The WWE-headliner-turned-UFC-fighter will take part in MTV’s “The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros” this spring, MTV’s official website announced Monday. CM Punk and nine other well-known pro-sports figures will go head-to-head with former winners of MTV shows “Road Rules” and “Real World” in athletic competitions.

Among the other pro athletes competing are Olympian Lolo Jones, snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis, former NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman and former WNBA player Candice Wiggins.

Each athlete has a chance to win $50,000 for a charity of their choosing. CM Punk is competing for PAWS Chicago, a no-kill animal shelter in his home city. The show premieres May 16.

God forbid anyone insult Punk ? People are always coming back crying about some random person on the internets opinion. Lol ?

I don't think anyone's really hurt. It was just a weird thing to say.

I don't even know who watches MTV these days. Don't they just air Teen Mom on an endless loop? Is it all teenage girls and their irresponsible mothers who watch MTV because they can relate to it, or...? Yeah, I'm thinking that's the demographic. That said, I'll check out Punk's involvement in this. But I'm only sticking around as far as he's still in it.

Scream was surprisingly good, I think I like it more than the movies tbh. But that's the most I've ever watched anything on MTV since the trainwreck that was Jersey Shore lol.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've watched MTV (in the past decade or so)...

WWF Tough Enough from 2001-2003

Sunday Night Heat 2001-2003

Wrestling Society X in 2007

Rob and Big 2006-2008

And...there was that show 'Death Valley' where the cops would encounter zombies and werewolves. That was decent.

(Not counting the classic days of Beavis and Butthead and actual music videos, of course).

Celebrity Deathmatch was definitely good (in its original run). When that show died off, was kinda the start of MTV going to shit. That whole early 2000's transition to garbage programming. I just consider that to be classic MTV programming, which is why I didn't include it above. CD goes with Beavis and Butthead...and music videos. Pure and classic MTV.

They had new episodes of Beavis and Butthead I think around 2012 or so. Still damn funny as ever but then MTV decided they wanted to go a "different" direction with their programming and cancelled it, again. It guess half an hour every Thursday was too much time to take away from their shit reality shows like Jersey Shore.
