Tips on making impressive looking CAWS

Hey

I've been playing WWE games for a long time now and always thought I made decent enough CAWS. However after looking at some of the ones all of you people have made on here and shared on CC, I clearly have a lot to learn.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for me on how to improve my CAWS.

I also would like to know how I can upload them onto here from my PS4.

Thanks in advance.

The only tip i can give, is come up with a theme for your character, get some logos together and just fool around with it. Thats how i do it! I get logos from Google or community creations. Sometimes i try and make my own, but i suck lol. Anyway, it takes time and patience and you will get better.

P.s. oz is probably better suited to give advice but thats my two cents.

For starters....Less is more.

Don't do stuff for the sake of doing things...do stuff if it makes sense and don't settle with "it's alright", because you will hate your own caw later.

Pay attention to non-logo parts of the creation. As KinglySeal said...details do a lot overall. Add texture (not even face texture import) to the body and the face etc..

agreed, nothing than the caws with all skin covered in tattoo's all hair dyed, tribal patterns along clothing, random logos placed everywhere! gloves, eblowpads, a hat, glasses, finn balors hair piece thing...MINIMAL IS NOT A BAD THING

This so much; I swear everyone loves to make that same over-tattooed, grimdark, biker/gangsta guy (who may or not be a demon)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I feel as though some of my CAWs don't necessarily have original gimmicks, but I've put my own little twist on those gimmicks to make it feel a little more original than what they would be otherwise.

I haven't used face textures before but judging from your comments, maybe that's something I should look into. I do agree with the "less is more" philosophy at times. I also feel as though there needs to be a purpose to what someone is wearing (eg. knee brace for a cheating heel to intentionally use on their opponents).

My main goal is to have two seperate companies. I'm currently working on Perth City Wrestling (PCW) and once I have 30-40 wrestlers in that company, I'll work on my other company called Main Event Professional Wrestling (MEPW). The idea being is that those two companies will go to war with each other.

I do hope to display some of my better CAWs to you guys (if anyone can tell me how that would be great. I own a PS4) and to upload them onto Community Creations if enough interest is shown. I love backstories for CAWs so if I can eventually find out how to display my CAWs on here that'll be something I'll look forward to.

Once again, thankyou to those who gave me advice. Stay tuned hahah.

Here's one. Don't get lazy and just throw a bunch of in-game logos together. A lot of kids seem to think this looks badass when in reality it looks lazy and, to put it blunt, looks like shit.

  • 3 weeks later...

If you second guess or not perfectly happy with knee pad, anything, logo, couloir etc but leave it "cos it will be fine" or "can't be bothered" as someone said, you'll hate it later on.

Literally, I've had to learn, first caw last couple days that I'm actually genuinely happy with.

If you question it, change it.

What do you guys do with face textures for original caws?

Honestly? I used a couple of the in-game ones but I really don't use them much, quite honestly. They can look decent but they take way to much work to set up, and the bugs on them are incredibly tiresome.
