That's just silly, tbh. No movie could possibly warrant a 0. I honestly think that even the worst movie ever made should probably be somewhere in the 10 or 15 out of 100 range. Is the animation well done? Is the voice acting decent? Are there any redeeming values at all? How does someone value something at a zero?
And why is Rotten Tomatoes such a highly regarded source of movie reviews anyway? I've been trying to figure this out for a while now. Especially when I see "certified fresh" labels on DVD releases and things...I'm like "Oh, come on..."
I'm sure the Emoji movie sucks...based just on what it is. It was bound to suck from the onset. But, yeah...anyone who rates a movie with a zero should never be trusted to review anything ever again.
I always go back to the grading system I had in school when I think about reviewing things. Out of 100...70 is a C (and is average), anything below that is below average, anything higher than that is considered good. 80 is a B, 90+ is an A...60 is a D, 50 and below is an F, etc. Always how I rate things. If it's a 5/10 or below, then it's considered a downright bad movie. It doesn't need to be a zero...it could be a 3 or a 2/10 and still convey that it's a shit movie.
Honestly after seeing multiple trailers for Emoji Movie it seems more like a low-budget version of inside out

Dunkirk is probably the best movie of this year it's amazing how that intensely made that movie with little to no dialogue
