Come on Brother Nero

WWE star Jeff Hardy was arrested on Saturday evening 3/10 for driving while impaired in Cameron County, North Carolina, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Hardy, 40-years old, was arrested at 10:20 PM on 3/10 according to the Cabarrus County Sherriffs Office. He was released a little over an hour later at 11:24 PM. No details have been released yet on the circumstances leading to the arrest. Hardy has also been hit with a 30 day pretrial revocation of his driver's licence, which means that currently, he cannot legally drive.

Hardy is slated to appear in Cabarrus County Court on 4/18 in regard to his arrest.

The former WWE champion has been out of action since undergoing surgery for a torn labrum and a torn rotator cuff in September 2017. He has been slated to head to the WWE Performance Center later this month to work out in the ring in advance of his return to action.

With Jeff out of action, hs brother Matt Hardy has been feuding with Bray Wyatt. WWE filmed the latest chapter of that feud, Ultimate Deletion, on the Hardy compound this past Friday 3/9. There is no word yet whether Jeff Hardy was slated to (or did) appear in any fashion during the filming.

Obviously, the story is developing, and we will have more details as they emerge.

Honestly, I feel for Jeff...and I think the past stretch of posts are a bit insensitive.

If the dude was finally back on track, and got something he shouldn't have taken because of WWE's medical staff, that's not funny at all. Not saying that's what happened...but, it seems at least a little bit likely. It doesn't take much when you're an addict. And physical pain never helps matters.

What if it was just his pain meds?

Would explain why he was released within an hour but not sure the police would remove his license for 30 days for it.

It wasn't heavy/illegal drugs because it would have been stated and Jeff may have been held on bond. Seems minor and I doubt it'll effect his stand with WWE.

Yeah, I was just about to post whether or not he was on pain meds, which I think is likely after just realizing he got released by doctors.

And I think getting your driver's license revoked for at least a week or a month after being arrested for a DWI/DUI is mandatory.

If he is prescribed something and was driving and having a medical situation its not a DUI.

That depends on the state's laws.

As noted, Jeff Hardy was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated on Saturday night in Cabarrus County, North Carolina after an accident on Concord Parkway in Concord, NC. The accident happened at 8:11pm where Concord Parkway South meets Bruton Smith Boulevard. Hardy was arrested at 10:20pm EST and released later that night at 11:24pm.
The police report notes that Hardy totaled his 2016 Cadillac with an estimated $8,000 in damages. The VIN listed on the police report is registered to a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Hardy was not traveling over the speed limit but was going an estimated 50 mph at the time of impact. The area of the accident is about 2 hours from Hardy's home in Cameron, NC. The report also indicates Hardy underwent some sort of test for alcohol but that the results were pending at the time of the arrest.
Officer Kelemecz wrote the following on the accident:
"Driver of Vehicle #1 ran off the roadway to the right, in turn striking about 105 feet of guardrail before the back end of the car spun out 90 degrees to the left, coming to rest in the middle of the right N bound lane of travel. The driver was arrested and charged with DWI."
The police report lists an estimated $5,000 in damages to the 105 foot of guardrail, owned by the NC Department of Transportation. This could be a factor in any restitution that the court orders Hardy to pay.
Hardy has had his driver's license suspended for 30 days, which is standard in North Carolina following a DWI arrest. Hardy's first court date is scheduled for Monday, April 16th in Cabarrus County.
No word yet on WWE's reaction to the arrest or if this could delay his return to TV. WWE filmed The Ultimate Deletion with Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt last week at Matt's home in Cameron, NC but we don't know if Jeff was used in that match or not, or if WWE would edit him out. Hardy has been out of action since undergoing surgery in September 27th but he was recently cleared to return and was scheduled to begin training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando this month.
