  1. Indeed, criminally underrated are "The Super Smash Brothers", I miss them in PWG
  2. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2018/0419/639116/update-on-locker-room-fight-before-roh-steel-city-excellence/ Its a work brotha
  3. I thought it was quite a nice homage to her given she was on the 4th ever ROH show 16 years ago. I'd rather that than Kelly Klein being the "Brock Lesnar" of women in ROH. Honestly though I don't think, sadly WOH, or womens wrestling in ROH will ever take off they still seem to think of it as an afterthought, midcard filler. Theres other indie promotions that are way ahead in booking women as prominent and legimate contenders to the men on a card than ROH. This is coming from me and I used to quite like them using Lacey, Mschif, Daizee Haze and Sarah Del Ray back in the day. Awesome Kong was originally meant to be in AOTF in the place Necro Butcher took....I don't know where I'm going with this, other than ROH never seem to want to quite pull the trigger on the womens side, the only women on the roster who appears to be booked in a "meaningful" storyline is Brandi Rhodes (by proxy of Cody)
  4. Sal Rinauro is part of "Future of Honor" despite being a former tag team champion, and regular in 2005/2006 and again in 2009/2010? WTF?
  5. Thought Mandy Leon might get a contract, not necesarily convinced its all on her wrestling ability
  6. I prefer the previous/current TV and Tag belts massively
  7. I'm not sure these days it's that ROH don't want to sign people but more people not wanting to sign for them. Its evidently not "the place to be" anymore, as evident by some of the names that have left or gone for a WWN contact instead in recent times. I like Gresham but it just feels a little consolation prize to me after O'Reilly/Rush/Dijak not resigning and Keith Lee choosing WWN instead, think they'd have carried on booking him as and when had they not been turned down by other talent recently
  8. fair enough I was not aware they wrestled there (although I am aware of the promotion mainly through Alex Reynolds solo stuff prior to the Beaver Boys) and spellchecker got me with the Curtis I just don't agree being somewhere for 18 months is coming out of nowhere especially in wrestling
  9. not really, people being signed without ever being on the indys is surely coming out of nowhere? like say Curtis Hawkins and Zack Ryder back in the day off the top of my head
  10. Bates still came out of nowhere. His age is the key factor here. He may have briefly been on the UK indy scene, but he's 19 years old. For all intents and purposes...that is "coming out of nowhere"...and why would young talents come out of nowhere to sign with ROH? Oh...I don't know, because they're a globally recognized brand... Bates hasn't come out of nowhere if you follow UK indys at all. known of him for a good 18 months coming up 2 years, same with Pete Dunne. ROH are recognised but how much of that is through the current product or the past? Evolve and Progresses link up with WWE perhaps for a young wrestler is a much more attractive proposition? it's very telling at the minute, look at the list of good young talent leaving them, who've they signed recently, the Hardy's, Bully Ray? really? I just don't think ROH has an identity outside of the NJPW link up, Delirious doesn't seem to know what to do with half the roster, and books more old school "ROH names" in prominent positions, maybe it's the network wanting their name value I don't know, but there certainly seems to be a glass ceiling for the young talent ROH "creates". I'm not pretending to know anything, surely the name leaving ROH implies something though? it's always telling when good people leave a company in numbers in any walk of life. I've worked for companies that have been great for years and then for whatever reason - change in managers, profit, things change, good people leave, the company is no longer the company it was, reputation amongst potential new employees is poor
  11. Yo...literally who the *Censored* ever said that? Can you read? I can, you were implying young wrestlers can come out of nowhere and be signed by ROH (Tyler Bate being the example you used) I was suggesting why would they? for one they don't come out of nowhere if you follow other "lower" (better) indy promotions and two really what's the attraction of ROH other than the NJPW link up?
  12. I would have agreed during Gabe's era 2002 - 2008, they "created stars" but not now, they "discover" people that promotions like CZW/Beyond/PWX/AAW have been using for a while and then sign them up and don't have a clue how to use them, hence they leave, such is the case with the likes of Dijak, Rush and ACH. ROH cannot be creditted for creating any of these guys - tell me the last truly homegrown indy wrestler that ROH created? Cheeseburger? Rhett Titus?, Will Ferrera? as for Ricochet I think it's more a case of him not wanting to sign for ROH and stick with LU & NJPW. Its very telling how many and who is leaving ROH and not necessarily becuase its WWE related. Sadly they are just not at the forefront of Indy wrestling anymore or pioneers like they were, it's seems for indy wrestlers it's no longer the "place to be". There's a whole world of Indy wrestling out there creating more stars than ROH, they just profit off "lower" promotions hardwork. And why I'm earth would Tyler Bate sign for ROH now when he's NXT bound? the only attraction for working with ROH these days is their link up with NJPW
  13. I forgot to add to my post, that the fanatical 2004 - 2006 ROH fan that I was, where I followed the message board results & bought every DVD religiously is made up for Daniels, always felt he should have got the belt at the height of the prophecy angle or maybe when he came back to take on CM Punk (but I totally got why it was Gibson that dethroned Punk) he was always the best ROH legend that never won the belt so im very pleased for him
  14. but the funny thing is there to most older indy wrestling fans ROH is now seen as mainstream and uncool, it's a shadow of its former self - PWG took over as the indy place to be, and dare I say places like Evolve, AAW and Beyond is where indy wrestling is at its best along with PWG and Progress and ICW for UK. and I posted the predictable Kazarian double turn the minute he joined Bullet Club, another thing about ROH these days they rehash the same old storyline
  15. that and theres maybe been a shift in fan base for ROH, they attract a more casual fan these days I suspect
  16. ugh! this is why I don't watch ROH anymore, they lose good young stars like O'Reilly, ACH and Dijak because they don't know what to do with them and replace them with this! They "replace" them with this, BECAUSE people are leaving. Not the other way around. if they hadn't misused people so badly they wouldn't be leaving.
  17. ugh! this is why I don't watch ROH anymore, they lose good young stars like O'Reilly, ACH and Dijak because they don't know what to do with them and replace them with this!
  18. I think it'll play out that Kazarian will try and cost Adam Cole the title in his match against Daniels and then realign with Daniels, it's the same storyline they did with Cole & O'reilly before Cole joined bullet club
  19. why couldn't they just be plain old aggressive ANX circa 2011 that fueded with the Briscoes and actually looked good
  20. honestly I think he clicks his fingers/thumbs on both hands immediately after letting go of the opponents hands, look at the positioning of his thumbs afterward they look like he's clicking them against his fingers
  21. I think John Skyler deserves a more fitting introduction than being in a "top prospect" tournament, he should be on the main roster ahead of the likes of Cheeseburger, Caprice Coleman, and all the other mid to lowercard talent that don't get booked anywhere beyond ROH these days
  22. BJ Whitmer was under contract? Why, I thought he'd just be grateful to be booked anywhere, can't imagine any interest in him by any promotion post 2007 to have to sign him as exclusive
  23. Every othe company around the world makes use of the red hot rivalry and story between Scurll and Ospreay, ROH ignores it and teams them up, typical ROH; I could not wait for ROH to come to the UK in 2007, splashed out on front row tickets, this time around its meh, wouldn't bother with the cheapest ticket and they'll be less that 20 minutes from my house.
  24. I don't see why ROH need 6 man tag titles when they can't even utilise the multitude of tag teams they have to book an interesting tag division. I don't want to see Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser and/or Cheeseburger & Will Ferrera tag nevermind teams like this +1. I'm guessing it'll allow ROH to make use of their new working relationship with CMLL, expect a lot of Mexican teams in the tournament and some NJPW trios from Chaos & Bullet Club
  25. Ha ha at the merch plug at the end of the message, gotta love the Bucks
