Nintendo Switch questions

So I was thinking about getting one, and was wondering if it would be worth it for someone like me, I do enjoy a majority Mario games (Racing, Party, and Smash Bros). Our these titles still enjoyable (The last time I played them was when GameCube was out) . I also own a PS4 and know that games like Crash Team Racing will be coming out soon. Also how well does the Battery last, and Storage etc.

Storage isnt a problem if you buy the physical games and if you stick to Nintendos own games.

It is mainly the third party games that suck up storage space.

The new Mario Party is tons of fun and it feels more like the original one.

Smash is a fun game with a great callback to the time where you had to unlock characters. You start with 8 and I guess there are like 74 characters or so.

Storage space is also easily remedied by obtaining a micro SD card, which often go on sale dirt cheap on Amazon. I bought the largest size compatible card for Switch (which was 64Gb, I think)...and I still haven't run out of space on my system. As Niffan said, buying physical games helps. I tend to collect games, so I always go physical when I can...but the vast majority of my Switch games are digital. Seriously...I have an obscene collection of digital games at this point. You can also "archive" games, which means that you delete them from your system...but, the icon stays there...and, all you need to do to play them again is select the icon and wait for them to re-install.

Anyway, when it comes to games, I find myself playing a lot of the indy stuff. For some reason, games just feel really good on the Switch in handheld mode. I guess it's the convenience of it. So, I'll buy a lot of little indy games that I would probably pass on Xbox or PS4. And I have a lot of fun playing those. I feel like, once you have a Switch, it's harder to resist buying a bunch of games from the digital store than it is actually finding games to play. You won't have to worry about a lack of games to play.

But, uh...yeah...I just counted my library, and I have 90 tiles. Minus the three that are apps and not games. I guess I have 87 Switch games. Lol. 15 of them are physical games, which means that 72 of them are digital. Many of them are little indy games, but that's still a lot. And none of them are bad. I don't buy bad games. Not even when they're cheap or free.

PS4 is probably the better system, though it depends what games youre looking for. If you just want top of the line AAA, stick to PS4. Switch is only gonna get weaker too when PS5 and the next Xbox come in the next year or two

If you just want Nintendo games and the occasional non Ninty game then it's all G, but the main games arent gonna touch Switch cuz it can't run them, and I dont think it'll be long before Switch loses the vast majority of multi platform games simply because theyll be PS5 games

Most games will run better on your PS4, so Switch is if you wanna play on the go, as well as some Mario games like you said and some Pokemon games

if you haven't had sine Gamecube, it might be better to pick up either a Wii or Wii u for some of the stuff youve missed the last 15 years.

Gen says he has 90 whatever games, but hes said before he only has like 5 real Switch games. Switch is filled with mobile ports and terrible indy games and from what I can gather on the Switch subreddit, its been a massive problem as Nintendo have no sorting system, so theyre all over the place and it hard to find the proper stuff.

When PS5 and NextBox come, Switch may be *censored*ed.

Shut up, Muur.

All three of the consoles are awesome. Get them all if you can afford to do so. But certainly don't view PS4 as an alternative to Switch...because it isn't, at all. Xbox One and PS4 are comparable. Switch is way over in another place. Making comparisons of Switch to PS4 is a waste of everyone's time.

Also, about battery life - it lasts a long time. Like...a pretty damn long time. Turn the screen brightness down a little bit, and you're good to go. It doesn't need to be at 100% brightness anyway. Battery is good though. Really good.

Nintendo has never really been about "power"(except when they were publishing that magazine, badum ching). They're always about fun first. They have their market and they will keep their market. Next gen isn't gonna change that.

Personally, I'd look onto getting a Switch simply because of Smash. It's the only reason why I ever looked into a GC and it's the only reason I looked into a Wii (though neither were acquired specifically for me). But for anybody who enjoyed their first party stuff, they should prolly be lookong at the Switch too.

And don't get a Wii U, Muur is insane

Wii U is great, but in terms of games, almost every noteworthy game on the system has already been ported to Switch. There're only 3 1st party games that haven't been ported.

Really, if you care about Nintendo IPs and/or indy games or the portability aspect, then yes it is definitely worth it. Even with the multiplat triple aayyyyyuuuuhg games, from what I've seen, most of them are at least competent enough on Switch that it's not too big of a deal.
