The Sammartino Classic

Hey guys I truly hope that wwe makes this happen. I didn't know he had passed until I got off work the night after. With my brand that's what I plan to do is pay tribute to Bruno. I truly hope wwe does something in his memory.

I don't think it's needed at all. They should've just cycled each year who the Battle Royal at Mania was for.

Andre was synonymous with battle royals so I can't see them doing that. Bruno is a huge name in WWE/wrestling overall, so I can see WWE doing something to honor him, not sure if it should be in the form of a tournament though since we've had so many of those recently.

Dedicating an episode of RAW to him, showing a bunch of footage and such would be fine. Do a ten bell salute. Add a bunch of Bruno special episodes to the Network or something.

I guess Andre is a big guy for BRs... but that didn't explain why they were gonna do it for Moolah too lol. I think random legends every year would've been better.

WWE: "We're pleased to announce that this fall will be the start of the Bruno Sammartino Cruiserweight Tag Team Classic in the United Kingdom" - it's catchy, right? They'll definitely have something planned, there's no way they can't do something for the longest reigning WWE champion of all time.

Seeing as how Bruno is pretty well known for holding the world title for seven years, I was thinking maybe a tournament for former World Champions. You have 14 active ones, and a few part-timers(HHH, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Jericho) who you could easily bring in just for the tournament. The winner could get a shot at their brand's world title at whatever PPV.

From my understanding moolah was a bitter person.but it seems people cant get past that murr

Moolah wasn't "a bitter person". She was a pimp. Selling female wrestlers as prostitutes and holding women's-wrestling in the west back for decades.

WWE seems to give a pass to certain people after they are dead that they wouldn't give to them if they were alive. Utimate Warrior was notorious for his homophobic views but is celebrated after his death like he never before while he was alive. Moolah as has been said was really shady backstage yet WWE honors her like she never did anything wrong. I'm sure if Hogan passed before the next Wrestlemania they would start some sort of award for the HoF called the "Real American" award and completely forget about why he's been blacklisted for the last 3 or 4 years.

Id like them to rotate every year on the cruiser weight classic, mae young classic, UK tournament and the Bruno S classic (which would be a tournament of heavyweights) and have each of these tournaments 2 per year, so one year during the summer wed get the Mae young and in that same year during the winter wed get the UK tournament, then the following year it would be the different tournaments. Kinda like the olympics in how they rotate

I like the sound of that. A man like Bruno deserves something to honor him, and the winner getting a shot at a world title is a nice reward. If this was to happen, I could really see a guy like Cesaro winning it.

Actually, I was listening to the podcast that Bruno did with Jericho...and I think a nice thing could be a weight lifting competition. It doesn't have to be a televised thing...just an insider thing for the boys. They could announce who wins the medal/trophy whatever on WWE.com, as well as on Raw and Smackdown...but they don't need to actually show any of the competition itself. But, yeah...that would be a nice way to go, IMO.

I don't know why so many people have a problem with trophies. I personally like trophy events more than title shots.

Title opportunities come and go. Anyone can win a title at any point in their career, for any reason.

If you get a sick trophy...that's a unique thing. There are going to be very few people who can ever lay claim that that trophy. If it's a single event which never happens again, then you're going to have literally one single person who can make the claim of winning that trophy. I'd take that over a championship, tbh.

I definitely agree.
