**FINAL UPDATE <31.07.2007>**
OK guys one final update.
1.Good news: The old guide with DKZStudio, Wavesplitter and friends is no more! The tutorial below is better in every way: Easier, shorter, less programs needed (no DKZStudio anymore ,hooray!) plus better results (unlimited song length).

2.If you have questions or are interested in SvR Modding I recommend you to visit Smacktalks (I have an account there myself). Draven and other guys over there are experts on this subject. Oh by the way you can find this tutorial, together with a german version on my homepage too. If you're german you might check that out...

3.Myself, I'm done with this subject and won't work on this thing any longer (at least til SvR2008 )
I hoped this tutorial helped some people making their game experience better cause this was my intention after all :) For all the the others that had no success with it - well maybe you want to give it another try with the updated guide below. It's easier and works 100% ;)

Kudos to Deerol for helping me! The result below wouldn't be possible without him!

Have a nice day and enjoy the summer! :2eye:

SvR-AUDIOEDITING TUTORIAL [PS2]

Following is needed:

Programs (all Freeware)

- Program that allows you to burn images (ISO)
- Audacity (Portable)
- WaveGain

Other:
- Computer with DVD-Burner
- Blank DVD-R disk (Verbatim)
- The game SvR07
- PS2 with modchip so that you can play burned copies
- 6 GB or more of free harddiskspace

First make sure you are able to see file extensions like .txt , .mp3 on your computer. Go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options / View tab. Uncheck the box that reads “Hide file extensions for known file types” and click OK. Now you should see file extensions of all your files on computer.
If you need help look here

1.Step: Building an ISO-Image of your game
Make an image file of your game. The result should be an ISO-file!
(Just use Google if you want to know how to make an ISO of your game. There are plenty of programs and instructions out there.)

2.Step: Extracting the ISO-Image with Xpert
Start Xpert.

WARNING:
From here on don't close Xpert until you are done with this tutorial!

- 1.0 If possible choose trumpetsound here!("sTrumpet1.wav")
- 1.1 Select "PS2 CDDvd5 /PSP UMD ISO Shrinker v1.04*ISO"
- 1.2 Open the SVR-ISO you created before

- 1.3 Press "Extract LBA" button
- 1.4 Press "Extract File" button
- 1.5 Press "Minimize to Close Tray"

Now Xpert will begin to extract the ISO to a folder named "@(ISO-Name)". This folder will be in the same folder where you put your ISO.

3.Step: Exploring the musicfiles with AFSExplorer
Start AFSExplorer.

-1.6 Select "Import AFS-File" under "File"

Now you should either open "GAME.AFS" or "ENTRANCE.AFS". You can find these two files in the folder created by Xpert ( "@(ISO-Name)"-folder). They are in subfolder "MUSIC". As soon as you open one AFS-file a message will pop up:

Just say "Yes". Now you can see the different adx files of the AFS. These adx files are musicfiles of the game. Hit "F4" key on your keyboard and you can play them with the soundplayer. GAME.AFS and ENTRANCE.AFS contain different adx files:

GAME.AFS
This AFS file contains all the background music from SvR07 („Music01“ to „Music12“) in the game.
The GAME.AFS consists of the 12 backround songs:

1.Song: „0200_0.adx“ , „0200_1.adx“ und „0200_2.adx“
2.Song: „0201_0.adx“ , „0201_1.adx“ und „0201_2.adx“
3.Song: „0202_0.adx“ , „0202_1.adx“ und „0202_2.adx“
4.Song: „0203_0.adx“ , „0203_1.adx“ und „0203_2.adx“
5.Song: „0204_0.adx“ , „0204_1.adx“ und „0204_2.adx“
6.Song: „0205_0.adx“ , „0205_1.adx“ und „0205_2.adx“
7.Song: „0206_0.adx“ , „0206_1.adx“ und „0206_2.adx“
8.Song: „0207_0.adx“ , „0207_1.adx“ und „0207_2.adx“
9.Song: „0208_0.adx“ , „0208_1.adx“ und „0208_2.adx“
10.Song: „0209_0.adx“ , „0209_1.adx“ und „0209_2.adx“
11.Song: „0210_0.adx“ , „0210_1.adx“ und „0210_2.adx“
12.Song: „0211_0.adx“ , „0211_1.adx“ und „0211_2.adx“

There are also dummy files and other short adx files, but don’t bother with them.
As you can see every song appears in 3 different adx files. The numbers (0-2) have the following meaning:

„…_0.adx“:
An adx file ending with „_0.adx“ is played after you won a match. You can say it’s the victory
theme. Oh, and this is also the file which is played for the background music in menu.
„…_1.adx“:
An adx file ending with „_1.adx“ is the entrance theme for a FACE Superstar. You will hear the crowd cheering in the background!
„…_2.adx“:
An adx file ending with „_2.adx“ is the entrance theme for a DIRTY Superstar. You will hear the crowd booing in the background!

ENTRANCE.AFS
This AFS file contains ALL entrance themes of the superstars in SvR07 (i.e Cenas-Theme, DX-Theme etc….)

When you open the ENTRANCE.AFS you will see the following in AFSExplorer:

Here we notice a similar situation as in „GAME.AFS“. Again, most of the time there are three adx files that belong to one entrance theme. For example the first music track. This is the entrance theme of the „Great One“, „The Rock“:

„0000_0.adx“= When „The Rock“ won a match, this file will be played. The VICTORY theme!
„0000_1.adx“= The good guy entrance theme: That’s the entrance theme of the FACE Rock.
„0000_2.adx“= The bad guy entrance theme: That’s the entrance theme of the DIRTY Rock.

So you see that the endings of the filenames in „ENTRANCE.AFS“ have the same meaning as the filename endings in „GAME.AFS“. The only difference is, that themes in „ENTRANCE.AFS“ aren’t used for background music, only for wrestling matches! In „ENTRANCE.AFS“ there are also some entrance themes, that come with only one or two adx files but I haven’t figured out that yet.

4.Step: Replacing adx files
We are going to replace background music and entrance themes we don’t like, with our favorite songs and themes! Sounds cool, eh? It really is!

Before we start, here some things to consider:

- Replace only a theme that has 3 adx files and replace all three adx files with the new theme!
e.g:
Good choice: „024_0.adx“, „024_1.adx“, „024_2.adx“. Replace all three!
Bad choice : „0089_0.adx“ (because there’s only one!)

- Don’t replace adx files that have a strange filename (like „dummy.adx“)!

- The length of the songs you want import into the gamedisc shouldn't be too short. Otherwise the music will end before your wrestler even reached the ring! Normally the superstars need around 1min to 1min 30s for their entrance. The longest entrances you can make in the game (like TripleH) are a little bit over 2min. Therefore I cut all my songs down to 2:10min to be on the safe side. I suggest you don't make them longer than that because you might run into problems with discspace later on... Just cut all the songs (except backgroundsongs) down to 2:10min. Worked great for me so far.

- Again: You don't have endless space! I can't stress this enough. A dvd has a maximum capacity of around 4,4 GB.
The game itself has around 4,1 GB. We can't add more than 300 MB of data. That may sound much, but believe me it's not. Especially if you want to replace many songs together with some vids! Therefore my tip with the maximum song length of around 2:10min which will be enough. I will show you how to easily cut your songs later on, it's very easy so no worries about that ;) And believe me: It's frustrating when you realize that the work of a few hours is useless because you can't burn your 5GB ISO on a dvd!

Now you must decide which adx files you want to replace. I suggest you write the filenames on paper.
Example:
I choose the song "202_...adx" from the GAME.AFS. Now we already know that we should replace not only „0202_0.adx“ but also „0202_1.adx“ and „0202_2.adx“ because they belong together. ALL 3 need to be replaced my song! I have that song as MP3 file on my computer.

1.Converting our mp3 file to appropiate wav files with Audacity

- 1.7 Open your mp3 file in Audacity(„File“--]“Open“)
- 1.8 Click on the button beside „Project rate:“. Change it to „48000 Hz“.
- 1.9 Our song should be Stereo. If the label shows „Mono“ you need to convert your song to stereo before you continue with this tutorial. (Google is your friend!)

Now we are going to make 3 wav-files of our song and rename them to 0202_0.wav, 0202_1.wav and 0202_2.wav.
Let's make 0202_0.wav first.

Things to know about cutting
-Now would be the right time to cut our song down to 2:10min. However since the "202_0" file will be played in the background I won't cut this one because I want the whole song for my background music! "0202_1" and "0202_2" are for entrances and we will cut them of course.
-If I would have chosen a song from the "ENTRANCE.AFS" for replacing, I would cut ALL 3 versions (i.e "0001_0","0001_1" and "0001_2").

Cutting instructions (see picture above)
It's easy. First select the part of the audiostream you want to erase. In our case, from around 2:10 (see arrow in picture!) - End of stream. After that hit the "Del" key of your keyboard to cut it out. If you want you can add a "fade-out-effect" to your cutted stream. Select a short piece of your stream, go to „Effect“ at top menu and select „Fade Out“. The selected track section will be changed to fade out! That's all!

- 2.0 Choose „Export as WAV“(File-->“Export to WAV“). Now we saved our mp3 file as wav file. Since this file will be the future "..._0.adx"-of the song we will save it with the appropiate filename (in our case "202_0.wav").

Now we are going to create 202_01.wav and 202_02.wav. Since these files will be the entrance theme
for FACE and DIRTY Superstars, we will add Booing and Cheering to our song. We need some soundfiles for that:

Cheer/Boo-Soundfile(@Rapidshare.com)
Cheer/Boo-Soundfile(@zshare.net)

Cheer.mp3 is used for creating the 202_01.wav
Boo.mp3 is used for creating the 202_02.wav

Why? I already mentioned, that files ending with “ _1“ are for FACE Superstars entrances and
files ending with „_2“ are DIRTY Superstars entrances.

We start with "_1.wav" file:

Important:
Now we are making the entrance themes, so don't forget cutting this time! (We haven't cut before because we will use the 202_0.wav for backgroundmusic)

- 2.1 Go to „Project“ at top menu and select „Import Audio“. Choose the cheer.mp3 file.
Once the cheer track is imported you will see it below our song’s track.
- 2.2 Now I suggest you should first hear the result by clicking the green Play Button under top menu. If you think
that the cheer volume is too low or too high you can adjust the volume of the cheer track by clicking on a
free place at the left side of the cheer track. If you did everything right, only the cheer track will be
selected. Now you can use the volume controller to change the volume.
- 2.3 Satisfied with the result? Good. Now select all tracks (Strg+A or Ctrl+A on keyboard). Then go to „Project“
at top menu and select „Quickmix“. The two music tracks will be merged to one!

Save the result the way it is described under point 2.0.(File-->“Export to WAV“). But this time we will save it as "202_01.wav".

- Now we will create 0202_02.wav. Press Ctrl+Z 2-times(or 2-times: "Edit"-->"Undo"). This will set back the Quickmix and Audioimport in Audacity. At the end, only the audiostream should be left.
-Now repeat step 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 but instead of „Cheer.mp3" you need to choose „Booo.mp3" of course!
Save the result as "202_02.wav".
After that, close Audacity.

2. Adjusting the volume of the wav files with WaveGain
Now we need to bring the volume of our 3 wav files to the same level.
The easiest way to do that is using WaveGain. Start the „WaveGain frontend.exe“.

- 2.4 Choose the directory with all your 3 wav files in („0202_0.wav“, „0202_1.wav“, „0202_2.wav).
- 2.5 Change „Extra gain“ to 9. I had good experiences with that value.
- 2.6 By hitting „Calculate and apply“ WaveGain will begin the adjustment of the volumes. At the end, all 3 wav files will have the right volume for SvR07.
Now you can close WaveGain.

3. Converting wav files to adx files
Well that's easy! We need „Adxencd“ for that. The program consists of only one file: „adxencd.exe“
Now place „adxencd.exe“ to the place where you have your 3 wav files, „0202_0.wav“, „0202_1.wav“ and „0202_2.wav, altough I suggest to place your adx-files and adxencd.exe directly under C:/. This should work at any case, else you might get problems.
Notice:
I found that adxencd didnt work if I unzipped the program then moved that program file to another folder. Basically, wherever you unzip that file to youre gonna have to keep it there to get it to work.
After that, simply use your mouse to drag one wav file after another to the „adxencd.exe“. You will see a DOS-window open everytime you do this. After you did this with all three wav files, it’s time to look after your new adx files! For that you will have to search for them. (Yes i know it’s stupid -.- )

- 2.7 Use the windowssearch for that.
- 2.8 Searchname should be part of the filenames, e.g. „0202_“
- 2.9 Search your drive where you installed Windows (C:/).
- 3.0 Here you go! We found it: In my case Adxencd saves adx files to „C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\PC-Chef“ (I have a german windows version). So go to that folder and you will find all your new adx files there!

4. Importing of adx files using AFSExplorer
Start AFSExplorer.

- 3.1 Open the GAME.AFS as explained under point 1.6(If you want to replace adx files in ENTRANCE.AFS, open ENTRANCE.AFS instead!).
- 3.2 Under point "Action" click "Import folder..." and choose the folder where you placed all your newly created adx files.

If the adx files you import are bigger/smaller than the original ones, you will receive following message:

Click "YES". Now another message will pop up:

Answer with "OK". We will create a new GAME.AFS replacing the original GAME.AFS.
To do that, we'll save the new AFS-file under the name GAME.AFS(or ENTRANCE.AFS if you imported adx files into ENTRANCE.AFS). For that, click on the original file you are replacing so that the actual file name would automatically generate in the 'Save As' column and then save it somewhere on your computer (where you can find it later ;) )

- 3.3 A new window opens and the adx files will be automatically imported into the new GAME.AFS:

We are nearly done. Open the new GAME.AFS in AFSExplorer. The soundfiles (202_) should now be replaced.
Check them out (F4) to be sure everything is fine. Close AFSExplorer if you're done with that - no need to save.

5. Rebuilding the modified ISO with Xpert
First copy the new created GAME.AFS into the MUSIC-folder of our "@(ISO-Name)"-folder, replacing the old existing GAME.AFS. Then it's time for the final step. Bring Xpert back to the play (click on the Xpert-Icon near the clock on your desktop to bring it back!) I hope you still have Xpert opened...

- 3.5 Click "Rebuild File". Xpert will begin to rebuild a new ISO of the "@(ISO-Name)"-folder. That can take some time, so go and grab something to eat and drink a coke. You've earned it.
- 3.6 After the ISO is rebuilded. Click "Rebuild LBA".

Congrats, we are done! Just burn the new ISO back on a blank DVD and then have fun with your modified game! ;)

FAQ

- Does this work for XBOX360?
I really don't know. This and previous guides were made for PS2 versions of SvR. In order to use this guide for XBOX360 too, you first would have to somehow make an iso of your Xbox SvR disc and then your Xbox must be able to play burned games. I really don't know if that is possible at all (I don't have a XBox360). Furthermore I doubt that you can use this turorial for the Xbox too, cause I believe that the Xbox disc of SvR has a different structure (different files, folders etc.). So you would need different programs, I fear.

- Does this work with SvR 06 too?
Yes it does. However keep in mind, that SvR06 has different folders than SvR07. There won't be a MUSIC.AFS, GAME.AFS and ENTRANCE.AFS like in SvR07. (Instead, the music is placed in a folder called "BGM" I believe.) But when you figured out where the music is placed in SvR06 it's really the same procedure as in SvR07.

- I have a modded PS2/swapmagic card but the burned disc doesn’t work in my Ps2. Whats going on?
Well I would say that the majority of backups which do not work, or do work but stop, skip or stutter, is because of bad media. Also the PS2 laser is fragile and sensitive and if you use bad quality media, you're gonna wear the laser out much quicker. So using a good media is always a good choice. My personal preference and recommendations for DVD burns are DVD-Rs from "Taiyo Yuden", "Verbatim" and "TDK". Taiyo Yuden dvds are hard to get but are among the best, but Verbatim and TDK are also good choices. Oh and DON'T USE DVD-RW! I used TDK/Verbatim DVD-R myself and never failed. For more detail information about quality media: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

-Can you replace the entrance videos too?
Yes you can! You should use videos of SvR06 and you will get the best results. For more informations read the video editing tutorial on my site: http://www.freezerslair.de/svr/svr2en.php

-Can you replace the callnames?
It should be possible. But it’s not easy if you want to make it perfect and make it sound right. First you need to find the right ADX files for the callnames. Then the callname should have both the voice of the RAW announcer (Lillian) and the Smackdown announcer (Tony Chimel). Maybe you can export and use the voices from previous SvR games…To be honest I never tried that.
awsome but where do i get the other items
Well, if you mean the programs - I edited my post and put up downloadlinks to all needed pograms.

If you mean the PS2 modchip: your PS2 needs to be modified to play copied or backed-up games...(I believe talking about that is forbidden in this forum so i cant say more than that)

Oh and another thing: I updated the downloadlink to a more stable version of DKZStudio because some people reported issues with the old version of DKZ... Now everything should work fine

How you download something from Rapidshare:

1. Click on the download link.
2. Scroll to bottom of the page, click on the “Free” button.
3. Now you will get a download waiting time countdown.
4. After the waiting time expired, you can now choose one of different download mirrors. Choose one.
5. Now you write in the code you see in the picture into the textbox, then click "ok". Your Download will start.

Rapidshare is great for downloading big files, because of the high download speed. But I agree that its not very user friendly and since the programs aren't that big, I will try to upload them to another site like Megaupload or Filefront. They are indeed much easier to navigate.

ok thx 4 dat but its da dvd decorder thing thats getting on my tits, after u do dat decodin,i get 3 files 1 is thq and den 2 other one.

and another thing, dkz studio wont let me open dem up. in ur pic of dkz,u gt music folder and da rest but i dont,i only gt da 3 i told u. so wats goin on iz dis meant 2 hapen?
Well, after I created the SvR-ISO with DVDDecrypter I got only 2 files: THQ.ISO and THQ.MDS The important one is THQ.ISO. This is the file you have to choose and open with DKZStudio. If everything is alright, you should then see the different folders and files including the "MUSIC.AFS" in my picture.

BTW, look at my first post again. I uploaded 2 more pictures and edited text to make it clear.

ok thx 4 dat but its da dvd decorder thing thats getting on my tits, after u do dat decodin,i get 3 files 1 is thq and den 2 other one.

and another thing, dkz studio wont let me open dem up. in ur pic of dkz,u gt music folder and da rest but i dont,i only gt da 3 i told u. so wats goin on iz dis meant 2 hapen?
Well, after I created the SvR-ISO with DVDDecrypter I got only 2 files: THQ.ISO and THQ.MDS The important one is THQ.ISO. This is the file you have to choose and open with DKZStudio. If everything is alright, you should then see the different folders and files including the "MUSIC.AFS" in my picture.

BTW, look at my first post again. I uploaded 2 more pictures and edited text to make it clear.
thx again but,i dont get dat thq.iso file, but i hav got thq.mds and sum other 2 files.

iz it possable 4 u 2 send it me through msn,or could u tel me wats goin rong.

WOWWWWWWWW i jus had a check and believe me,nothin like shows up wen i do it not a single bit at all

However I don't understand why you didn't get an iso... Did you change other settings in DVDDecrypter than the ones I posted in my guide? And what are the other 2 files you get? As I said, I only recieved THQ.ISO and THQ.MDS. I have the PAL version of SvR07 but I don't think that matters...

The only reason I can think of, why you don't hear the music of the new file but the old music is because the adx files you imported are still the old sounds from SvR. I would check out the adx files you created with Adxencd. Doubleclick on them and listen. You should hear the right (new) music. If that isn't the case and you still hear the old music you want to replace, ít's obvious you made a mistake.
Does this work for 360?
I really don't know. This and previous guides were made for PS2 versions of SvR. In order to use this guide for XBOX360 too, you first would have to somehow make an iso of your Xbox SvR disc and then your Xbox must be able to play burned games. I really don't know if that is possible at all (I don't have a XBox360). Furthermore I doubt that you can use this turorial for the Xbox too, cause I believe that the Xbox disc of SvR has a different structure (different files, folders etc.). So you would need different programs, I fear.
okie now that i've done that, how extactly do i turn it into a dvd image or iso with the moddifications i made like, the one you have on your nero picture?
Its not necessary to do a new image or iso! DKZStudio directly saves the modifications you made in your exisiting SvR07 Iso. So to finish just select the THQ.ISO in Nero and burn it on DVD! Thats all.
Does this works with SvR 06 too?
Yes it does.
However keep in mind, that SvR06 has different folders than SvR07. There won't be a MUSIC.AFS, GAME.AFS and ENTRANCE.AFS in SvR07. (Instead, the music is placed in a folder called "BGM" I believe.)
But when you figured out where the music is placed in SvR06 its really the same procedure as in SvR07.

Hmm, do you have a modchip in your PS2?? If not, there's no way that the burned DVD will work on your PS2.

Well I never experienced any problems with the burned DVD. I can only think of some reasons why your DVD won't play:

- Did you use a suitable medium ? I used TDK DVD-Rs and with them there shouldn't be any problems
- In Nero, did you choose the "THQ.ISO" to burn?
- Did you get any error messages during/after Importing the adx files in DKZStudio ( like files too large)?
- If you imported adx files are bigger than the original ones, the burned DVD won't work.
- Can you play your imported adx files in DKZStudio after importing them?
- Did you get any error messages in Nero?

Well thats the only problems I can think of... As I said I never had a problem with this guide and it worked 100% for me.

by the way, whats TDK DVD-Rs is it tuff disk dvds?
I used TDK DVD-R myself and never failed. For more detail information about quality media:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

BTW, I would do this test:
Create a second image(iso) of your original SvR game withDVDDecrypter and try to burn the iso right after... (so without any editing and file exporting/importing). If your PS2 reads that copy without problems then chances are high that the problems lies in your edited iso. If your PS2 can't read that copy too, then the problem may be the Dvd media itself or your PS2. Thats all I can think off now.
