  1. I’m not going to lie it’s a pretty bad grind.

i didn’t play MyFaction in 23 but i did in 22 in order to get the trophies for the platinum. I noticed on that guys screen shot that cards for sale are 20/30k points, that in 22 would be a lot of matches, I mean sign in bonuses get you 50. Matches at the top end may give you like 100/150. So to get 20 or 30k you’re going to be grinding out a LOT of matches

Unless of course they made it more realistic in 23 and I just missed it through not playing it.

  2. I’m not a big fan of 2k in general, but their games are slowly getting there.

Unfortunately their completely unnecessary change of the grappling system set the series back a good few years, making it so you have to grapple before every move ruins the flow of matches and just looks plain stupid. I’d love to see an actual match where the wrestlers did collar and elbow tie ups before every move just to illustrate how stupid it looks.

2k19’s system was fine, it really didn’t need changing. If we had 2k19’s controls with the current game, I’d have very little, likely no complaints. I’d go so far as to say that it could be considered one of the better games ever made.

The fighting stances also look stupid, but they COULD be good. If you’re going to out fighting stances in you do it like HCTP did. Taker, Rhyno, Brock, RVD, Rey… they all felt like themselves in that game due to the fighting stances. ATM everyone in 2k22/23/24 looks like they’re doing some stupid WWF attitude type pose. HCTP did however have the benefit of having a smaller roster which made implementing this easier. They need to either have a set of fighting stances that match the wrestlers better, or just take them out - which would be a shame considering what they could do with people like Muta for example.

That aside, the quality of life touch ups, camera changes and options, reading the match types we used to have and a very very good roster means that even I will say, that’s how close we are to a very good game.

Makes it an even bigger shame they’ve set themself back a few years, but it shows how close they could be.

  3. Not personally bothered about hypocrite Pepsi Phil, but it’s great the roster feels so up to date and I’m happy for all his fans he’s in.

The DLC overall is fantastic, they’ve actually knocked that out the park, it’s a fantastic roster this year and I love that they’ve gone so in on the amount of legends.

That third pack is a bit…. Wtf worthy, but as others have said who knows maybe it’s an opportunity to sneak some moves in.

Equally it’s a shame to have to wait so long for some of the best content but at the same time it’s great they’re supporting the game for a longer period.

MyFaction could, COULD actually be worthwhile this year, with some of the superstars they have on the roster and in DLC, some of the alts they could potentially provide could be incredible. Great DLC.

That Mankind model is amazing. I hope we get a brown version too from MyFaction I love that gear so much

Great isn’t it, it’s more of a 98 hell in a cell vs taker model with the scissor cut sleeves rather than the three quarter sleeves that nearly met his wrist tape they used for a good few years.

Id love the brown attire in full too, especially if they modified the hair slightly to have the chunks ripped out. I’d love an “In your House” showcase one day - ideally with the mind games match between him and Shawn included.

  5. Might seem a bit ridiculous, but could the plain baseball cap maybe be like an early version of an ECW Heyman?

Would seem a bit of a waste of a spot for an alt attire, but perhaps he comes in as a manager but also a playable GM in GM mode? They have added ECW to it after all.

Maybe a de-aged version with cap and pass round his neck?

Im struggling to think of anyone else for just a baseball cap.

  6. You know what I’d actually take Torrie Wilson as a decent addition if I’m honest. I feel like she would be helpful for universe mode and building shows across different timelines. Completely get she was never a wrestler at the level of the current day roster, but she was a sort of notable presence at the time in the same way Stacy was.

You won’t hear me crying out for some of the other people ‘left out’ that twitter gets itself upset about mind you. I don’t need someone like Joy Giovani to make the game complete.

However, for me, if we got say Ivory and Jackie back, added Torrie to Stacy, Trish and Lita, Chyna is there now, then of course the current roster and NXT - I’d actually find that pretty satisfying to build a universe mode with having a bit of diversity across era’s in it.

I like to create a universe where each of my shows has a little bit of a time period to it. My Current Raw show has Bayley, Bianca, Becky and Charlotte. SD has Natalya, Beth, Eve, and the Bella’s. I’ve got a ruthless aggression based show with the more up to date versions of Trish and Lita. Feel like some key females could add to it.

If they were to chuck Torrie in a pack with say Carlito, and perhaps some other early to mid 2000’s people, I’d take that.

People complain about not having enough CAW Slots every single year, but let me ask you guys this question respectfully...

How many of you will download or create enough CAWS to fill up every single slot in the game but will only use 4 or 5 of them to play with during gameplay? I was never one of those gamers who would create hundreds of Superstars and only book them in one match for the whole year and then forget they are even in my roster list.

    Easily.

Especially when you consider alt attires taking up slots as well. There are numerous people in the game that you enjoy giving numerous attires to, it made universe mode for example much better when you could tick the ‘random’ setting on attires and have people wrestle in different attires rather than the same one each week. Then in 22 they broke it, so they took the random setting out as they couldn’t work out how to fix it, so now it’s manual changes each time.

However every single year I easily use all 100 slots, on both caws and attires, and use each and every one of them in the game. In fact more often than not I’m having to delete people to fit others in before having to delete a second time to cycle my universe.

Nothing says "good marketing" more than having thousands of people misunderstand you and lots of "maybe" "not a yes but not a no" and the famous "we heard your complaints... but i am not sure if we implemented them"

    Jeez 2k

    Calling it now:

WWE 2k22: “ It hits different”

    WWE 2K23: “Even Stronger”

    WWE 2k24: “Finish your story”

WWE 2k25: “You’re going to buy it anyway”

  9. Love that, people say they need more than 100 caw slots and he says that 100 is a lot and asks what people want… whilst also dropping that their special ref mode will also now take up a caw slot if you want the ref to wear a shirt. So now your 100 caw slots are even more cluttered once you’ve corrected and updated attires, and added ref shirts for people. Even the earliest games just added a shirt for you.

2k get so many people hyped up early with their changes, which then over time become more apparent their changes aren’t as big as they led you to believe. Basically all the new matches are 1v1 by the sound of it.

2k are extremely lucky this is a niche game with crap competition - people pre-order out of tradition and because for a lot of people it’s the only real viable wrestling game on the market, Fire pro doesn’t suit everyone and AEW FF has been really badly fumbled.

This is why they get away with the marketing strategy of “pre order now and we’ll tell you what we’ve done with it a week before hand”.

  10. Most likely a sign they haven’t done a whole lot with those modes.

I feel like this happens every year with 2k. Quality of life updates and one more notable thing and lots and lots of people get hugely hyped for it, then as the reveals (or lack of) get closer to the reveal date people start to realise that most of the updates are small quality of life things and that most game modes are exactly what they were the year before.

It was really noticeable with 22-23 as once they announced wargames all of the hype completely ground to a halt.

This is the problem as discussed at length on here with yearly games I guess. It’s a shame, there’s a lot to like, if they just got rid of the stupid fighting pose no one does and the lock up before every single move these games could be right up there.
