right. Threatening me/supposed burned bridges changes nothing. Let the hate roll in.

For those unfamiliar, Hendrix worked in ROH from 2015-2017 and was Lethals valet during his first run as World Champion. Jay recently regained the title at a TV taping.

A rep for ROH released a statement to PWTorch saying:

We were troubled to hear the allegations that surfaced last night on Twitter. We take these matters very seriously and will be investigating this situation thoroughly, reviewing all evidence related to the matter. Ring of Honor strives to provide an environment and workplace where male and female wrestlers are free from any misconduct or abuse. We will take appropriate action upon the conclusion of our findings.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to Lethal for comment but have yet to hear back.

  6. Ring of Honor Wrestling will be returning to the United Kingdom for another tour in August called Honor ReUnited.

ROH has announced that their Honor ReUnited tour will include the first-ever ROH International Cup Tournament.

    The following comes from ROHWrestling.com:

Coming off the highly successful Honor United Tour, the Best Wrestling on the Planet, Ring of Honor, returns to the UK with the HONOR RE-UNITED TOUR, featuring an eight-man, United States vs. United Kingdom Tournament! The tournament is the First Annual Ring of Honor International Cup with the first round taking place in Edinburgh on Thursday August 16, the Semi Finals and Finals on Saturday August 18 in Doncaster, with the winner challenging for the Ring of Honor World Championship in the Main Event on Sunday August 19 in London!

The tournament marks the first of many anticipated International Cups, all of which possess endless possibilities, including the United States vs. Japan, United States vs. Germany, United States vs. Mexico, and more!

As we have seen from the recent Reach For The Sky, War of the Worlds UK, and Honor United Tours, Ring of Honor brings in the very best UK stars to compete against its own stars year after year! Previous tours have brought stars like The Villain Marty Scurll, Will Ospreay, Mark Haskins, NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis, and others to ROH competition, with all making the most of their opportunities. Will we see a breakout star make the most of this opportunity or will an established star win the first-ever ROH International Cup?

  8.

While Ring of Honor planned to run a show at Madison Square Garden next year, it looks like that won't be happening.

ROH COO Joe Koff did an interview with PWInsider today where he noted that Madison Square Garden said they were backing out of the show after "communications from WWE." Dave Meltzer reported last Thursday that WWE was doing everything they could to stop the event from happening and that it was possible they would succeed in doing so.

"I’m not going to discuss beyond this statement because I am not going to litigate this in the press," Koff told PWInsider. "We had a deal with [Madison Square] Garden and they then told us they were backing out after communications from the WWE. We are not able to get any other dates in any kind of discussion.

"I’m expecting that our lawyers will be contacting all the parties involved and the best we can hope is that we can find a resolution, so we can bring the kind of energy and excitement that ROH and our partner New Japan to a bigger audience and to bigger arenas and to the fans of New York City."

Sinclair Broadcast Group CEO Chris Ripley first mentioned the show while speaking with the Baltimore Business Journal. It was planned to take place during the Saturday of next year's WrestleMania weekend, with WWE's Hall of Fame ceremony, NXT TakeOver special, and post-Mania Raw and SmackDown scheduled for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

AAA has also been planning to run Madison Square Garden. It's been several decades since anyone other than the McMahon family has promoted a pro wrestling show at the venue.

  9. Madison Square Garden is known as home territory for WWE but if a Sinclair Broadcast exec is to be believed, ROH is making a play for the famous venue.

Sinclair Broadcast Group CEO Chris Ripley spoke with the Baltimore Business Journal about Ring of Honor expanding and explained that the company is taking advantage of a very passionate fanbase by beginning to run shows in larger venues.

This includes plans for a show in Madison Square Garden next year.

Ripley isnt directly quoted saying it, but the article is written as though the move was spawned by the success of All In and WWEs reported billion dollar deal in the works at Fox.

No exact date was given for the show, nor any additional details, but a move like this would definitely be surprising since WWE has had a stranglehold on the venue for so long.

According to PWInsider, venue officials are unhappy with WWE for leaving them out in the cold in regards to WrestleMania week activities next year when the show runs at Barclays. Because of this, theyve started talking to other companies including AAA.

  10. Ring of Honor Wrestling has announced that their brand new Dojo in Baltimore, Maryland is set to have its very first seminar/try-out camp on June 23rd and 24th.

Students at the new Dojo will train under full-time trainers Delirious, B.J. Whitmer, former WWE Superstar Joey Mercury, Jonathan Gresham, and Will Ferrara. They'll also be bringing in Bully Ray, Jay Lethal, and others to serve as guest trainers.

Their plan is to hold seminars/try-out camps every three to four months. Currently, it's invitation only for experienced wrestlers.

  11. The Women of Honor Championship makes its debut in the UK when Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai teams with one of the worlds most in-demand talents Tenille Dashwood to reprise a dream team against The Gatekeeper looking to rebound following War of the Worlds Lowell and a woman making her Women of Honor debut, Chardonnay in a Women of Honor clash on May 24th in Edinburgh

For a competitor of just over five years, Chardonnay makes her Women of Honor debut bringing a world of experience with her! Competing in seven countries on three continents, Chardonnay has made her mark in the UK, Germany, for STARDOM in Japan, among others, and fancies herself as a sophisticated athlete. She will team with a woman she competed against in the Goddess of STARDOM tag team tournament last fall, The Gatekeeper Kelly Klein!

The two will need to immediately establish continuity when they face the Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai and one of the championships top contenders, international star Tenille Dashwood! Sumie and Tenille will find themselves teaming for the third time following their thrilling semi-final match in the tournament to crown the first-ever Women of Honor Champion and have seemingly developed a mutual respect for one another! The two each have a pinfall on one another but Sumie and Tenille will look to put achieve another win, this time as a team.

Who will win this tag team clash featuring four of the top female stars in the world representing four different countries and a debuting Women of Honor star?

  12. Ring of Honor Wrestling has officially announced that ROH World Champion Dalton Castle will be defending his title at Honor United: London on May 26th against current New Japan Pro Wrestling IWGP World Tag Team Champion EVIL, a member of Los Ingobernables de Japón.

EVIL is also a former NJPW NEVER Openweight Champion, as well as a three-time NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion along with Tetsuya BUSHI and Seiya SANADA.

It was previously reported that Castle has been dealing with various nagging injuries, particularly back problems. No word yet on whether ROH officials are talking about having Castle drop the ROH World Championship any time soon. Castle has been the champion since he defeated Cody Rhodes for it at Final Battle back in December.

Ring of Honor Wrestling has announced that National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis has been signed for a Tag Team Match at Honor United: Edinburgh, Scotland on May 24th. Aldis and a mystery partner of ROH's choosing will be facing Bullet Club members The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), who currently hold the New Japan Pro Wrestling NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship along with "The Villain" Marty Scurll.

Aldis posted the following on Twitter:

If back-room @billy & @CodyRhodes want me to sign on the line for #ALLIN #TenPoundsOfGold several things need to happen. They involve money & respect. But let's start with this: I want a match with The Young Bucks at #HonorUnited Edinburgh. @ringofhonor can pick my partner.
