  1. 1. Marriage Story 2. Under the Silver Lake 3. Uncut Gems 4. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 5. Knives Out 6. Little Women 7. Us 8. Mister America 9. Dolemite is My Name 10. The Lighthouse
  2. Watched Knives Out and Uncut Gems back to back. Both phenomenal. 2019 was such a great year for movies.
  3. My brother liked it and Ive heard plenty of other people say they liked it so dont let my opinion scare you too much.
  4. Probably my rankings after having rewatched all of them last week is 1. A New Hope 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. Return of the Jedi 4. The Last Jedi 5. Revenge of the Sith 6. The Force Awakens 7. Attack of the Clones 8. The Phantom Menace 9. The Rise of Skywalker
  5. I strongly disagree. Thats all I can say.
  6. Rian Johnson is a huge Star Wars fan.
  7. Im talking about Rise of Skywalker. Mandalorian being good is a consolation I suppose. Glad the finale is ahead of us and not behind us.
  8. Well that was a *censored*ing nightmare. Hope I warm up to it. At least the Mandalorian is good?
  9. I really like Solo and its almost entirely based on the chemistry between Han and Chewie. The actual plot I couldnt care less about. Never would have believed that Alden Ehrenreicht would be able to fill those shoes as well as he did. And Joonas Suatamo plays a great Chewbacca too. It was just really sweet seeing their banter and the blossoming of their friendship. Id rather have a show with those two than I would a show about Cassian Andor.
  10. Unironically the moment I was sold on the Last Jedi.
  11. I didnt want to say Twin Peaks season 3 but absolutely Twin Peaks season 3.
  12. I mean its not always the case. Especially recently. Though this is a lot more episodic than other shows Ive been into as of late. I dont have a problem with it or anything I dont have a ton of stake into how good this is episode to episode.
  13. Marriage Story probably beats Under the Silver Lake as my favorite movie Ive seen this year. Granted Ive probably only seen like 15 movies that came out this year cause I usually watch everything a year late, but still. Noah Baumbach really has only been getting better with age this is my favorite movie Ive seen from him and Ive really liked all of his more recent movies a lot.
  14. First three episodes were really good. Last two havent been god awful or anything, but theyve been noticeably weaker.
  15. I loved the Witch. Im really glad A24 has been over to crossover into the mainstream as a studio because they consistently produce not only original movies, but typically ones of high quality as well. I think people just like reliability. I think its part of why Marvel does so well. Sure Im not that into them, but I think generally everybody agrees they can go into a Marvel movie knowing it will at least be decent. A24 has that going for it too.
  16. I think studios havent caught onto the fact that remakes dont immediately mean success. For the most part its only comic book movies, Star Wars, Fast and Furious, 007, and Mission Impossible that can endure as these endless franchises for the time being. Nobody cares about this other shit. Nobody was clamoring for more Charlies Angels, or Chips, or some shit. The time to strike for that was almost 20 years ago. Nostalgia functions on a 20 year cycle typically.
  17. I guess I just figured generally almost everybody was over that. Netflix as far as I know doesnt do it when they stream older shows. Ive never been a Simpsons guy so I didnt know this was an ongoing issue, I just know if the aspect ratio is wrong on something its unwatchable for me.
  18. How the hell are we still *censored*ing up aspect ratios in 2019? Like full screens dead for a reason. Literally the reason TVs are shaped the way they are currently is to accommodate both widescreen and 4:3 aspect ratios. We found the solution, the problem shouldnt exist anymore.
  19. Smart to partner with Netflix rather than to make their own. NBC and CBS are delusional thinking the vast majority give enough of a shit to pay another monthly fee for only their shows.
