There has been some speculation on WWE NXT or WWE 205 Live possibly coming to Fox or the USA Network with the new TV deals but it looks like those shows will be staying exclusive to the WWE Network. There have been no negotiations for other WWE TV shows to come to Fox or NBCUniversal.

On a related note, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter adds that there is no talk of trying to negotiate TV deals to move pay-per-view events from the WWE Network to monthly Sunday TV specials. As noted on Thursday, there are plans for a weekly studio show to air on FS1 but it looks like that will be the only extra programming to come out of the new deals.

As noted, Fox’s new five-year deal for SmackDown is worth $1.025 billion ($205 million per year) while NBCUniversal’s deal for RAW to air on the USA Network is worth a reported $265 million per year. If the two deals are finalized at the reported terms, they would be worth a combined $470 million per year, a 261% increase from the reported $130 million per year they are receiving for both shows under the current NBCU deal.

Dakota Kai recently spoke with Byron Saxton for WWE.com; you can read a few highlights below:

Dakota Kai on her chances against Shayna Baszler in the future:

After that initial match, I learned some important things about my own limits. I hope to get another opportunity, as I know that I’ll be better prepared mentally and emotionally. It’s insane if you’re even slightly lacking in one of those areas, the effect it can have in a high-pressure situation. I also learned things about Shayna. She’s not invincible — no one is. All those mind tricks just prove to me how much of an insecure person she really is. The biggest mistake she can make is underestimating someone who is so quietly confident in ending her reign.

How has she transitioned from leaving New Zealand to joining NXT?

Leaving my family was tough, but I wouldn’t have done it for anything other than pursuing my lifelong dream. Adapting to life here was a lot easier having Steffanie Newell by my side. Steffanie and I started at the exact same time at the WWE Performance Center. We supported each other a lot and still have each other’s back to this day. We even learned how to drive on the other side of the road together. That’s a horror story in itself, which I’ll save for another time.

Kai shares who has influenced her in-ring style:

The main influencers of my in-ring style would have to be Hideo Itami, Finn Bálor and Daniel Bryan. I was watching them since before they were here in WWE and was blown away with the level of skill they consistently showed.

Dakota shares one of her most favorite moments since joining WWE:

One of my favorite moments would have to be watching Steffanie Newell finally get back in the ring after her knee injury which sidelined her for 10 months. There were so many emotions and seeing a friend finally become reacquainted with their passion after such a hardship is a joy to watch.

Another cool episode.

- I'm glad I called Lars being Black's next challenger for the title. I'm still iffy on the match-up, though - and I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if Lars actually takes the belt. Lars being able to easily deflect the Black Mass made me a bit hyped and doesn't make Black seem like he's totally invincible.

- Ricochet is something else, man! Easily the highlight of the show; and I'd say he's probably been the big highlight for just about every episode he's been on so far. I wonder how Ricochet felt after sticking that landing. I know his feet and/or knees were *censored*ing screaming. I also love how simple, yet cool these stories for Dream's singles matches at Takeover have been. First, it was Dream just wanting Black to acknowledge him and "say his name". Then, it was him being able to knockout Ohno and withstand his striking ability...and now it's just a simple case of one-upping Ricochet. This match will likely steal the show if Gargano vs. Ciampa doesn't.

There seems to be more star quality from NXT's current batch of talent than ever before. Black, Dream, Ricochet, Dunne, and EC3 are at the top of that list for me.

I never watched much of EC3 in TNA, so I didn't know too much of what to expect from him. His ring skill seems average compared to a lot of others, but I think he carries himself like a big deal - and I guess that makes up for it.

I'm surprised EC3 hasn't been put in to a program straight away after NOLA. Right now it seems like he's getting a bit overshadowed by the likes of Cole and UE, Ciampa, and Dream as the biggest heels right now.

Can't get into EC3. I never watched him in TNA, but every time I see him I just think he looks like an idiot.

Did you ever see him in seasons four and five in the original NXT?
