Gaming Setups

Twisted...

Recommended Posts

Figured I'd make this topic, seeing as I've started working on my own gaming setup.

Things to note:

-TV is just a place holder. My actual good TV fell off the wall mount, so I need to get a replacement, thankfully I have a warranty on it.

-I did have a heck of a lot more games, but a lot of them broke/stopped working. I've recently discovered a retro game store, which is just down the road from me, so my collection will be growing eventually.

-Most of my Xbox One games are digital, so I only have one physical disc for the console. All my Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible with the Xbox One, besides the WWE ones. I'm hoping they will become backwards compatible eventually, so I'm holding onto them for now.

Consoles plugged in:

-Xbox One

-PS2

-N64

-SNES Classic (modified with 200+ games)

-PC, which I use for simple emulators, and just general browsing, typing, etc...

It's a pretty small and simple setup, but I have a pretty small and simple bedroom. It gets the job done.

I've got my PS4, PS3. PS2. Xbox One, and Switch plugged in with my PC being by my desk, the rest of my consoles are tucked away and I just get them out when I'm in the mood to play them. I've always wanted a kick-ass setup but at the moment it looks pretty average at best, nothing fancy whatsoever.

PS4, XB1, and Switch are all connected to the main 60" tv in the living room. And then I have my computer in my bedroom for anything else. That's it. I don't keep older consoles set up, mainly because I don't have a great deal of room to do so.

I also have a spare charging cable for my Switch, so I can play it in bed. I would consider that part of my permanent setup, since I use it every day.

I have my PS4 and XBO on a set of draws with the TV mounted to the wall above. My other consoles like the 360 etc are just in a box. One day, the PS4 and XBO will join them

I have a 32inch HDTV, with 3 HDMI slots which I have my XB360, XB1 and PS4 connected to. My laptop is in the living room, but saving up to get a gaming PC as planning on a YouTube career for streaming Let's Plays.

I got my XB360 hooked up to a 24in TV, while my N64 sits in its original box in my closet. My PS2 sits in a small box in a drawer and my Dreamcast joins it in another box. My PC is my main gaming device and I use it for the latest games as well as playing emulators for the PS2, Genesis, Mame, SNES, N64, Gamecube, and Wii. That's more than enough games for me to kill time when I'm bored.

Here's my new setup. Still waiting for the good TV to return, haha. I've added a Wii, GameCube, PSOne, and Sega Mega Drive to my collection. Now to actually start buying games (which I have planned out), haha.

And just a note - I know the PS2 is backwards compatible, but mine has been played quite a lot, so I'm not sure if it'll read original PlayStation discs any more, so I got a PSOne just in case (plus it was cheap).

Going to be getting proper shelves/storage for the games, once the collection starts growing, but this'll do for now.

Got my big TV back, so my Xbox One, SNES Classic are connected via HDMI, and my PS2 and Wii are connected via Component.

The GameCube, PSOne, and Sega Mega Drive will be connected to the small TV via RGB SCART (once the cables arrive next week), and the N64 is connected via Composite, because I don't fancy modding/getting someone to mod my console... Maybe one day.

The plan is to have everything connected to the big TV eventually, but the SCART to HDMI upscalers cost an arm and a leg, so that'll have to wait.

Sorry for the wonky photo.

I know this is nothing exciting compared to a lot of gaming setups you see online, but I think it works for how small my room is.
