Generations Posted May 13, 2018 Report Share Posted May 13, 2018 Since he's training under Jay Lethal, and is reportedly doing "very well", I thought it would be worth asking...would you rather see Dominic perform as an extension of the Rey Mysterio name, or would you rather he do his own thing? Also, I know that the right to wear the mask is something that would be earned over time, not handed to him right out of the gate (especially while Rey is still performing). I'm just saying...is it something that you would support in the future, or not at all? It's worth noting that Dominic is considerably larger than Rey...so it would be kind of odd seeing the Mysterio mask on a dude that large. It's called heritage. No one would ever claim that Rey Mysterio had somehow ridden the coattails of his uncle (the original Rey Misterio). It's an honor to have the name passed down. You still need to be a quality performer in your own right. * and why do all of these posts have "mark as solved" on them? If I remember correctly, Rey Jr didn't start with the name either, his uncle gave him the honour once he believed he'd earned it. Rey has his mind in the right place, it's much better to develop a pro-wrestler by having him train different styles then just like sending him to WWE developmental. By the time WWE is fully interested in him and offers a contract, he'll have plenty of experience and training. It'll add to his resume. He might even make it in the indies, japan or mexixo(if Rey plans an AAA or CMLL run).
