NXT Discussion Thread

Why?

Because I like it being its own thread? Idk how to explain why I like something, I just do.

Interesting.

Do you like RAW and SmackDown together?

What would like think about NXT and NXT UK being together?

The question was for Jmerc

Why?

Why will it be added? Or why not? :hqhq:

Make sense... the show is now on the same network as RAW and SmackDown.

Happy to consider otherwise if people prefer it in its own thread...

I don't think NXT being on the USA network warrants a merge between NXT, SD, and RAW.

personally i say separate everything.

Everything? Like...SD and Raw having their own topics too? Nah...I don't think that makes any sense.

Just keep NXT separate, I would say.

I think the fact that NXT has its own brand initials is the main reason to keep it separate. And because the Raw and SD people are not going to be on NXT as well (unless they are...and then, maybe merge it). But as long as NXT has an exclusive roster from Raw and SD, and as long as NXT keeps focusing on rising stars...I would consider it a separate branch of WWE more than a 'brand' of WWE's main programming.

Also, I think it will be important whether the new show is just called "NXT"...or whether it's headed with the NXT initials and also has a "proper" name. Like...if the new show is called NXT Livewire or something along those lines...then I think that would be even more reason to keep it separate. If it debuts as simply WWE: NXT...and the roster seems like it is more "give and take" among all three brands, rather than NXT having a strict roster of its own...then I wouldn't oppose a merge.

I dont really watch those shows so I dont use them for their actual purpose. So it doesnt really bother me if they separated or not. I just enjoy this thread being on its own for some reason.

NXT feels different than RAW and SD. I think it'll keep its cult type fanbase. Also, discussing what happens on RAW usually relates to what's happening on SD and vise versa. NXT doesn't really tie in to the other shows unless it's someone debuting.

So I'd be in favor of keeping the threads separated.

I really hope the Cruiserweights get moved to NXT and the title becomes exclusive to NXT kind of like the old title was for Smackdown during the RA era.

I hope not. The Cruiserweight title has no business on NXT, when half of the roster would make the cut anyway. They already have a secondary title. Just use the 5 hours of Raw & SmackDown better to include them.

I just see the cruiseweights being more appreciated on NXT at Full Sail compared to Raw and Smackdown crowds

That goes for almost every wrestler though.

I mean...look at Tyler Breeze & Fandango, who weren't in the Cruiserweight Division at all.

True, I guess it also goes with my fear of over exposure of NXT talent. Thats what makes NXT what it is, you dont see Dream or Cole every week. Adding the extra hour makes me worry about them relying on using the same people every week when they can implement a roster of guys that they already use for a hour TV show. All assuming 205 Live doesnt survive all the change.

I just thought of something, but aren't Mia and Shayna really good friends and even roommates? Really close friends typically have good chemistry with one another in the ring, but those two had a snooze fest of a match at Takeover lol.

Also, I'm not feeling this feud with Riddle vs. Dain. The shit feels forced and I'd rather Riddle feud with so many other people than Dain.

*Censored* it im ready for two hours

Same.

I hate that it seems like a lot fans are getting worked up with Vince having some sort of control more than anything else rather than taking the time to realize that a lot of the lesser known NXT stars will get more TV time and stuff. A lot of added pressure with the show being live on such a big network, but I don't see how NXT will hurt from this as long as the core of what NXT is about remains the same.

As iffy as I am about the move to USA, and as little time I have to watch MORE wrestling every week, god I look forward to 2 hours of NXT. I cant wait to see more of Thorne, KUSHIDA, Keith Lee, Dijak, my boy Swerve. I cant get enough of those guys. Even a lot of the girls they have on ice right now.

Edit: didnt even see the responses in this thread before I posted, so it looks like were on the same page.. But Ive always been an advocate for NXT expanding. I just dont want Vince to touch it which I think is inevitable lol
