I can see them trying really hard to make it work. a lot of babyfaces in this position wouldn't get cheered, but Rusev is still over. They went and draw this one out without still having a match. Usually this would go like, 2-3 weeks of weak promos and a series of matches for a month at least. And everything would fall flat and get no reaction whatsoever in week 2. Instead, here they are focused on the buildup with trash segments. Hell, I doubt they aren't so trashy looking on purpose. And when Rusev finally gets an upper hand it will be in a match and a big win, and the crowds will cheer. Unless of course Lashley wins that one in some overbooked trash, but since Rusev never got the upper hand yet... I doubt it. I mean, I'm not defending it, it's still trash, but I wouldn't dismiss it so quickly that Lana and Rusev aren't having any kind of fun with it. At this point the only major problem I have with it is that the role that Lana is having is sexist as *Censored* and the whole alpha vs beta stuff is super cringey.
