I also heard that the Buck that Darby intended to fall on actually had to position himself there, so apparently the spot up was set up fake too, so that’s nice.

Meh...it was fine. The Buck was never laid on the glass, and he never positioned himself on it either. He was merely standing in front of it, and got pulled out of the way. It made enough sense to get a pass. One could argue that Darby set it up to use later, but saw an opportunity when the opponent was standing in front of it...but he misjudged and ate shit himself.

Darby Allin is climbing Mt Everest on March 27th, and I honestly think this is how he dies. - This isn't something you can overcome by sheer will of mind over matter. It isn't the typical "car crash" resiliency that Darby is used to. People die there. There are hundreds of bodies on the mountain that people step over when they climb. People freeze to death, they run out of oxygen. Darby weighs 175lbs and I don't think he has any sort of conditioning for doing such a thing.

Furthermore, if he does die up there, he will likely be left there...because it risks other people's lives to bring people down. Darby is a risk taker, and the Mt Everest climb is the exact opposite of that. You cannot take risks. You need to do that climb perfectly, by the books.

What's hilarious about that? Lame to me

It's because Rock posted like a 20 minute video. - ie: the person who the promo was intended for isn't going to watch it at all, because it was too long. So...Rock wasted his breath.

  4. I actually liked the concept of MyFaction in 2k23, but rarely bothered with it since it was repetitive and nothing you unlocked could be used elsewhere. But, I will definitely be playing it a lot this year since the unlockables actually matter now.

On a side note, I managed to unlock one more achievement in 2k23 and now I'm really, truly finished with it. Sitting at 915/1000 now...but, the last six that I have to unlock are entirely too annoying to bother with. So...I'm happy with that. Also deleted 2k23 a few minutes ago. I'm content with just not playing any WWE until the release of 2k24. I need a break from this past week of grinding.

  5. Getting excited now. - Have the game installed and ready to go.

Also finished pretty much all of the 2k23 achievements that I feel like putting myself through the torture of doing. Finally got the 100 faction wars wins, which wasn't hard...just time consuming. Feel like I'm ending where I am...at 895/1000. I can't imagine replaying the two My Rise stories for the alternate achievements. So...that's 3 that I'm just gonna let go. And the other ones are for GM mode, which I'm pretty bad at. I started playing it...but, I've been having a pretty hard time. Lol

    Anyway...5 more days.

  6. A few random notes...

Liv Morgan improved a ton. It's actually crazy. - Everyone in that women's match was really doing a great job. But, I did make note of how good Stratton is, and how much Liv has improved. Also, I like Raquel Rodriquez's more natural look as opposed to what she left printed on Nia Jax's fupa. - I don't know why so many of the girls overdo it with makeup. I get that pro wrestling is about glamour and stuff...but, the natural look really works for some people. (If you are a powerhouse brawler...I don't think you need a ton of makeup to look like a barbie doll). I honestly wish Rhea would drop the makeup too...but at least hers is a gimmick. Having the goth look at least makes sense in that regard. But, I still think she's stunning without it.

Cody getting a full arena fireworks display over the water was hilarious. He didn't even have a match or do anything. Lol

In the men's match, the interactions between all the competitors in their pods was hilarious. Whether it was KO banging his head on the glass and screaming...looking like he genuinely might be a threat to himself and others...or the stuff with Logan Paul and Drew. Paul drawing stuff on the glass with his breath was a fun touch...and Drew flashing him in response was comedy.

Orton's selling was on full display. I still don't know that his back is actually okay. And even with that aside...his selling of other moves, including the finish with the knockout punch were amazing as usual. He's just on another level with that stuff. - If his back is okay, then he really just painted a whole picture with that. From the way the injury happened, to the way he sold every little bump. - Again...I really don't know. It seemed scary.

Ironically, I think it turns out that Raquel had a condition that made her face swell, and that's why she looked the way she did. - I genuinely thought she looked better than normal. Lol

Replayed when dominick was kicked out of the match. Don't know why it turned into black for a few seconds. What was censored in that part.

    Doubt it was censored.

Probably just a production error due to to being in a different country and the ridiculous amount of wires being run, satellites, etc.

Rumor has it, Nia Jax is beating Rhea for the title at Elimination Chamber.

I've honestly feared this all along. Her connection to Rock and pushing her out of nowhere kinda make it feel that way. Plus, WWE lowkey LOVE to have hometown heroes lose when they should win. It's a pattern that has repeated before. I'm praying it's not the case...but they've done dumb shit before.

  9. Drew is valued as much as ever, IMO...but, they have ZERO idea what to do with him.

He can't be involved with either world title, because there is other stuff being built around that. And he can't be IC champ, because Gunther has that locked down. They did a little tease with putting him in Judgement Day...but, I have a feeling he may have turned that down himself. And with Sheamus gone, he can't even have a typical "big UK lads" storyline. So, he's just floating. When Punk comes back, it seems likely that will be the first feud.

Drew's been doing exceptional heel work and is still a big part of the weekly shows...but, WWE has booked themselves into a corner in almost every division. - It isn't just Drew, tbh...there are a lot of men and women who are left just kinda not doing much. - The long term booking of the championships has been fun...but, it's happening in almost every division simultaneously. It's happening with Rhea too. Just a lot of men and women with nothing to really chase for the past few years.

Now that he is with TKO, he doesn't need those Disney endorsements anymore

TKO is fake in their own way.

Don't get me started on how I feel about Dana White and Joe Rogan, and the whole Russia/Saudi Arabia blood money thing. UFC has basically been a propaganda machine for the better part of the past decade.

  11. So...I'm leaning towards Deluxe for this.

The 40 Years version just sounds like highway robbery. - If I'm viewing things right, the ONLY thing you get for that additional price, is a WM40 arena and some different attires for people who are already playable. - They make it sound like you'll be missing the entire 40 year showcase...but that's apparently bullshit?

I really don't have the money to spend this year. Even the $99 is way too much for me. BUT...yeah. I think I'll get Deluxe and then maybe get the additional content if it's sold separately at a later date when I have more money.

  12. So, apparently there is a caveat in the CMLL deal that states no Mexican wrestlers outside of CMLL can appear on episodes that the CMLL people appear on. This would include names like Thunder Rosa, Lucha Bros, Bandido, Dralistico, RUSH, Kommander, Vikingo, etc. - I'm honestly not even sure if Tony can legally agree to terms that limit people's ability to work based on their race. I mean...that's what it is.

I also wonder if Andrade somehow knew this deal was happening, and that's why he dipped...? In any case...not a great show of loyalty to the people like RUSH or Bandido who signed exclusively with AEW. Or to veterans like Thunder Rosa and Lucha Bros who helped build AEW...

  13.

So...not only was Ashley raped in Kuwait and officials knew it...but, they actually brought her to her hotel and then left her there alone while everyone else left the country. Not just left in her hotel alone, still paralyzed...but left in Kuwait alone. - She had to wake up days later, knowing what had happened to her, and catch a flight on her own out of a country she knew little about.

  14. Christian's entire stable is played out. Nick Wayne isn't over. Luchasaurus isn't over. Mother Wayne does not deserve to be on tv. The sensible thing to do is to allow Edge and Christian to simply work together on their own. Everything else needs to go.

  15. Nothing is the least bit surprising...and it isn't just women. I mean...there is a reason why the "Vince loves big sweaty men" meme exists. It wasn't created in a vacuum. It's a legitimate thing. Vince pushed who he liked...and he liked very specific things in both men and women.

Scratching my head at TK'S booking yet again.  Why reinstate the rankings system, and the next week do an eliminator match?

I think the important thing is just that people don't get opportunities that they haven't earned.

Eliminators or tournaments are a good way to get around sticking entirely to the rankings, while still operating within those constraints. I don't mind it. It's actually a good way of doing things. Like...here are the rankings, but you will have opportunities to "break out" if you can outwork A,B, and C.
