  1. Idea for a future WCW brand.   Imagine... After the Invasion angle of 2001, WWE brings back WCW as a full fledged brand in 2002, around the time we got Ruthless Aggression Raw in real life.

During the Invasion angle, WCW wins a stipulation match.  In doing so, WCW is granted a place in the WWE corporate structure not with a VP but a full-fledged WCW President (kayfabe), with the high level of autonomy that entails.  In the negotiations, Vince refuses that the president be a McMahon or anyone who has ever been president, VP, or chairman, or commissioner in WCW before, ruling out Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff, and even The Cat Ernest Miller.  In a shocking scene much like Ric Flair's late 2001 return, the new president of WCW is The American Dream Dusty Rhodes.  And just for the sake of doing whatever I want, Dusty names a day to day Administrator, which is me.  And have Dusty talk about how he's gonna have fun hanging with Vince in Titan Towers.

OK, so.  Commentators are Scott Hudson and uh... I don't really know who would be the color guy yet.  Larry Zbyszko was boycotting WWE because Bruno was.  Bobby Heenan hated WCW.  I don't think Straight Shootin' Stevie Ray would do it.  Michael Hayes?  He could joke about how Vince didn't want him on "WWE" TV anymore but he's fine with it on WCW or something.

For visual flair, we want something very distinct, very WCW.  So let's do something CLASSIC.  The logo is the classic WCW logo.  I tried everything else and it just didn't work.  Silver logo brings up too many bad feelings.  Red logo from 2000-2001 (look at late WCW magazine) is too generic.  Invasion wCw logo evokes no nostalgia.  We've got the 1998-99 WCW Nitro setup, with a few modern touches like the Titantron and WWE-style crowd barriers and floor padding.  And we've got my beloved blue referee shirts with the black bow ties.  I might create this arena later if I feel like installing the game again.  If not, maybe I'll save it for a future game... One with create-a-story in it, since that might be what it takes to make me buy it.

Championships!  We don't want too many.

1 Obviously you've got a world title.  Is it the Big Gold or something else, I don't know yet.

2 World Tag Team Titles. Treat it less as a midcard-level "a singles world champ could beat these guys in a handicap match" and more of a world title

    3 United States Championship

4 WCW was known for its great cruiserweight division. But it was segregated, with a glass ceiling.  So let the cruiserweights loose, let them compete for the world title. But I just had this idea... A Lucha Libre Championship Belt!  For the Mexican and Japanese high flyers who aren't going to win the world title anyways due to the language barrier. This idea is what inspired me to make this post

    5 Perhaps a women's championship but I'm not sure

  2. Fascinating.  I'm still logged into this forum.  I forgot to create this one last arena before I deleted the game.  So I have gone back and done that, and deleted the game again. Enjoy.

    WCW Final Nitro

I was watching Death of WCW and I said to myself "I could make that".  This one is arena only, no show (can use Nitro 99 or 2000 as a base for that).

  3. The original Big Gold Belt... is back.  I think I perfected it for 2K23.  This is no imitation, folks. This is the real deal.  The proof is in the photograph one post above this one.  This is my masterpiece, my proudest creation.

As always, for tags you can search my name or WCW.

I have a few arenas as well!

    WCW Monday Nitro TNT

I think the reason I took so long to upload this one is because I was worrying over the shiny aprons. They aggravate me so much.  But I just decided to ignore them.  I went back to the drawing board on this one as well, meticulously recreating every little detail in the stage, especially my beloved purple lights.  I can't even credit NecromicoN for those. I brightened those up myself, to try to recreate the glow effect seen in WCW Nitro (PS1) and, well, WCW television.  I also adjusted all the lights to the colors I preferred.  And I'm trying something new for the banners.  Do note, the commentary team never actually spawns at the stage desk, for unexplained reasons.  Fun fact: The flame mats only lasted through the year of 1998.  On the first episode of 1999, they switched to plain black floor mats.  So this "ideal" version of Monday Nitro, with the ring logo and flame mats, only lasted a few months.

    WCW Monday Nitro 1999

The whole reason I reinstalled in the first place is because I started watching WCW 1999 and 2000 and I thought "Hey, I could make that [arena]."  My Nitro 99 of previous entries was ok, but not up to my current standards, so I went back to the drawing board and started over from scratch.

    WCW Monday Nitro 2000

Did you know you can use the Raw is War set with a different titantron now? Crazy but it allows for things like this!  And yes, I allowed this particular tron to show entrance videos.  For the Bischoff-Russo reboot, they colored the ring mat blue and ... reversed the colors on the ropes and turnbuckle pads!  As an arena creator, this has tripped me up more times than you realize.

    WCW Thunder 2000

I wanted to see if I could make this one.

    WCWThunder2000.thumb.jpg.c18a01e00b78ba06ae4c24a1059605a2.jpg

And then I uninstalled the game again.  I just have so many games that I want to get through.  Also... I was going to try to create Lance Storm's Canadian Heavyweight Championship.  But then I saw that apparently the WCW U.S. title sideplates aren't in create-a-championship?  Oh you probably have to buy it with VC or something?  Anyway I said no to that.  I'm onto other games.  I hope somebody gets some use out of this stuff or at least enjoys the pictures.

  4. Er... Did I ever upload my Monday Nitro?  It's in my game...

Well, I only briefly reinstalled WWE 2K24.  Maybe for a few days.  I needed to use the game to help me construct a stage for a potential future Thunder 2000.  In fact, Nitro 2000 and Thunder 2000 are coming along great.  I might upload my Original Big Gold at some point too. Maybe.  But for now...

    WCW World Heavyweight Championship 2001

Based on the all-gold version used from December 2000 until WWE made one with a WWE logo in 2003.  It might not look like much at first, but this belt really sizzles in game.  Also since I haven't spent any money on this game, the only "WCW guys" I have unlocked are maybe Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart. It would be more fitting if I used Hollywood Hogan, I guess, seeing as he walked out of Bash at the Beach 2000 with Jeff Jarrett's belt that looked just like this one.

  5. Sorry to bump my own topic, but I don't have anybody else to talk to about this stuff.

So it turns out... You can dye Hulk Hogan's hair but not his mustache.  I'm going to hold back on the cynic in me.  It might not be intentional.  I noticed the mustache looked different even in the early footage of the game.  It might actually be baked into the model.

I might take a bit of a break, because I need to go back to the drawing board on my Monday Nitro.  What happened was, I had spent a bunch of time editing Necromicon's arena textures that he made for... 2K19 or something.  Then he made an updated version of the Nitro texture.  I tried to Frankenstein's monster what I was working on with the new lights.  I also darkened what I was doing several times because the titantrons at the time were ultra bright.  I ended up resaving it multiple times, threw some gaussian blur on there a few times, and the whole thing ended up being a dark, blurry mess even after I tried to brighten it back up for 2K23.  So yeah I'm going to try to find the original files redo the whole thing.

  6. And so it begins.  Apparently according to my folders here, I created him in 2K23.  I remember being disappointed though.  Randy Anderson, sometimes called  "Peewee" by his peers, was my favorite WCW referee.  I always liked him, so I wanted to do right by him in this game.  He's the only referee to be in the game WCW Nitro, as a playable character even.  Seems like a nice and humble guy, and a real pro.  The tape on his fingers was apparently to protect his wedding band.  We finally get Charles Robinson in a game and I can't put him in the blue shirt, alas.  LUGER WON THE TITLE!  LUGER WON THE TITLE!!

Randy Anderson - tags WCW, referee, and my name

    It's quite surreal.

WCW Bash At The Beach - It has returned, WITH the actual props!

Ah yes.  This game finally lets me add a titantron to the Bash At The Beach 94 stage.   CAA mode feels quite different this year.  Still getting used to the controls, but the mode seems to offer a bit more freedom than before, although the weird rubbery apron is still an issue if using darker logos or apron textures.  I did not originally have the mat logo with the purple gradient on the "beach" part, so I used 2K's and erased the white outline.  Also, I had made several scaffold banners years ago, just in case the opportunity ever presented itself.  Based on 1997, so there's more gray than I generally prefer.

  7. Good news: I have WWE 2K24 and didn't have to spend my own money to do it.

Bad news: Look, I think I'm having an old man moment here.  I'm terrible at these new WWE games.  I despise the controls.  I do not enjoy playing the matches anymore.  This is compounded by the fact that all the cool stuff is locked behind modes like Showcase and MyFaction, OR requires purchase with VC.  I don't feel comfortable spending money on this game yet, so no WCW Pack for me at the moment, and any unlockables are coming the slow way.  I already spent my VC on the WCW Women's Championship and Halloween Havoc 97.  Due to my lack of passion these days, and the fact that other creators have already made a bunch of great WCW stuff, I will not being going hot and heavy from now on.  And the last bit of bad news.  What's with the wonky camera in create an arena?  My goodness, I can't see a thing!  I think I've figured it out, though.  R3 = "lock camera".

BUT, it's not all bad.  My first couple of creations are looking perfect!  I'll try to get them uploaded within the week.  They are my favorite referee, and Bash at the Beach.  Oh yes, when I saw that they finally added the referee shirts to CAW mode, I got excited.

  8. I'm still waiting for the Amazon seller to ship The Sims 2 FreeTime, which I ordered on Friday. My last expansion pack, and then my Sims 2 expansion collection will be complete. I don't have any Stuff Packs, though. I might decide to buy Mansion & Garden Stuff eventually, but I only want it for the ceiling fans.

  9. You know I've been watching this Pluto TV stuff and it reintroduced me to Beavis and Butthead. Honestly, I don't agree with how it gets overshadowed by King of the Hill. That show had a much longer run, but I like the humor more in B&B. I like when Beavis says something, Butthead "corrects" him and Beavis is like "Um... oh yeah."

  10. Grinding away at Mortal Kombat 11. Halfway done with achievements. Still an inconceivable amount of unlockables though.

Also, using my $12 Amazon basics wired Xbox controller to play a competitive fighting game, and it feels great. Showing no signs of breaking down, no sticking buttons, no problems at all. Just goes to show, too many people have preconceived notions about what "quality" means.

Amazon Basics is a surprisingly good brand overall.

  11. Been playing off and on

    1. Star Wars: The Old Republic (90+% of my time)

    2. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PS)

    3. The Sims 2 (PC)

And I just bought River City: Tokyo Rumble, though I won't be playing it for a while.

I've gotta tell you, though. The most disappointing thing about The Sims 2 on this Windows 10 PC is the startup time. Loading inside the game isn't a big deal, but the actual launch takes 4 minutes before I even get to the EA logo. The game's loading screen are actually pretty fast, and I think I know why. The game may be installed on HDD, but a lot of stuff (neighborhoods, sims, custom content) is in the documents folder, which is on the SSD.

As for Resident Evil 3, I'm playing it on hard mode. I've never actually beaten this game without a GameShark before. It's the only classic-style RE game that I've never beaten without cheats, and I'm also going to try to do it without my strategy guide either. Kind of a blind run. Of course the challenge here is old Nemmy himself, and the RE3-exclusive gunpowder system.

  12. Playing Leon A for the first time in a long time, I didn't realize the zombies were in different rooms. Sherry cleared out a lot of them in Claire's game, lol. My shotgun ammo is pretty scarce in the beginning because I had to skip all the items before the police station so I get get the costume key. Lots of zombie hoard rooms, but I managed a sweet triple headshot with the shotgun.
