No one should use the name Knox in pro wrestling. Unless it is yours legitimately. Even then...

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cody Rhodes will be making his TNA debut at Bound for Glory. He is expected to work a program with wife Brandi against Maria and Mike Bennett. His deal with TNA is said to be a short term one, likely just the Bound for Glory PPV and the tapings that follow.
Rhodes will be working the December ROH Final Battle PPV, and has commitments with ROH through May of 2017. In a bit of a trivia note, Rhodes will be the first man to work WWE WrestleMania, TNA Bound for Glory and ROH Final Battle in the same calendar year.

During an interview with Ring Rust Radio, Cody Rhodes talked about working with his father in WWE:
“There is so much about that time period that touched me and was really something that will stand out as a favorite memory of my father and what he was able to do the day of Battleground. How we were able to get people to see what we couldn’t, but it’s not even in my top five of the things I did with WWE. The reason being, when I got into WWE I wanted to be anything other than Dusty’s kid. I didn’t want to have any connection with Dustin either as far as Goldust, not because I don’t love them; it’s just nostalgia if I was paying tribute to them. So I wanted to be very different than the three Rhodes on paper. I never really saw us as having that family moment, but we did.”
Rhodes also added the following comments:
“There are so many things about that match and people might know this, but Battleground was originally designed to be War Games. War Games was going to come back and somebody — and I don’t actually know who so not I’m not trying to be vague — but somebody said ‘No it takes up too much ticket space so we aren’t going to do the War Games.’ So then it became a tag match. Before it was ever a tag match, it was to be me returning in this cool drifter-like Midnight Rider mask that I had commissioned and paid for and was all excited about. So many things didn’t happen for it to just be a family match, but I’m glad people loved it. When I look at it now, I wonder ‘what if’ about all the other things, especially with the War Games portion.”

Former WWE star Cody Rhodes recently appeared on The Chad Dukes Wrestling Show and below are some interview highlights:
Ive heard this a lot, and Im just a fan, I dont pretend to be an insider like I think a lot of people who talk about wrestling do, they talk a lot about when theyre bringing guys into NXT from the indies that its their way and then theres the WWE way. How much different is that going to be when we see you for the first time outside of a WWE ring?
I think, without sounding so negative, when youre told youre not good from your employer, when your employer tells you youre not good or when his exact words are, theres no interest in you, to your face, you want to change that opinion, you want to prove them wrong, its motivating, its probably good leadership to some degree, but when I was unable to do so because of playing essentially, my half brothers character long past the point that I was supposed to continue with it was just discouraging because I was boxed into that. You cant prove them wrong when youre doing essentially slapstick comedy. As much as I love Jim Carrey Riddler, I could only rip him off so much.
So its my chance to get back on track from where we were in 2013, 2012, 2011, when I was just finger lengths away from the keys to the kingdom and I kind of fell from grace. Thats more my fault likely than it is theirs, but its my chance to kind of get back on track. You said the Indy way and the WWE way, I dont really particularly look at it that way. Pro wrestling is pro wrestling to me, whether its in WWE, or whether its in Lucha Underground, or whether its in Evolve, wherever. I consider myself a student of the game and somebody that always wants to improve and learn about pro wrestling. People who remember 2012, 2013, and 2011, theyll be excited to see that side of Cody again. But by no means am I sleeping on this transition, a whole lot of new things have to happen and a whole lot of changes. If you were to come to the house here in Dallas, Texas, youd see. Weve got a ring set up here. at my actual house, dont ask me how it fits, and because I cant do anything but sit on my ass, essentially for ninety days, I work out in the morning, I work out in the ring in the afternoon, and at night I grab Pharaoh, my husky, and we run while Brandi shines the light of my car on us. Its a hell of a deal, I wish somebody was filming it, wed be able to make a pretty sweet montage.
You really did well with something that maybe you didnt want to do, but it was really cool to see you sink your teeth into it and make it into something incredibly entertaining and I hope at least you can take that away from your time as Stardust.
Listen, I didnt like the idea of Stardust but once its handed to you, thats your job. That was my job and I wanted to create something, I did not want to get roped into being Goldust-lite. I thought I had my own nice dichotomy between the personality of my brother and myself, so I wanted to make it something different and we kind of lurched towards the super-villain route. On live events like that where the best wrestling in WWE actually is, on the live events, those moments are unforgettable. Stardust did things in a unique way, I probably would have just given you a shout out, but Stardust gave a shout out to your dog. Hes a lover of animals, hes a cat guy, I dont even own a cat, but Stardust is a cat guy. Lot of weird things about him.

Cody Rhodes was the guest on the debut edition of "The Ric Flair Show" on MLW Radio for the first part of a two-part interview.
During the interview, Cody stated that the reported "merchandising deal" between himself and WWE was related to a biography of his father, [Dusty] Rhodes. Cody stated that he was working on rights to be able to still write the book memorializing his father. Rhodes has been working on the project since his father's passing last summer.
It's a really great listen as Rhodes discusses his training for independent wrestling, wanting to become an actor, amateur wrestling and more. Part Two of the conversation will debut next Wednesday.

Interesting to note that we've heard there's been communication over the last few days between WWE and Cody Rhodes, who just departed the company. From what we can ascertain, there's been discussion about the company signing him to some sort of deal similar to their Legends deal, which would allow the company to release merchandise, etc. using his likeness. It may be that they had Stardust, etc. material coming out from a third-party (a Mattel action figure, for example) and offered him a deal so legally, they can move forward with that. There's been no talk of Rhodes returning as a full-time performer as he's seeking to work specific, big matches on the independent level and we've heard he's already being represented in Hollywood for potential acting work.

Vinyl should have been on huge. On paper, it feels like a surefire hit and another jewel in HBO’s crown of all-time great shows. A drama series set in the music industry circa 1973, produced by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger, run by the great Terence Winter, and starring fine actors like Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, and Olivia Wilde sounds like a list of things that should have made this whole thing soar. Then people actually started watching the show and whoo-boy, no one had many nice things to say. What felt like an instant winner quickly turned into an expensive misfire.
Despite low ratings and disappointing reviews from critics and TV fans alike, HBO renewed Vinyl for a second season back in February. Today, they’ve backtracked: Vinyl season 2 has been scrapped and the show has been cancelled.
Variety reported the news, which includes this boilerplate statement from HBO:
After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of Vinyl. Obviously, this was not an easy decision. We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project.
If that sound familiar, it’s the same basic template HBO utilized when they cancelled The Brink after one season last year…another cancellation that came about only after they had “renewed” the series. And even that wasn’t the first time HBO has decided to kill a show’s second season at the last minute, with both Luck and Tell Me You Love Me also belonging to this unlucky club of HBO shows axed following their premiere seasons after getting an official green light.
While the cancellation of those shows inspired some degree of outcry from television fans (well, maybe not The Brink), it’s hard to imagine too many people mourning the loss of Vinyl, which slipped in the ratings throughout its first season and continued to earn lousy reviews until the finale. It’s not even clear who to blame in this situation – this may have been a case of too many cooks in the kitchen.
HBO did try to revamp the entire show, replacing Winter (a veteran of the network with shows like The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire under his belt) with screenwriter Scott Z. Burns for second season. Variety reports that Burns was still outlining the new season and had not turned in any scripts when the axe officially fell. The trade suggests that HBO simply crunched the numbers and decided that the money spent on a second season of Vinyl could be better utilized elsewhere. After all, it’s hard to convince anyone to come back to a show after they’ve dropped it, even if it has gotten better.
This cancellation also comes one month after Casey Bloys stepped into the role of programming president at HBO, replacing Michael Lombardo (who steered the ship for a decade). These kinds of big decisions often coincide with regime changes like this. Bloys, not wanting to work overtime to save his predecessor’s misfire, may have just wanted to put this one out of its misery.
In any case, we all have Westworld to look forward to.

I freaking loved this show!! Can't believe it was not so well received to the point of cancellation. Devastated.

TMZ reports that all domestic charges against former WWE Superstar Adam Rose have been dropped.
Rose has shown that he’s getting professional help for his marital issues after the incident at his Florida home last month. Rose was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and felony tampering with a witness after grabbing his wife by the face during an argument, then preventing her from calling 911.
Rose’s wife begged the judge to go easy on Rose, saying he did not hurt her in any way and that the situation was blown out of proportion. She also told the judge last month that Rose had been getting counseling from his pastor and she believed he was responding positively to it.
The incident happened while Rose was serving a WWE Wellness suspension and led to him being granted his WWE release after being suspended indefinitely.
Prosecutors told TMZ that the victim stopped cooperating and filed documents to drop the case, which is now officially closed.
Rose’s lawyer, Maj Vasigh, told TMZ:
“The charges were dropped in this case because, as both he and his wife have maintained from the beginning, Mr. Leppan was absolutely innocent. Mr. Leppan did not, nor would he ever hurt his wife or anyone else.”
“Suspicion of domestic violence is a very serious matter, as it should be. Responding officers sometimes, even if unsure of what happened, make an arrest just to be on the safe side. That is what happened here; and after a careful look at totality of circumstances, the justice system came to the correct conclusion.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Leppan both continue to be madly in love. And while no relationship is ever perfect, they are relieved that this very public personal experience is over.”

San Francisco 49er’s wide receiver Torrey Smith got physical with a dude who was all up in his face Friday night … but only to help Damien Sandow and Colt Cabana win a wrestling match.
The crowd popped big time when Torrey got involved in the action at MCW in Joppa, MD during a contest pitting The Bruiser, Sandow, Colt and Johnny Crabcakes against The Kings.
Watch the video, Smith doesn’t hold back while shoving manager Justin Schiegel to the ground — and he even attempts to lets his young son get a few shots in for good measure.
The NFL player followed up by celebrating in the ring afterward and sent the crowd home happy.

Former WWE Superstar Adam Rose has been in the news since April for a suspension, arrest and subsequent release … now he’s talking for the first time about all of it with The Sheet.
Pro Wrestling Sheet Editor-in-Chief Ryan Satin spoke via e-mail with Adam — now known as Aldo Rose — and the ex-Social Outcast was completely open during their conversation.
What prompted his request for a release from WWE:
“It was a mutual thing. Honestly, I had just hit too many problems back to back. My mistakes or not, guilty or not? It was starting to look really bad. It was just the best choice for everyone involved and the WWE and I knew that.
Adam Rose never quite took off in the WWE! Is it the company’s fault, or my fault? Probably a bit of both. The character Adam Rose that debuted on NXT was not the same character that the WWE Universe got. Honestly, I am happy to leave. It was time. I wanted to be home more. My boys and my wife needed me. My poor wife had been carrying the load the whole time while I was off living my dream. It was not right or fair to her or my boys.”
If anyone in WWE ever reached out after he tweeted the doctor’s note:
“I never heard one single word from anyone. But I knew what I was doing when I released that doctors note, I knew the the likely outcome and implications and accepted them! I think the Wellness Policy is a great thing and absolutely needed. Just take a look at the mortality rate of pro wrestlers of the past, I totally get it. WWE has done an amazing job of making sure that doesn’t ever happen again. But I think in some cases, my case included, they jumped the gun for whatever reason.”
Growing up with ADHD and how using prescribed Adderall changed his life:
“I have always had ADHD. That’s why I was a high school drop out. Could never study, read a book or do anything that required any sort of attention span for any period of time. It made life hard. School was impossible and it even affected personal relationships.
Back then my mom remembers there only being Ritalin in South Africa and she was scared to put me on it. I wish she had! I may have finished school! To me, Adderall was a life changer and wonder drug. I could finally read a book!!! I did not like certain things about the drug, but it helped me actually slow down and focus. Seeing as though it’s already public knowledge … I think I can safely say yes, WWE knew, and knew for almost a year.”
Comments on recent arrest:
“As for my arrest, well that was a complete nightmare! It’s all being cleared up now, but the damage to our lives is permanent. My wife was like ‘what the hell is going on’ when it happened. I don’t exactly even know why it happened … even now. I think law enforcement, who I have the utmost respect for, may have acted too quickly.
They never knew the full story and made some assumptions that will now scar my family’s history forever. My wife is my world and my rock. I don’t deserve her in anyway. As a man, I am willing to say and admit she is the toughest and strongest person I know. I am proud of her! Proud to be her husband! Proud to have her raise my boys.”
Plans for the future:
“As of right now, I plan to work as much as I can. I never got a chance coming from South Africa to work the indies, so this is all very exciting for me. I love the fact that I now control Aldo Rose. I can control who he is, what he is and where he goes.
Let’s just say this, the PG is finally out of the party! We do it my way now! Adam Rose is dead, the Rosebuds are dead … but what’s next is going to be much better and much, much more … me.
It’s gonna be worth the ride!!”
Stay tuned for updates.
