A-Bel
What are your thoughts on this fad? I understand that fidget spinners were originally designed as a stress relief toy for neurodiverse children but they seem to be causing a lot of distraction as well. I for one am considering banning them in my Sunday school class as they seem to be doing more harm than good to the kids in my class that have ADHD. The kids are wanting to constantly play with them in class and not only do they distract the child playing with it but they also distract the other children as well. Jeb ★
If it helps with some people's stress, more power to them but *Censored* those spinners, them as a meme died faster than the hot knife challenge (not really but) Though I own a fidget cube so
M3J
We sell them at like, $10 a pop even though the guests can get it for half that at Five Below. It's fun but I don't see how it helps much. The light-up ones are great.
Lunchbox
I use to make them with a pencil and a ruler This is the most relateable post. I have one, and i use it but its legit not distracting. I usually spin it off to the side when im in a meeting just so i don't squirm around in my seat.
maskedmaniac
I was just reading a review on IGN of the so-called "best" spinners out there. Don't get it my self, even though I work with children it makes little sense, it's not like pogs or those pods that would spin around and you could battle with them. Twisted...
I have ADHD, but I feel like I'd get bored of a fidget spinner after 5 minutes, lol.
High Flying Maniac
Personally I dislike the fact so many people use them as toys as I just don't see them that way. I see them more as a way to help those with stress, anxiety, ADD, ADHD ect. I mean obviously people can use them however they please. I just don't like how it's now a fad when it can actually help some people deal with whatever and not just be some other toy. I feel like with so many people having them now it somewhat ruins it for those that could actually benefit from it. I ordered one as I feel like it'd be able to help me with my stress and anxiety. Generations
I feel like there's something "off" about comparing the fidget spinner to a beyblade, or even a yoyo. It's just a stupid thing that you spin for shits and giggles. At least beyblades and yoyos had a point. You could "get better" at them. It was competitive. It had a point. The fidget spinner is seriously just a way to make money off jittery people who suffer from anxiety or whatever. Knowing the way that society is these days, they'll probably put this stupid piece of shit in the "toy hall of fame".
Creepia
Don't think anyone was comparing them. I asked if they were the new Beyblades because I know that they spin. I had no idea what they were for.
