Update On Neville Following Rumored Release Request

There’s a rumor going around stating Neville requested his release from WWE last night … and while we haven’t been able to confirm it quite yet, here’s what we know.

Sources say Neville was initially scheduled to lose to Enzo Amore in the main event lumberjack match on Raw. However, plans changed after the ex-cruiserweight champion walked out before the show.

In case you missed it, Kalisto was given the spot instead and won the Cruiserweight title.

While our sources haven’t been able to confirm this information officially, an account using the handle @WrestleVotes tweeted today saying Neville quit and most people we’ve spoken with say there does appear to be some truth in that claim.

It’s worth noting that not all wrestlers who ask for a release are immediately granted their request.

We’ll keep you updated if further information is made available.

Report from Figure 4 Online:

The future of Neville in WWE seems to be uncertain.
Sources confirmed to us that Neville walked out before Raw on Monday and appeared to have quit the promotion, though WWE has officially denied that he's quit. Monday's Raw featured Kalisto winning the Cruiserweight Championship from Enzo Amore in a lumberjack match, with Neville not appearing as one of the lumberjacks. He also wasn't on 205 Live this week.
Dave Meltzer noted on Monday night's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Kalisto facing Amore wasn't originally planned for Raw and that the match was supposed to happen for the first time at TLC. Plans for the show had called for Amore vs. Neville in a non-title match before they were changed.
Neville's last appearance on television was during the segment where Kalisto joined the cruiserweight division on Raw last week. His last televised match was against Ariya Daivari in the main event of the September 26th episode of 205 Live, though he worked a few house shows after that.
Whether Neville's time in WWE has come to an end remains to be seen. We'll have more on this story as it develops and in this week's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

First Aries and now Neville? Jeez...

So we basically know nothing and it's all just speculation at this point, right ok. Good ol' internet, never a let down.

We know that he walked out on Raw and wasn't on 205 live...

Kind of weak sauce if Neville just walked like that. Like dude, you better have a good reason for being such a bitch.

If true.

Yeah, what a quieter. We bought his house, after all.

Nobody buys houses in 2017, the economy is too shit, we have too much debt.

If true.

Really? You were there, did you see it?

By that logic Luke Harper and Erick Rowan walked out of WWE months ago when they didn't appear. And then what happened?

So all it takes is some random report to say he walked out with no evidence backing up that claim and you believe it? Right, gotcha.

Its not the same. Neville has been with the company a little over 5 years I believe. Aries in all honesty wasnt a major loss. So maybe thats why people aside from a solid portion were like that sucks oh well. Neville has a ton of potential and really excelled when he turned heel. So more people I guess feel he should stick around and maybe suck it up a little bit longer. Personally as bad as I want him to stay, I get it. If he left Id still support him because hes a top class guy.

Since Monday's Raw, there has been a persistent rumor that Neville had quit WWE as he did not appear and was originally slated to wrestle Enzo Amore on Raw.

Numerous WWE sources have denied to PWInsider.com that Neville has departed the company.

That said, the story that he has requested a release is still circulating. Stay tuned.

Some random report? You mean numerous reports including from probably the most respected source of news in wrestling? Are we even sure CM Punk walked out at the Rumble a few years ago? Surely it was all speculation, right? I mean did you see him walk out? Were you there?

Anyways, Kevin Owens put up a pic of him and Neville on Instagram, a couple hours ago:
