  1. I'm just impressed this place is still online, complete with its full history of posts dating back to... 2006? The Wayback Machine is great and all, but it's often of little help to old forums like this. Best case scenario: forums that don't require being logged-in to view, at least some of the more popular topics get archive. BUT that doesn't guarantee what was archived is useful. It was typical back in the day to upload any included media or files off-site, and just link to it in the forum post. Such is the case here - I'd love to see that Hollywood Hogan CAW I was working on for SvR 2010 PS2 but the pic I uploaded to Imageshack is long gone. I can't fink of any file hosting sites typical of the mid-2000s that would still be intact today. Some are gone completely, like Rapidshare & Megaupload. Others exist but as completely different services. The few gone untouched typically delete any content after it's been dormant for a set amount of time (so 99.99% of it). Middle-of-the-road: There's a public subforum or two, but viewing any of interesting threads requires registering an account. The Wayback bot can't archive anything beyond a registration wall. Typical: Viewing any part of the forum requires registering an account, so all that's saved is the login page. So I have a growing appreciation for digital fossils like this. AtariAge, GameFAQs, and Smacktalks come to mind.
