I'm glad they let it just keep going too. I kept expecting it to cut...and maybe they'd show the rest of it on youtube or something. But, they really let it just go as long as it was meant to.

The finish to Mania was absolute art. Nobody was expecting the half of that.
The only thing I would have changed is putting Austin in Place of Undertaker. Because, in my mind, Austin was Rock's biggest rival...not Taker. But, that's apples and oranges. It was an amazing segment.
Rollins knowing that he was too broken and beaten down after his own match to really put up a fight against Reigns...so he just traumatized that dude with Shield lore. Holy shit. I mean...that's the entire story. Reigns could have retained if he hit Cody with the chair and ignored Seth...but, he couldn't. He never grew past that moment of treachery. It's honestly why he created the Bloodline. He surrounded himself with family because he could never trust anyone else. He became paranoid and delusional. Seth turning on Roman broke that man for the rest of his life. They actually humanized Reigns and made him a victim with that little bit of storytelling.

AEW is never going to be "faces" to the Punk fans. Period. It doesn't matter if Punk was wrong, is proven to be wrong, etc. That fanbase is not going to shift their opinions on their favorite wrestler. Hence...AEW can use that to make the Bucks more hated for saying "we're right". It's very straight forward, and it will work. All those Punk fans are ready to hate whoever challenges their guy.

I mean...I fail to see what even is the point you're making there. WWE is supposed to have a 30 day clause for titles, and Rollins was out for over 30 days...so my point is entirely valid and I don't "take it back" or anything. He should have been stripped of the belt, IMO.

Because the Bucks are obnoxious shits, and it doesn't matter if they're "right" or not. Them being objectively "right", and being proven so by video absolutely works in favor of them being heels. Nobody likes someone who always has to be "right". You're proving it by the very virtue that we're having this disagreement.
"We were justified in firing your favorite wrestler" is about as heel as heel shit can get.

Also...I don't think Rollins is a great champion at all.
Major props to Drew for making that feud interesting in any degree. Does he need to be champion heading into Mania? Absolutely not. I don't think he does anything in the feud that someone else couldn't have done. So, yeah...all Drew. Like, 110%. -And since this is the AEW section and not the WrestleMania section...that's all I've got to say about that. (Even though I fail to see how we made this jump at all).

People...it's not a waste of television time. It will literally be used to make the Bucks bigger heels, and probably set up a return for Jack Perry, who has a match in Chicago with NJPW on the 12th (two days after Dynamite). It is going to be an angle on tv, like any other...with a direction and a vision, and a "point". It isn't just like "here's the video...okay, that's over". Obviously, they're booking around it. Why would anyone assume anything else? That's stupid.
There's a *censored*ing reason why it's presented by the Bucks and not Tony Khan. It would be awful if it was "Tony Khan wishes to show the video without commentary". Which is not what it is...and everyone knows that's not what it is...so why are we insisting on treating it that way? Because it's convenient for a narrative? Give it a rest.

It's so wild to me that we were all concerned about the Prime ad being in the middle of the ring...and that ended up being absolutely FINE compared to the other ads that were everywhere else. Like...I don't know how much Logan Paul paid for that spot. But, he got robbed...because, I was forgetting that the prime logo was even there for most of the show. - Was too busy being blasted with LED boards that said shit like 'American Home Shield' 'Dude Wipes' and 'Aguas Frescas'. Lol

They're literally saving face because Punk won't stop slandering them. - In absolutely what way is it pathetic to be like "fine...here is exactly what happened, so people can stop talking about it"?- You're just upset because it's going to prove definitively what most of us already knew (Punk is a child).
Punk has been trashing AEW since it happened...and he just did it again. And now we're at the point where they really have to say "listen...he's talking shit, and here's what actually happened". - Why are they supposed to sit back and let Punk spin this narrative of what happened, with all the resources of a giant company like WWE and this big podcasts and interviews, on a platform the size of WM weekend...when they literally HAVE THE FOOTAGE to say otherwise? Only people in denial are upset about this.
If you think Punk did nothing questionable, then you should want to see the footage too. Damn.

What exactly are we saying that Drew has been hypocritical about?
His whole thing has basically just been trying to convince other workers that people like Rock and Punk are hurting the business. He hasn't really done much heelish shit, aside from celebrating Punk's injury and saying some hurtful (but truthful things). His entire feud with Seth has literally been "Oh, your Mania match has been put in question because Rock messed everything up? That's too bad. You can fight me instead."

Just realized they moved Collision start time to 11:30 because Mania is on Saturday night. Massive oof.
Mania is always exhausting. Ain't nobody looking to watch two more hours of wrestling after an entire day of Mania. - I saw when they announced that time change on Dynamite or whatever...but it didn't really register with me. I thought it was because of NBA or something. Yeah...this is going to be AEW's roughest show by far. It could be a great show...but it's going to be watched by like 10 people.

First off, yes...there was a lot of negative buzz about AEW after what Punk said during that interview. So, Edge (a respected veteran) going out and saying "Actually, I like working here quite a bit...and I'm happy to be here" was an important thing to do. Secondly, it very much added to the "show at hand"...because, you had Edge introduce Ospreay in a bit of a 'passing of the torch moment' and have a brief staredown with him and the TNT title, as if to suggest that they might meet in a title match down the road.
There was nothing wrong with the segment. It made sense, and it was positive.
People are only throwing their arms up about it because it's AEW doing self-preservation. If you did the same thing in WWE, no one would say anything. In fact, WWE has done similar things before. It's just as much of a morale boost for the roster as it is for the fans. Just something to say "Look...those of us who are here enjoy being here. One guy doesn't speak for how the rest of us view AEW."
People like Cody and Adam Copeland are very much entitled to speak on behalf of AEW and say "We're proud of this. We like this. This is a good thing for the wrestlers and the fans." - And it's something that needs to be done, because there are far too many people making careers out of claiming otherwise.
Everyone laughs and jokes when people like Punk or Cornette give AEW the rundown...but bitch and moan when anyone tries to defend the company, and that's just bullshit. To the contrary, Punk continuing to run down AEW does absolutely nothing positive for himself or WWE. He should give it a rest.
It would be questionable if someone went out and said "Screw Punk. Screw WWE"...(which they have done plenty of times in the past). But, this was not that. This was literally just "We like it here. We have a bright future here. Please have fun and enjoy the show"...and again, if you have a problem with that type of message, then you must be the most bitter person walking this earth....because, it was pure positivity.

More to that point...here is Dax with Cash, Adam, and Mark Briscoe AFTER the show went off the air, cutting another promo about how glad they are to be in AEW, how glad they are that AEW exists, and how they oppose the negative opinions that people have about what AEW is doing.

I'm really on my last straw with some of y'all. - If you can't get behind an industry veteran saying "I love wrestling", then there's no hope for you. I thought it was a great promo that helped direct the energy of the show and get things back on track.
If AEW didn't respond at all, people would say they were being bitches and avoiding the drama. - They choose to respond with a completely positive "love all wrestling" statement...and WWE marks still whine about it and tell Edge to "come home". - This is why we can't have nice things.
At this point, I think Edge is genuinely frustrated with the way fans are treating him and his own personal choices. I think he is happy in AEW...wrestling with Christian and winning belts after WWE basically told him to go home. The promo didn't feel forced. It had obvious talking points...but, none of it felt disingenuous. I certainly wouldn't call Edge a liar or a sellout. There was conviction in his words. - He came to AEW to retire with Christian, and to have first-time matches with people he's never wrestled. He's having fun, and he wants the fans to stop their griping, and have fun with him. Very straight forward. Literally nothing to be unhappy about...unless you're just a miserable person.
Furthermore, the promo accomplished a lot in suggesting what's next for Adam. Who he sees himself defending his belt against. What the path to his retirement will look like. Maybe his retirement match itself being against Ospreay for the title...it wasn't just an "ask the fans to be nice to Tony" promo like WWE marks claim it was.

So...I can't complete the latest live event on MyFaction because the game says I don't have the required Gunther card. BUT...the card was supposed to be awarded for a weekly tower (Week 6), which I completed. I'm staring right at the tower and it has "completed" stamped across the face of the Gunther card. So...I guess I'm just screwed. What the actual *Censored*.

CMLL show last night was a lot of fun.
Willow's music being played on repeat while all the women from that team came out was both wholesome and hilarious. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to happen or not, but the dancers went ham with it. Lol.
Bryan Danielson looked to be having the time of his life. Crowd was huge and he was having fun inciting them. Really cool that he got to have a match with Blue Panther (and they booked a singles match in one week). On a side note, probably my favorite Danielson gear of all time. Looking real clean with the White/blue/gold with the red accents.
Overall just a great show. Those CMLL crowds are something else. Pure atmosphere.
